THE WORST COMPANY I have ever delt with. The repair lasted for 17 days and then they refused to come out and fix the problem on a system they had installed that would have still been under warranty if I was the original owner. I told them I wasn't going to pay so the charged an old credit card on file. That I'll take up with bank and the police. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!
When you need someone dependable and efficient- this is your team. They are also friendly and well priced for servicing. Had the AC go out and they were here first thing in the morning. Technicians are friendly and very respectful. Top notch in my book.
Tech came out. Could not zero portable scale. Put to much freon in and my compressor went bacd 2 days later. Now they want to charge me almost $250 to come out and fix what they screwed up. This price does not include parts or labor. I recomend to everyone not to use this company! I would give zero stars if I could.
Stay as far away from these people as possible. I never leave reviews like this, but I feel like I need to warn people about this dishonest and incompetent company. We called MC Plum for the annual service of our a/c unit that was installed two years ago. The technician arrives and does the annual maintenance. He informs us that there was some clogging but he was able to clean it out. We thank him and pay the exorbitant $350 for his visit. A day later, we discover water leaking through our ceilings. Sure enough - the a/c unit in the attic is leaking water all over and dripping through our home. Three days later, MC Plum comes to repair the problem. The technician goes up the attic makes his repair and returns to tell us that he decided to drill a hole through the side of our home and stick a pipe out of it. The pipe is now dripping water down the side of our home. If the hole didn't ruin the exterior, the water stains are. When we expressed our displeasure, we were directed to contact the office. We left a message with the office and received a return call with the secretary, technician and owner (we were not notified of the three-way call until well into the conversation). The owner states that the technician says we gave consent for the hole before he created it. We assured the owner that we did not. In fact, our house is going on the market next week and we would've never consented to that. He again insists that we agreed to the structural change/damage beforehand. We refused to get into a ""he said/she said"" battle so we asked how they would fix it. The owner then says that this was just a temporary fix all along and they were planning to come that very day to make the complete fix for the a/c unit but they couldn't fix the hole. The thing is - if the technician had done any real inspection, he would've seen that just a mere three feet over, was a duct he would've used to vent the condensation without putting a hole in the side of our house. The owner then informs us that they will need to charge another $400 to come out to do that repair. A repair that had to occur due to THEIR MISTAKE! We informed them that we will never allow them in our home again. We suggest you look at past reviews on this company and heed the warning. We learned the hard way - I hope this review helps save you some of that heartache and cost.
This is the first time I have ever given a review of a company. Unfortunately, it was such a horrible experience that I couldn't let someone else go through this. This is hard for me to even give them 1 star. DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!!! This is the first time that I have ever been yelled at and hung up on by the owner of the company when questioning an invoice. I had a legitimate concern about being invoiced a second time for additional parts that was ALLEGEDLY installed at the time of service. I was not given an itemized invoice at the time of service, just an ""estimate"" of the work being performed. I didn't understand why the mechanic couldn't have told me about the parts used at the time of installation. Why did I get invoiced for them 11 days later? Sounds a little shady to me. Obviously this is the way they do business when the owner says ""just pay your bill"" and then hangs up on you. In addition to the worst customer service in the world, they are EXTREMELY overpriced.
Matt S.Was estimated $420 on a job at my house and ended up being charged $566 at appointment after the technician called the office for 15 minutes (time I'm sure I was billed for) to get the total. A couple of weeks later I got charged another $200. I called the office. They said, ""unforeseeable expenses"". The technician called to the person at the office. Did the technician not know what he had just done, seems like he had all the information as far as materials used and time spent right then and there. Company overcharges and has terrible customer service. DO NOT USE!!!
800 dollar charge for furnace blower &service. To be paid prior to ordering part.had been a customer for cleaning of furnace for a few yrs. Oct 19th when furnace code E29 [blower will not reset to 0]. workers said they found nothing wrong. Ipointed out to them thermostat # was lower than house thermonater#.furnace kept running. told them furnace sound is not right I told it was fine.that i would need a new blower if it kept needing reset[i had to follow them outside to find that out] called 2 days later still having to reset furnace after everytime it ran.Told Carlotta that I turned off furnace . was afraid to keep resetting . this was day before thanksgiving. was to call back with price. never did call- called fri, said working on it.then late monday the 26th of nov was told price and required pre pay of $800.00 .Had put in a call to another company a few days prior. Bad turned into good, a temporary repair on communication between thermostat, and heater which allowed me uninterrupted heat-.No need to reset for 4 days, prior to them placing new blower. Received order of blower in less than 24hrs from housesupply. my total charges for blower and MCCleary services was $325.00 less. McPlum said 800 dollar cost was because big job. McCleary was one man, one hour job. . MCClearys also gives senior discounts. I will never recommend or have MCPlum do work for me ever again-this was handled so poorly. A $125.00 bill for visit that nothing was done on Oct 19th.
All though pleasant at first, Carlotta their receptionist hung up on me as I explained the pipe the tech installed is now leaking one day later on my hot water heater. The tech also broke my kitchen faucet when clearing the lines and he said if we bought a new faucet they would install it free of charge. This proved to be false as Carlotta said there would be a charge for the faucet installation when we called today. There was no apology for my inconvenience and now with my broken kitchen faucet I can no longer do dishes (no hot water pressure), not to mention the leak which she glossed over on my phone call. All she would say was 'we'll talk to him'. No offer to come over and fix the leak at all. Talking to the tech doesn't help me as I now need to find another plumber to fix their shoddy work and buy a new kitchen faucet. So I've already spent $375 to install the hot water heater. I'll now need to pay another plumber to fix the leak they caused (not sure that cost yet) in addition to a new faucet, $300 and then pay to have that installed which is another $175...that's at least $475 that I didn't intend on spending when MC Plum was contacted to install just a hot water heater. We had work done in the past a few years ago and we were pleased until today. I will never recommend to any one or EVER do business with MC Plum again.
Dave A.Good person on phone. Good worker showed up but they are beyond $$$$. They charged $295 for a 15min fix. Try everything including you tube.
I wish they would understand how off putting this approach is to customers. $295 just to show.
Update: they had to come back since it was a bigger issue than they originally thought. Another $900 later and the problem is solved
I would rather not give this company any starts at all. I am a firm believer in goods and services being delivered and then a consumer duly paying for them. This company charged my family over $600 for ""fixing"" our air conditioning. However they came 2 separate times and still did not fix the problem. After more than 2 weeks without air conditioning we finally just went to another company who could get the job done. We then received invoices asking for us to pay the aforementioned amount. We called and tried to reason with them and ask why we had to pay for services that were not performed correctly - It was one of the least professional and most rude confrontations I have ever experienced. After sending a check that was cashed by them for more than half the invoiced amount, I am now being threatened to be taken to the city magistrate.
That is why I am writing this review, so that if someone is ever looking for a company to do heating/pluming/AC - this company is TERRIBLE. Go somewhere else, hopefully to a company that exchanges competent workmanship for money.
