Do Not, allow this contractor onto your property! They retrofitted my HVAC system. I bought a home, the seller bought a home warranty for me, American Home Shield (AHS). Condensed version...May 05, 2022 the A/C needed service, 1st company AHS hired doesn't work in my town. 2nd was Lone Star Mechanical (LSM). LSM came out May 17, 2022, condemned the entire system. AHS agreed and hired them to replace the furnace, evap coil, condensing unit and service disconnect. LSM and AHS were to coordinate the equipment purchase. Other's have mentioned out of pocket cost discrepancies with AHS the 'vendor' and the home owner. Same for me. Three different figures. It took them over 30 days to get the equipment to my house. LSM started the demo and installation June 25, 2022. LSM's work was so shoddy and dangerous I fired them. Today is July 08, 2022. The contractor I hired to fix LSM's mistakes is here now. They've documented (and fixed) numerous, dangerous code violations installed by LSM. Violations that had the potential to start a house fire or electrocute a service technician. I'm not happy. I feel it's my duty to report Lone Star Mechanical to the Texas and New Mexico licensing boards, get LSM shut down before they get someone killed. I'll ask LSM to reimburse me for my added expense!

Used thru American Home Shield after the 1st company would never return phone calls. The problem is my swamp cooler on roof. A company had told me 2 years ago I needed all new stuff. So, the tech that Lone Star said different and was to be ordering pads and motor as a starting point before choosing a complete replacement w/unit. That's not the problem. The problem is that as of today, 6/2/22, no one answers the phone, have been calling since 10 am & it is already noon. And, voicemail is full. What kind of business has it to where in the middle of day, no one is there to answer their phones. I need to know what's going on with the order that was to have been placed.

This company works for American Home Shield. I originally had an issue with my AC, they came out diagnosed that I needed a new one. Was told that I would have to pay for a crane and permit. Received a message from AHS that the 300 bucks I was expecting all of a sudden turned into 1200 and AHS had to provide the AC unit. Lone Star had to order a curb unit and they had the wrong size built. All of a sudden my bill went up again to 1700 bucks approx. After haggling with Lone Star they said I they would eat the extra cost, as they should because it wasnt my mistake but theirs. Now fast forward to winter and the AC/heater unit they installed does not blow heat. Called and Lone Star refused to come out and fix the unit. The co owner/receptionist then told me I had to pay and when I told her that I am not, and if they dont do something I would be contacting my lawyer, she hung up on me. Called AHS and got the runaround as well and they said I had an outstanding balance of 500 dollars+. Seems Lone Star didnt correct their info with AHS. I would not recommend anyone do any business with either company.

I used this company because my home warranty chose the company! I had an issue with my air conditioner which I have refrigerated air. The air conditioner would turn on and then it wasn't coming back on. So the first time two different technicians came out and they said I needed to change the air filter!!!! Lol. So we change the air filter. I said I'll be calling you back because I know that's not the issue. 9 days later the air wasn't working again. I submitted a new service order and a new technician came out. He said he couldn't figure out what was wrong. He said it was my NEST thermostat!!! I'm like that doesn't make any sense. He goes back up to the roof and says that it's a digital fan and that was the problem. So they order the part. He puts the part in and then as soon as he leaves I start hearing a rattling noise. I call them back. Mind you he was messing with my nest thermostat and trying to re-wire it and messed that up!!! So that's two issues going on now that they came to my house. So they send in the first two techs that came out initially and they said the other technician mis-diagnosed the problem. So the lady at the company stated that she would pay the freight or whatever the cost was and would also not submit the claim to my home warranty because their techs didn't know wtf they were doing. So they come out a third time. I'm beyond frustrated!!! They replace the blower. And they still couldn't figure out why that rattling noise was happening. And I submit a new service order. As the techs apologized stated he was embarrassed that he couldn't figure out what was going on. I live in las cruces, NM and decided to call a local company who came today and fixed the issue!!!!! Because lone star mechanical couldn't. They never came inside with their ladders to check the vents and pretty much wasted my time!!!! This company is beyond trash!!!! They do not know how to diagnose and fix anything. So I am leaving this review in case anyone else decides to use them or their home warranty chooses them. Don't trust them. They are liars. They even came unannounced at one point and didn't notify me at all. And they just got on the roof, which pissed me off!! They tried to apologize, so unprofessional on so many levels. Anyways hopes this helps someone!!!

They finished the roof, but was not done professional. When asked to fix, he did it just short of duct taping it. Did not complete work done inside and when asked when he could, he stated were too busy or just plain ignored phone calls. My dad passed away and I feel they just took advantage of my mother. HORRIBLE so called contractor and I would NEVER recommend them.
