This used to be a good company under the prior ownership who sold about 15 years ago to the current owner. That's how far my relationship with them goes back. They serviced my three air conditioner units every spring costing me about $99 per unit even though the same technician came out at the same time to service the units. With their service plan I assumed I would get priority or at least nominal service if I ever needed service. Last summer the drain on one of my fan coils in the attic got blocked and the drainage pan overflowed. It was in July during a hot spell. I called and the clerk on the desk indicated that they had a ""tech out with COVID"" and couldn't get to me for 3 weeks! I hate when people used COVID as an excuse for their incompetence. The reality is that they are under staffed and under managed. Their owner is invisible and the office staff is clearly over their head when it comes to customer relations. Disgusted with them, I hung up the phone without another word and called Ron Lamo, a more local guy in Brielle, who came out immediately and did a fantastic job, making corrections that Long should have made years ago. This is a dying business showing all the signs, understaffed, poor back office personnel, excuses and invisible ownership. Stay away.

So mother in law has a fijitsu split air conditioner that the lid wouldn't open or stay open. Longs came and diagnosed it as bad lid motor that they would have to order and return to replace. $125 service call and than another $240 to come back and replace part. I told her hold on and let me look. Obvious crack in little plastic gear that opens lid. I order new one for $9 and replace it in 5 minutes. Don't know what there intention was but if was to rob some senior citizen they almost got away with.
PS Their answer to my Facebook review was good thing Im handy. It should have been we will talk to the tech that came to your home and find out what happened.

I almost can not comprehend how bad this company is. I made an appointment because our AC system was not cooling our 3rd floor. I wanted an estimate on options to cool the 3rd floor. A rep came out and told us a mini-split ductless system would do the job and be a good addition to our existing system that was functioning properly. He said he would get an estimate to us. As he was leaving he tried to charge us for a repair. I laughed and asked, ""what did you repair?"". He proceeded to explain that Jodi schedules the appointments and she wrote down ""repair"" instead of ""estimate"" so I had to pay for a repair call. Never in my life have I heard of such a thing. Obviously, I did not pay that bill and sent him on his way and said to send us the estimate. I never got the estimate. I called about 4 times asking for it. Finally I got a call from Jodi who told me that I had to pay for the repair visit. After a 15 minute argument, I suggested that she should be better trained in asking questions to identify a potential customers needs and most definitely if she were going to schedule (by mistake) a repair call she should tell the customer there is a fee for the visit. That would clear up the situation because why would I schedule and pay for a repair if nothing was broken. It turned into a big argument and I came to the assumption I was dealing with someone irrational so I told her I had not interest in dealing with such an unprofessional company. They could keep their estimate. Definitely avoid this company.

Got an appointment to have our a/c and furnace serviced in a house we recently purchased. System in the house is only about 3-4 years old. Tech found some issues with the way it was installed, and said he would let salesperson know to call and talk to us about what direction to go. I had also mentioned that there was an older thermostat for the heating and a new one right beside it for the ac, could it be combined. He checked the thermostat for the heating and said the thermostat was bad or the wiring was bad. (no offer to replace it). Following weekend I was looking at the old thermostat, and the timer on it was just not set to come on, not that the thermostat was bad. Felt he was trying to push us into replacing a whole new a/c system that was only 3-4 years old. Also, after 2 weeks, the salesman never called to set up appt to talk to us about any repairs needed. Now have an appointment with another company to come and hopefully give better customer service than Longs did.

Ok so my Ac went out in seaside this week. Called Long's Air conditioning and Heating in Toms River in Tom's river. I explain I need freon. The unit is in a closet on the second floor we are on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building and the condenser is on the roof. There is access through the balcony on the 4th floor. You need a ladder they sent the rudest most obnoxious service tech who took one look and said I'm outta here that's too much work Anyone down here do not call Long's Air conditioning and Heating in Toms River Called the company and they said sorry nothing they can do about it

So disappointed and frustrated - had new AC system installed 4 days ago by Long's at summer house. Returned to find it not working. Tried everything but system would not turn on. Called the office # and got a call from a ""tech"" ( it was after hours) and was told it was $180 for the service call if he came out. The system was less than a week old. The tech was rude and had no customer service skills. If this is their policy I made a costly and stupid mistake in using them.

These guys did such a great job and were fantastic to work with! A non licensed ""hvac installer"" put the brand new furnace and exhaust pipes in my house after Sandy and he did a horrible job. He is obviously no where to be found now, like a lot of contractors that tried to make a quick buck during Sandy. His lack of expertise caused for costly repairs to a furnace that's only 2 years old. Long's did such a great job explaining how things were set up, why things did what they did and were more than fair in their pricing. I will definitely be signing up with them for a service contract each year as I now feel like I have a trustworthy HVAC company that I can call on day or night. Thank you Henry and Megan!

My expensive new AC unit has not worked properly since installed 2 yrs ago. AND...this was after they installed the wrong size unit, left me without AC for 4 weeks in the hottest weeks of the whole summer. Had to purchase a window unit!!
Don't go near these people
