The woman who answered the phone is extremely rude. She was combative, abrasive and argumentative and very unprofessional. She needs customer service skill and training. She will ruin your day after you speak to her. You will not want to do business with them. She put you down and berated you. It is verbal abuse. You don't need to give them money and be treated like a pest. Pay someone else to do the job who appreciates you. This company acts like they are monopoly, as if no other company on Staten Island that do this type of business. This company doesn't hire the right person for answering the phone, it seems to me based on the interaction I had with them is that this company doesn't believe in customer focus, doesn't have politeness, doesn't have respect for people. This is wrong every way you see it. NO.

I called them as I was having problems with my baseboard hot water heating. The pipes were experiencing a ""water hammer"" when the heal would cycle off. I was told this after explaining what the problem was and they said I needed to replace the zone valve at a cost of $225.00 plus parts

They arrived and replaced the part and the problem continued and they said they would get to me. I just received a bill for $675.00 with the balance being 2 hours of labor.

They never returned and the problem still persists, they even spoke with the super of the coop that day and they were asking him questions in which he responded that they were the plumbers and did not understand why they need to call him.

I made payment for the service but still have the problem.

These guys were in my house for 15 minutes and charged me 272 dollars to replace the fill valve in the toilet. 272 bucks for 15 minutes. Half a star at best. Dont call them if you're smart.

Terrible service. You'll wait weeks for an estimate. When you finally get it, the estimate will be 3x higher than everyone else! They USED to be a very reliable company, but right now the service is awful and prices are crazy. Just use someone else!

Very rude

My family and I have been customers of Buttermark for decades, friends of the Buttermarks as well - played golf with them etc. Called them yesterday to ask them to come help clear a drain and the very unpleasant receptionist or woman who answered the phone said that they wouldn't come and gave us the name for Rapid Sewer. Must be new owners or no longer a family business if you refuse to help a long standing customer, and so rudely. Very sad.

My mother called to make an appointment, the woman who answered the call asked her if she could afford to pay. She was beyond rude, to add further insult, no one ever showed up for the scheduled appointment. We had used Buttermark previously without any problems. They came recommended and at one time lived up to that recommendation. If your company no longer wants the business of certain clientele, then maybe your company should be brave enough to state that. If that's not the case, get rid of that ignoramous who's answering the phone and being blatantly disrespectful. She's clearly uneducated and just bloody ignorant.

Yesterday morning I had no heat and I called Buttermark. They scheduled the service call for the same day at 3:00. The techs showed up on time. They were very polite and completed their work with in the hour. I was kept updated from their office prior to their arrival. I was very happy to have heat. I would recommend this company.

We needed a new sink installed and called Buttermark. Buttermark had installed the old sink a few years prior, so it seemed the obvious choice to call them. The ""plumber"" who was sent had a difficult time removing the old sink that Buttermilk apparently had glued to the tiles. Of course, he broke a tile completely and chipped another one. Now we needed to find a replacement tile, which was taken from behind a bathroom closet. In order to assist, a more experienced plumber was called in.... long story short, we were billed for two plumbers plus extra hours.
Stay away from Buttermark Plumbing!

according to some reviews of Louis Buttermark Plumbing they are not reliable or trust worthy .

Living on Staten Island for 25 Years i have seen their Trucks everywhere including 2 of my neighbors who used them in 2015 and they said they were very good .

having used ''handymen '' in the past and their work was a 50 / 50 and i had to usually help them with just a logically way of doing things and reviewing their pay scale they were as high as $200 per hour for hard jobs .

so i decided to give the Professionals at Buttermark a try and i was extremely happy with their work , they were trustworthy and i was charged the exact rate by the hour !

They did 2 jobs that day and one was installing a shut off valve for gas line of the barbecue .
It was done to codes but they had not addressed the 20 foot flexie house and just pushed it under the barbecue . i was not happy with that due to it would freeze in winter .

i called and told them i was not happy with the hose .

in an hour Mr. Buttermark came to see the job and agreed the very next day a plumber was sent with a home made bracket to wrap the hose on the side of the barbie keeping it safe and very neat !

Now that is customer satisfaction !!!

I would recommend Buttermark to my Mother and Father and everyone !
