Luis was one of the nicest contractors I've ever spoken with. He talked with me in the phone for over a half hour, in an effort to try and help me with a project in a very tight timeframe. He was honest and professional and patient - I don't think I've ever received this level of kindness and service before knowing it may not lead to business. While the timing did not work out this time, Llugo LLC will be at the top of my list for consideration of future projects. They care about their customers, and helping people, and it showed so well in the conversation that I had with them. I highly recommend their services!

I cannot recommend Luis and the entire LLugo, LLC team enough for any home renovation--large or small. I don't think you can find anyone in the DMV area or beyond who will devote so much time and attention to every detail of your project and care so deeply about the outcome and his clients' satisfaction. I was referred to Luis by a friend who had an outstanding experience with LLugo for her master suite renovation, and I have subsequently referred Luis to friends and neighbors for their home renovations. I've heard nightmare stories about general contractors who take your deposit and, once the contract is signed, never show up on site again and are unreachable. For the duration of our five-month project Luis was ALWAYS reachable for questions or concerns and was on site every week. His communication was incredible, day or night, weekends, holidays--it didn't matter. He wanted us to understand what was going on with the project and make sure we were fully informed and comfortable with the steps his crew was taking. Luis also has an amazing team. Beto was our foreman for the project and he became like family, along with Juan who was on site every day. The whole team is extremely professional, kind and considerate. We have shared walls with our neighbors and LLugo's policies go a long way to helping with the inevitable inconvenience of a renovation next door: no smoking, no music, no shouting. Another surprise during the process of working with LLugo is how clean they leave the work site every day. Every single day the construction site is swept and cleaned-there's no trash or debris left sitting around. They also sealed the renovation site from the rest of the house to provide some sense of privacy and to avoid dust from entering the rest of the house.

Our project was extensive- Luis and his team demoed the entire second floor of our home down to the studs, completely re-framed a new footprint, and built out two new bedrooms and two new bathrooms and added new windows. Luis tackled every aspect of our project-soup to nuts. Before we even decided to hire him for our project Luis met with us in person, walked through the space, created a design proposal and then revised the proposal numerous times based on our feedback. We did not use an architect, or a designer, and we didn't need one with Luis. He also handled all permitting and dealt with the historic preservation office for us. Luis also provided us with a detailed estimate that included every imaginable line item plus allowances for our decisions on finishes. He walked us through the estimate patiently explaining every aspect and answering our questions. There were no pressure tactics to get us to rush to sign. Our home is 125 years old so there were some real surprises underneath the sub floor and behind the walls that required major structural work. Luis handled these unexpected challenges calmly and professionally. He and his team were able to address every issue and walk us through every step.

Luis and his team were fantastic! We wanted to rip up existing flooring to expose and then clean/polish the concrete underneath. We thought it was risky, and Luis walked us through it and explained how they would handle the job. They did wonderful work and we love our new floors!

I really enjoyed working with Luis, Beto and their team to renovate my master bedroom suite in my home on Capitol Hill. We completely reconfigured the bedroom and the bathroom, and Luis was able to find a way to make space for everything I wanted. Other contractors had told me that it would be impossible to find space for a separate tub, separate shower and a large vanity in such a small area, but Luis was able to find space for all of that AND an extra vanity without making the room feel cramped. He sat down with me several times to help me decide on the floor plan and was honest with me about how much something would cost and whether it would add real value to the home. He also focused on making decisions that were practical and would add storage space and make the room more functional.

Throughout the process, Luis and Beto always kept me informed on the status of the project. When decisions had to be made, no matter how small, they reached out to ask how I would like to proceed or to make sure I was ok with their recommendation. I really appreciated their frequent communication and advice as we worked through minor unexpected issues. They were exceptional at managing my expectations. Luis handled all of the permitting, inspections, and even material deliveries, which minimized the time I had to take off of work for the project. They also immediately fixed anything that I thought looked off or needed to be redone.

Even though the renovation was delayed because of some custom cabinetry work, Luis and his team kept the work site clean and as minimally invasive as a renovation can be. I plan to use Luis and his team for any other projects I have in the future and recommend him to all of my friends. If you are looking for a contractor who will execute your project with integrity and creativity, Luis is your person!

I am very pleased with the exceptional work from this company. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and at a time that was helpful for the needs of my family. We had two ceiling fans and four lights installed. The two gentlemen who completed the work were efficient and ensured we were happy with the quality of the work. I want to say a huge huge thank you to Luis and his assistant for coming out this morning to our home. I called last week because our house was having electrical problems in the master bathroom that was causing my daughters bathroom to be affected as well. He came out on time and got right to the issue. It was actually something very minor but the fact that he took the time to make sure my boyfriend and I understood what the problem was made us very happy. He was very professional and very detailed in explaining everything. We thought it was something very big and serious at first but he left us in a great mood after we found out the cause. I would deff recommend him for any electrical or contractor work that needs to be done in your home. He is the best and any issues we have in the future I will deff come back to him

I always get at least three estimates prior to any home project. LLugo was competitively priced. Luis' estimate stayed true to the actual cost, which I appreciate more than a vendor who estimates super low, but then increases the cost mid-project. The team was courteous and professional. They did a great job installing a new tub surround, fixing a leaking pipe, demolishing an existing shower, extending a wall, and refitting the plumbing/electrical to make a swanky new master bathroom shower! Another vendor told me that I would ""have"" to retile the entire bathroom, but Luis and his team were creative, technical geniuses who got the job done and all ahead of schedule. I HIGHLY recommend them! ....so much that I've already hired them for more projects at my house!

I live in Michigan and have property in McLean, VA.
After the last hard winter in Virginia the windows and patio doors were damaged by adverse weather and careless tenants in the McLean property. So I decided to fix the affected Windows or replace them based on feasibility either alternative. Naturally my first couple of stops were the 2-big box home stores. Mind you, since I live in Michigan I went to the stores here and asked for competitive bids for work and material to be performed in McLean. They both provided estimates and were in excess of $30k. I asked for the itemized costs and they would not offer that. So, I researched and found L. Lugo General contractors. Called up Mr. Luis Lugo (a very fine gentleman) and he had the windows' measurements done and an estimate provided with costs itemized. His bid was almost 45% less than the least expensive bid by Home Depot! The proposed windows were top of the line fiberglass Marvin Windows. Much better the big-box chain store contractor grade brands. He was on time, on schedule, within the budget and most impressively he sent me photos and videos of the work as it was progressing. He made suggestions where necessary. Remember, I am in Michigan and his company is doing the work in Virginia so this was all long distance. I highly recommend him.
