Big M did our plumbing and heating on our residential new construction project. They were professional and easy to work with. Michael took quite a bit of time to answer all my questions regarding things like vent placement, combo unit sizes, hot water circulator- just to name a few (I printed out a sheet of my questions prior to calling him). The crews that worked at our house were prompt and professional. We recently called on Big M for a service call and they didn't disappoint- again very easy to work with.

Terrible service and response:
I called this morning as I saw one of their trucks marked water softener. Here is our conversation:
Me: Morning, do you service water softeners?
Lady: one moment...placed on hold....we are too slammed!
Me: What would be 1st availability?
Lady: one moment....placed on hold...disconnected
I called back and same lady answered
Me: hi we got disconnected, how far out is your 1st availability?
Lady: 2 weeks
Me: ok, what do you charge for the service?
Lady: one moment and hung up on me.
Well that's the end of me ever using that company. I'm a business owner myself and would never have the audacity for responses as such nor would I ever allow any of my team members to responded in such manner. What happened to customer service???

Big M does a good plumbing job, but Big M's charges seem either excessive or inconsistent. In my experience, Big M's minimum charge has varied drastically; I live in a rural area, and while the company's charge the first time was reasonable, the second time it wanted to be paid for work time, travel time, plus two-and-half hours which was neither for travel or work. Another time I was told simply that there was just a two-hour minimum charge. A further problem: though while at my residence the Big M plumbers were cordial, they have proven gruff or inaccessible otherwise--as, for example, when I've phoned their office with a question. I am disappointed and baffled.

The big M stands for big MONEY, if you want to spend more than you need this is the person to call. The price I was quoted was double what I was billed. Stay away from this business.

I had no issue with customer service as the plumber was polite and professional in his demeanor. The issue is that he spent one hour and 30 minutes at my house and charged me $420. The work I needed was a garbage disposal repair, which was simply to take an allen wrench and turn something at the bottom of my disposal, he put in a new head on my water line to my refrigerator, and cut a hole in my drywall to replace valves to washer and dryer. He left the plastic around the valves of the washer and dryer loose (not attached to wall in anyway) and said I could tape it. It did not seem very professional to me the way he left the drywall exposed and told me to tape it up. It also feels as though I was highly overcharged, but perhaps New Mexico is just higher priced for service than California...which I highly doubt. Will teach me to ask for price up front next time.

I found the scheduler, Ms. M, to be very impersonal. She acted like I was sub servant to her whims. I explained how her installers made a mistake and did not make a slot to place the winter damper, winter is here and soon we will freeze, and I am unable to winterize the my new unit. I explained that me and my wife have to ware coats in the morning. Ms. M's attitude was tough luck. Ms. M said someone will be out in 2 and 1/2 weeks. I tried to explain that it was her installers mistake and A&S should put their incompetence ahead of the schedule and, again, It is Winter. She kept repeating in her poor service impersonal manner, too bad I would have to comply with her schedule. I paid more than $1200 for poor service and Ms. M would dictate at what time of the year I can turn on my heater!

Horrible. If you want to pay $215 for 5 minutes of work & $5 in parts, call these people!

A&S plumbing installed a new swamp cooler purchased through Lowe's The installation was made on May 24, 2018. Two men worked about 45 minutes and one man worked another 2 hours, Labor charge was $834 That's quite expensive for the amount of time worked. I had trouble getting the sides of the swamp cooler off and called to see if a plumber could drop by and show me how to remove the sides. I was told that it wasn't included in the warranty. BS I wouldn't recommend them to do any plumbing work at that high an hourly wage. Lee D 8/8/2018

By way of background info I provide the following. Doc, the A&S plumber was to have installed the replacement water softener we bought from Lowe's in Rio Rancho, NM. He did a ""pre-installation inspection."" NOTE: Lowe's advertised the price included basic installation. There had been a Culligan water softener in the home when we purchased it. Therefore, all the required piping was in place. We did not want to continue to lease this softener hence it was removed when we bought the home. I was present when Doc did the inspection. He specifically told me ""everything is there he needs to install the new softener."" He then informed me ""code requires all pipes be insulated then an inspector must perform an inspection."" He advised Lowe's the cost would be $563.00 of which his labor was $441.00. The cost of the softener went from $967-installed to $1530. We contacted Sunshine Plumbing and Culligan to provide their evaluation as to the necessity of insulating the pipes. BOTH indicated there IS NO CODE requirement requiring the pipes be insulated, nor is an inspection required. We cancelled the purchase with Lowe's and purchased a new one from Culligan. The Culligan plumber successfully installed the softener, no pipe insulation or inspection required. BEWARE OF A&S PLUMBING OF ALBUQUERQUE, NM. THEIR PLUMBER DOC IN MY SITUATION IS NOT HONEST AND WILL, AS HE DID WITH US, WRITE HIS ESTIMATE HIGHER THAN IS REQUIRED TO INCREASE HIS INVOICE. ALSO LOWE'S SHOULD NOT CONTINUE TO USE THIS COMPANY TO INSTALL THE WATER SOFTENERS THEY SELL.

Enchantment Plumbing installed a furnace/ac rooftop combo unit at my house Jan 2013. After that, my roof leaked everytime it rained/snowed near the area where furnace/ac was installed. (Roof was replace Sept 2010). I would contact Kevin about the leak & he would send one of his crew to patch the leak. It never quit leaking & I finally got a licensed roofer to patch the leaks. ($800) out of my own pocket. There is also drywall damage inside 2nd bdrm & ceiling stains from the leaks.
Then on Jan 27, 2015 my furnace quit working. I called & texted Kevin several times but got no response whatsoever. I finally had to call Carlson's Plumbing & they determined that it was a faulty gas valve & it would cost $683 to replace which I paid for out of pocket even though Kevin assured me it had a 10yr warranty when he installed it. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!
