if you've read any of my other reviews you might have noticed I can get pretty granular so in an effort to be more concise... hmmmm... nope, who am I kidding. but maybe I can compromise and chunk it into sections at least.
LIVING IN THE MOMENT: Time will tell, but I'm definitely thinking Justin from Lucky Plumbing is a keeper.
JUSTIN FROM LUCKY PLUMBING: I hired Justin for a rental property sink repair last week and for 3 leaky toilets and a bathtub issue at my house a day later. he was really efficient, responsive, reliable, nice, and professional but still personable and down to earth and very easy to talk with. he was patient and attentive while listening to my issues. he gave me various options from cheap band aids to permanent solutions without me asking. I changed my mind midway with regard to the install of a new fixture and he was no pressure at all. he told me that his 2 brothers own other local plumbing companies so if he is booked he pretty much always has someone available to come. also, I'm a habitual texter and that was my initial contact with him. (just guessing a plumber would use his cell for business) he called me back within 5 minutes max each time I texted, including the initial contact.
BITCHING OUT THE X: (fyi, reading this section could not possibly benefit you in any foreseeable way. however it is making me quite happy to write, so chill...) I used to use another plumber for 14 years. I mean I used him *exclusively* and for *every* building we had including whatever home we lived in, our local rental properties, and the commercial strip we had at the time as well. as time went by he bought fancier equipment (camera snakes and whatnot) and i took note that his prices were climbing. and i also didn't like that he had various assistants that seemed particularly unfriendly and unpleasant to be around which really bugged me. he wasn't the friendliest guy in the world in the first place truth be told. but he was very familiar with the pipes/problems so i kinda let that slide for the minute. plus i assumed i'd built up some goodwill after over a DECADE of exclusively using him and figured i could call on it in case i had an emergency one day so i kept using him. then about 3 years ago one of the tenants said their bathroom faucet was trashed, doing the same thing it had been doing when we replaced it about a year earlier. so i assumed it had been installed wrong or else just defective. it's a beach rental so we never buy expensive brands but they never fail fast regardless and we've owned that building for 17 years now so i'm super familiar with its issues. but either way, i really expected my x-plumber to handle it one way or another because no way was this an issue that either me or my tenant could create and one year is too soon by anyone's standards for the fixture to fail... my x-plumber said it needed to be replaced and that i needed to locate the receipt or pay for a new one. i had no time to locate the receipt and since he made copies of the hardware receipts that he included with the invoices, could he please just find it? he very begrudgingly said he would try to look (but sounded exasperated... and im thinking ""for real!?!?! cuz it seems to me i've never asked you to go out of your way even once in the past...!!!"") okay so i wait like a week and then leave a message for him asking if he found the receipt cuz one way or another my tenants need a working sink. he just never calls back.... seriously?!?! cuz I asked him to locate a receipt??? whatever dude...

OK, this review is long over-due and I'm sorry for that, because Lucky Plumbing is honestly the BEST! We used to use another plumbing company, until early one Saturday morning when I came downstairs to find Yosemite Falls flowing out from the vents in our ceiling! Unfortunately for us, so many plumbing places were closed on the weekends and the few plumbers that were willing to come out wanted double the rates and said it would be hours before they could come over. Sadly, the water valve leading into our house was broken and the main water valve at the road was stuck and required a T-wrench (which we didn't have), so we didn't have HOURS to spare. Right when I was about to start building an ark and gathering the animals, Justin from Lucky Plumbing returned my call and came over immediately!!
So here's why I love Justin though.. 1. He doesn't charge extra for weekends [-say what?!!.. no, it's true! His rates are always the same]. 2. He provides what I call a McGyver (band-aid) option to fix the problem [-think of this as a short term solution so that you can save up the money to get the repair done right]. He also gives you a 'Professional option' for repairs [-this is obviously the repair that everyone ought to have but can't always afford it on the spot]. 3. Justin doesn't pressure you at all. He gives you all the information, tells you the cost and/or tries to provide options for you, and then let's you decide.
Since the Great Flood, we have had Justin return to repair the water valve that leads into our house. That way *IF* this should ever happen again, at least we would be able to turn the water off. He also discovered that our water pressure was too high and so he fixed that for us too!
I recommend Lucky Plumbing to everyone I meet, given that it's hard to find a good reliable plumber that you really trust and honestly, Justin is exactly that!

We had an insurance job for Justin. He showed up on time and installed our temporary tank quickly and efficiently so that the insurance company could continue stalling on getting the rest of the work done. Justin's price for our new water heater was better than we could find online, but he delivered it and had it installed, and took the old heater away included in the price. Thanks Justin I hope your business continues to grow and you remain ""lucky"".

Justin was quick, efficient, flexible, and reasonably priced. He made a house call early to meet my schedule needs. He gave me an accurate quote at a very fair price and was able to turn around and execute the job right then and there.
He knows both water heaters and furnace systems. He replaced our water heater and was able to troubleshoot a small furnace problem without requiring any costly changes to the furnace.
I own a business in San Diego and appreciate hard work. Lucky Plumbing will be my Go-To plumber from here forward!

Justin came out and performed a same-day install of a water heater at a very competitive rate! He was right on time and very courteous. He did a terrific job and I will certainly be recommending him to friends/family.

We called Lucky for a broken shower valve. Justin told us he would be on his way from another job in about an hour. True to his word, Justin texted us an hour later to let us know he was on his way.
Justin was friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with. He listened to our problem, assessed the shower, and quoted us a fair price. Justin finished the job in less then an hour, showed us the repair, and had us test it in front of him to confirm a quality repair was made.
I will use Lucky again in the future and confidently recommend them to my clients.

Our handyman recommended Justin, and we are so glad he did. Justin is polite and honest, and I appreciate that he calls when he's on his way so I can be sure to listen for the door. He has worked on our water heater and refrigerator lines, and has done a great job. His rates are reasonable and on par with other small business plumbers. We definitely recommend him.

When we became homeowners earlier this year, we felt a bit lost as we didn't have a rolodex of contractors at our fingertips - we relied heavily on Yelp reviews when looking for the right people to hire to get our house where we wanted it to be. We saw Lucky plumbing had a few good reviews so we decided to give them a shot. We were not disappointed! The project: We wanted several wall radiators removed from our 1914 craftsman home. (The home had been updated with central heat/ac but the radiators remained and were nothing more than non-operational eyesores). We called several local plumbers and Justin was the only one who said he could do the job. (The other companies said they didn't have experience in providing radiator removal service.) He came in and gave us a very reasonable estimate and promptly had the radiators out within the next few days. A few weeks later, we were having a hot-water heater dilemma (our home is fed hot water through two separate hot-water heaters due to its size and the fact that it used to be three separate units.) We called Justin to see if he might be able to help out. He stopped by that very same afternoon and assessed the problem. He gave us some solid advice on how to tackle our home's hot water issue - recommended we replace one of the hot water heaters with a larger unit. It was understood by all that we'd be purchasing the hot water heater from a local appliance store that would also handle the installation so Justin truly had nothing to gain from giving this advice - he was simply a nice guy helping out a young married couple who was navigating the challenges of being first-time homeowners. Oh, and he didn't even charge us for that last-minute visit! Bottom line, it takes just a few moments with Justin to know that he's credible and trustworthy. Justin is now in our rolodex as our plumber and he should be in yours too!

Found Lucky Plumbing and Justin by ""accident"". Had what seemed like a the time an emergency, not fun plumbing situation. Justin was very professional, on time, explained in detail and in layman's terms what the problem was and the solution. Very reasonable pricing, fast and efficient! Highly recommend!! Thank you for great service!!!

Justin is an awesome plumber and highly recommended by me! I've used him many times at home and at my business. I always feel like Justin makes my problems his priority, but I'm sure he does that with everyone. Tells you exactly what's going on, what he recommends and is more than reasonable with pricing. He wasn't available recently (only because he was on his honeymoon) so I had to use another company, not only did they not do a good job, they were almost double. I'm always using Justin and Lucky Plumbing!
