Always liked the prompt call back and the fact they are local. Always tried to use local services whenever possible.
But the fact that I feel way overcharged for replacement of kitchen sink faucets has me looking at other service providers in the future, including yearly heating system maintenance.

Lohsen replaced our furnace last year and it has made thumping noises that make the walls vibrate every since. They returned to fix it, but never did. Repeated calls have gone on deaf ears. We called them to repair our mini split air conditioning and Larry came out and spent the entire time here on the phone next to his truck. Never even came in the house. Before he left, he added coolant. That night the house smelled like chemicals -- the coolant leaked into the house and then the unit failed again. We called them to quote a replacement unit and never got a response. We have left messages repeatedly with the answering service. Guess they don't need the business.

After losing hot water and downstairs heat on a Sunday evening, I called Bill Lohsen mid-Monday morning. I reached the answering service, but Larry returned my call and within an hour Caleb and an assistant were in our basement assessing the issue. I appreciated Caleb's customer-centric approach as he patiently explained the problems, pointed out the issues, identified next steps, and postulated potential pitfalls down the road. For the next couple of hours he and his assistant worked efficiently to fix my system, replacing a faulty main circulator, mixing valve, expansion tank, and feed & back flow combo in the process. Midway through the work, Larry arrived to help them. He showed me the flaky residue (see photo) from the rubber piping that circulates the radiant heat and indicated he'd be back in touch to schedule another visit to flush the system. Aside from not hearing from him yet (it's been almost 3 weeks) and the size of the bill (over $1,200, which seemed to make sense to me itemized--it's just a bitter pill to swallow), service was excellent--customer care, attitude, alacrity, expertise, approach--all top notch. If I have a future issue, I will call them again.

Unreliable plumber. Bill Lohsen came to our home in Pawlet to fix the AC that was leaking badly. Drained the hose from the living room (second floor) to the main unit in the garden and told us the problem was resolved.

An hour later we had a bad leak again. When we called him he said, ""it's the tray. I will call you tomorrow. For the next 3 days he didn't return our phone calls but sent us a bill for $88.

We had to called High Tech Plumbing in East Dorset. They came within the hour and fixed the AC. The Tech told us they have 4 Tech's on staff that service old AC's. The AC works great and doesn't leak. They will be our plumber.
