My main 1/2" main water line into my beach house broke, leaving a wet, awful mess over Memorial Day weekend. I called Luycx Plumbing after hours and a plumber, William Palmer called me back. I explained to him the issue and sent pics before he traveled an hour to me. He walked me through what to look for, what to do, and what the process would be. He came out Saturday morning after getting the necessary supplies, and fixed it right up. The rates were high because of the holiday weekend, but he was very clear on what they were before mobilizing out. He got the job done, was a really nice guy, and the work matched the estimate that he gave me. I'll be using this plumbing company for all my plumbing needs in the Surfside Beach area going forward.

Shame on me for not asking more questions about the pricing practices before hiring Luycx Plumbing. My father in law loves them, but I think he gets senior citizen pricing because he was charged much less than I was for a more difficult job.

The PROS of this company are everything but the price tag. Pleasant office staff, professional and competent plumbers and a successful outcome.

The CON is the pricing. We spent $202.50 to get a toilet unstopped....OUCH. The $135.00 hourly rate starts when the plumber leaves the office.......so the further from the office you live, the more expensive the service. Apparently, one hour is their minimum. After this, 1/2 hour minimums are charged...so you will pay 90 minutes for 70 minutes of travel and work. Surely Luycx can use a bit more precision than billing in 1/2 increments....and a flat fee for travel seems to be the norm for other plumbers in our area.

We will shop a little harder for more reasonable pricing next time around. We do know that other plumbing companies in the area charge a service call flat fee and apply it to the work if hired. Felt like $150.00 should have been on the very high end for such a basic service. Ask your questions up front about pricing with Luycx. I wish we would have.

I had a leak that was occurring from the plumbing outside of my house. I had tried contacting a few other companies before. One had come out and 'fixed' the problem. However, there was apparently 2 leaks and the other one went unnoticed.
The reason I gave Luycx Plumbing 5 stars is solely due to the fact that they exceeded expectations in both schedule and costs. Before I contacted them, I was struggling with dealing with a different local plumbing company. Their plumbers never showed up on expected days. And I was never given a proper quote on the cost to fix the issue. Now, I understand that post Hurricane Harvey has kept many of these companies busy. However, I expect the companies to keep me in the loop at the bare minimum. That's basic customer service 101.
Luycx actually had someone come out a day before they said they would (which is not a problem since it was an external leak, so I did not need to be home for it). They ended up getting the problem fixed at a MUCH LOWER cost, than what the other company had quoted me. The best part was that it was all stress free, they got there, did the job, and charged me (I was also informed that they would have contacted me if the cost would have higher than anticipated. Cost was actually lower, so no need to contact me)
On a side note, I was actually referred to this company by a friend who had a similar great experience, both as a customer as well as cost.
I can confidently say that they will be the first company I will contact again for plumbing needs in the Lake Jackson/Clute area.
