I had a leak in my basement & had no clue where it was coming from. They came out and did emergency service and it turned out to be the AC condensation pump. Prompt, professional, clean.
Having them service A/C & replace h20 heater

not sure why or how they are listed as a supplier for a.o smith as they don't return calls, but now looking at the feedback i'm glad they didn't return my call :)

I have known this company for many many years. They are an honest family business and they do amazing work. I was able to, in very quick timeframe, take advantage of the Mass Save rebates to replace 2 furnaces & 2 water heaters. The product they provided was reasonable and super-professionally installed...and my home is from 1789. Mark made what seemed like a very daunting process into a clean and easy endeavor. The 0% loan inspection went perfect, all what was expected and promised!

They've also replaced a wall furnace (with power out during a blizzard) & several misc. plumbing jobs. They are always fast, professional and courteous. I continue to recommend them to my friends and colleagues and I continue to get back ""Thanks"" for great, fast results.

Rapid Response is a gem amongst lots of unprofessional non-call-backer plumbers & HVAC folk.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. For starters it was nice to actually talk to someone when I called as opposed to leaving a message and not having it returned. I scheduled the appointment for the next day and the service was great and I thought the price was very reasonable. I will definitely be using them again.

****Please read before having this company out to your home.

Our water heater went and we woke up with a wet basement and no hot water. I called Rapid Response because they installed it and it was under warranty (6 yrs old). They came out and told me that it would cost $1060 to replace the water heater. I recalled the price being about the same when they installed the original so I asked why would the cost be similar if the water heater is being replaced by the warranty, he did not have an answer other that is was 6 yrs ago. I went upstairs and called my neighbor who went through this a few months ago and he had me call another company so I did. The other plumbing company told me it would cost $550.00 and the could do it today. I went down to the basement to tell the RR guy I was not interested in his quote was almost double, he said okay AND THEN CHARGED ME 89.00 FOR A SERVICE CALL! I kept calm and wrote the check but cannot believe theses guys showing up at peoples homes quoting outrageous prices for jobs and then charging service calls when people realize they are extremely overpriced. Please, get a quote OVER THE PHONE before they come out, it will save you some money.

The other company came and went same day - great work $550.00 as quoted. It was Kaufman Plumbing in Framingham FYI.

If you want to get raped by your plumber then call Mark Freedman. I got charged over $900 to fix a pipe break that was exposed, 20 minute fix, he purged the system of air and then realized I still had a frozen pipe so it took him over an hour to fumble and bumble thinking about the freeze and then he decided to use a hair dryer on the pipe and all of a sudden it worked. The hair dryer fix was $450 just because his black book of pricing says so.

Avoid this company at all cost. Call all the other plumbers in town before you use this guy as a last resort.

Dishonest company. I asked what the fee was for a service visit and was told $49, so i set up an appointment for 7 to 9 a.m. They came 5 minutes late, then told me that in addition to the $49 initial fee, there would be a $200 ""diagnostic fee."" I just paid the $49 and didn't let them rip me off any further.

Unethical business practices! We requested an appointment for an estimate to fix our plumbing problem through the online portal. At the scheduled time today, mechanic SM came to do the estimate and then demanded $149 - for a written estimate following a visual inspection. There were no diagnostics performed, nothing was moved, fixed or altered. This was a visual inspection only. This was not an emergency no-heat situation, nor an immediate/24 hour middle-of-the-night service call. This was simply a request for an estimate on a Monday afternoon.

There is nothing on the website about $149 consultation, site visit or assessment fee. My husband told SM he would not pay the $149, and SM argued that he must. SM left the written estimate of $1,309 for the work plus the $149, and SM then said to pay it ""when we can"". This is not a matter of IF or WHEN we can pay it - we are NOT paying it.

Further, the line item, hand written ""minimum service call fee"" that SM included on the estimate, says $192. Without any explanation of the charge to begin with, SM then wrote $149 due right next to the $192. Huh? I'd like to say he was offering some sort of discount - but I'm afraid not. I believe SM put arbitrary numbers on a piece of paper in an effort to take advantage of us.

I am bothered by the complete lack of professionalism, unethical business practices for non-disclosure of fees, and naturally concerned their ""cost proposal"" (of course, I am being sarcastic calling it that) has little to no logic or methodology behind it. Needless to say, we will not be using Rapid Reponse in any of their locations, but FYI for local folks, this was Mark Freedman Rapid Response, Framingham MA 01703.

I hope that not only homeowners in the area read this, but also the people from Rapid Response. I work in building science, home improvements and much of the work is specifically geared toward homeowners needing plumbing and HVAC work - to the point where our network of contractors did about 25,000 new HVAC equipment installations last year + another 10,000 service & tune-up jobs. I would have been more than thrilled to recommend a new local company to partner with (of course, if they were able to meet the technical and business operations criteria necessary), sadly Rapid Response is far from capable.

For the past 10 years working in the home improvement business, my success is largely gauged on the capacity and capability of my partners to deliver high-quality service to homeowners. I can only warn consumers against this type of company and this experience reaffirms the necessity to set strict credentials for staff and contractors working in the residential home service environment. It doesn't mean anything to me that Rapid Response has been in business for a long time, it just shows they've been doing it one way - the wrong way - for far too long. Rapid Response certainly does not come remotely close to any measure of excellence. Nobody who values the fragility and importance of their reputation would knowingly associate with a business that employs practices such as undisclosed fees and arbitrary scratch-pad quotations, never mind finds it acceptable to be represented by such a low caliber of employee. It is completely unacceptable and I will be sharing this experience broadly.

Agree with prior review. They are expensive, and unable to engage in constructive give and take regarding a diagnostic process. He rejected all my questions, insisted that he was the expert, was argumentative and rude. A uniquely terrible experience.
