Lloyd relocated his family from their farm in Colorado to Culver City, California, in 1956. At the start of his plumbing career, he worked two jobs to support his family. By night, he loaded Carnation milk trucks, and during the day, he worked as a plumbing apprentice. In 1965, after receiving his contractor's license, Lloyd moved to Thousand Oaks to launch Lloyd's Plumbing.
In 1980, Ed succeeded Lloyd as the head of the business after Lloyd's retirement. Ed aimed not just for excellence but also for a professional approach. He implemented clean vehicles, uniformed staff, helpful customer service representatives, and a “we can handle anything” mindset for the company.
In 2013, following years of dedication since the 1990s, Ed's sons Ryan and Aaron took charge of the family business. They are committed to continuing the family legacy by delivering the best plumbing experiences with honesty, integrity, and family values!

Recommended Customer Reviews

Just finished an extensive kitchen remodel. We used Lloyd's plumbing for moving all existing water and gas lines. They were the only trades professionals that did what they stated in a timely and professional manner. Their cost was very reasonable, but the quality of their work was the high point of the job. They came back at the completion and installed all plumbing fixtures with no delay and finished with outstanding results. They even recommended a recirculating pump for our tankless water heater. We are thrilled with not having any delay in our hot water throughout our house. I highly recommend this plumbing company for all your plumbing needs.

Service was prompt and thorough. The technician, Thomas, evaluated the issue and determined that a new faucet was unnecessary as the original one could be repaired, which was quickly completed to my satisfaction. He then removed the broken instant hot unit as requested. The work was completed in a timely manner and cost was reasonable for all of the worked performed. Thomas was polite, professional, and explained the scope of work before starting. Overall, an excellent experience.

I almost never give reviews but I feel it's necessary. The faucet was dripping then turned into running and could not be turned off, in the bathroom. The water to the faucet under sink (valves to shut off) could not be moved either--the only way to shut off was to shut off the entire house. My handyman was going to help me but could not come out then, so I called Lloyd's. I used them to install a water heater back in April and it was reasonably priced and work was excellent. I want to state that the WORKMEN WHO COME ARE EXCELLENT/ACCOMMODATING, I have nothing against them. When I called up Lloyd's, I should have taken more note of what they originally said to me before I even got to speak about the problem: that their ""pricing structure has changed."" Now it's a $79 fee just to get an estimate, give upfront pricing, then I have the option to use them and the $79 fee will get waived OR not use them and pay the $79 fee. I do not have a problem with that (except when I was charged twice and they are not refunding the overcharge) and accepted it. I waited the 2hrs for them to come, it was 3pm on Tuesday Aug. 28 when the guy came. The valves under the sink needed to be replaced due to corrosion and a few springs needed to be replaced in both hot and cold on/off faucet knobs. His quote was $462. I said how long for labor, he said it would take him an hour. I quickly called my handyman and no, he did not think it should cost that much. I spoke with the technician and he said perhaps he could just fix the VALVES UNDER THE SINK so that I could turn off the water when not using the bathroom until my handyman could come---he understood that my son was starting high school the next day and having things working in his bathroom or semi working would be best. He knew I could not afford that charge and that I was shocked by it. He then quoted me I believe it was $260 or so--half the price to do half the job, then said wait, he needed to check with his office. So I let him call his office and went outside actually to call my handyman to see how quickly he could come after this guy did that part of work--we could wait a few days then, since we could turn off the water if the technician did that part of the work. I come back inside--nope. Lloyd's office will NOT let him do half the work--only ALL the work. for $462. I sent him away but had to pay the $79 fee. However, I needed to charge it and the charge went thru twice. NOT the technician's fault--he even called the office to see if the first charge went thru, they said no, so he charged me $79 again. Apparently there was a delay in it going through because then it showed up TWICE, on THEIR record and someone actually called me from the office after he left to tell me they were putting thru the credit. And that another person would call me tomorrow to confirm they put credit through (Wed). They did not call me Wed. I called this morning (Thurs) and was told, the person in charge of it stepped out she would call me in a few minutes. That was a few hours ago. No one called me. I called my credit card company--NO refund was put through and both charges still show. My credit card company is now taking care of it.
This is not the complaint I have. I accept the $79 charge.
This is the part you need to hear---my handyman decided to come out later that night to help me out. He went to the Do It Center down the street where they pointed him to the right parts right away. He then did the work in less than an hour and only charged me $100 which INCLUDES the cost of parts which were nominal. OK so WHAT WAS THE $462 FOR THEN THAT LLOYDS WAS CHARGING ME??? the PARTS were found at Do It Center for CHEAP, I did NOT need a new faucet or handles, nothing large or expensive, nor was Lloyd's offering that---he showed me the parts, they were the SAME ONES my handyman bought at Do It Center (for cheap). the WORK took less than an hour plus the technician had told me that it would---sooo, was the work worth over $400 then??? $100 vs. $462 IS A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!
If you want good service without getting ripped off, FIND ANOTHER PLUMBING SERVICE. It seems, this one has CHANGED and will charge you exorbitant amounts.

This service used to be the best in the Ventura Co. region hands down when the father Ed ran the business. Now that the sons have taken over, the prices have gone up sharply and their ability has gone down in equal proportion. The last visit was a litany of reasons why our plumbing leaks could not be physically repaired but a new system for over 5 grand would. Another plumbing service fixed it for around 250 bucks. Friends and acquaintances alike have made similar comments to us. Caveat Emptor.

A few months ago, with an emergency water heater incident at my home-we needed someone to come out late at night to stop a leak and most likely replace our water heater. Lloyds sent out Shane and he is now our hero. We could not ask for better service and at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend the use of Lloyds. And if Shane is your guy-you are quite lucky.

Having an older house we have needed Lloyds Plumbing to come out for various jobs numerous times over the past two years. Each service and repair was done by their knowledgable and professional plumbers who are specialists for different problems. Recently that has been Parker and Richie, who both did excellent work for us. They explained in detail what the problem was and how they would solve it. They were honest, hard working and very respectful, so I highly recommend Lloyds.

I have been using Lloyds Plumbing for years. They immediately respond to any emergency and the folks are always very professional and skilled in their craft. Most importantly, Lloyds Plumbing ALWAYS stand behind their work 100%. They are truly and excellent local resource!

Lloyds Plumbing to the rescue again! Thomas and assistant replaced my leaking tank water heater with a tankless wonder. These two professional craftsman worked diligently with perfection meeting my every request and exceeded expectations. The quality of their work is exceptional and customer service noteworthy.
If you want professional, exceptional workmanship with a customer focus, call on Lloyds Plumbing and ask for Thomas and his assistant, you wont be disappointed.
Thank you Thomas and assistant! sorry i do not remember the assistants name, this 22 year old solders pipes like a senior craftsman.
This was an enjoyable experience.
Thank you!

Shane from Lloyd's Plumbing was phenomenal! We called him for a second quote for a simple rooter job. Our previous quote from Dutton Plumbing was $26, 000 as they said we needed new EVERYTHING, and scared us into thinking rooting our pipes wasn't a possibility. The truth of the matter was all we needed was a $150 rooter job and it WAS in fact possible. Thank you Lloyd's Plumbing but most of all thank you Shane for your professionalism and honesty!

I had a back up in my kitchen and laundry drain and had only been in my new home for less than two months. After getting a second and third opinion, I have opted to save up for my re-route. Turns out I do have a small portion that is in the beginning phases of corrosion but Tony, the drain tech at Lloyd's (my third opinion and recommended by my realtor) was at least able to clear my line and get my house functional again. Two other businesses through my home warranty couldn't even get the line clear and recommended tearing up my floor and cutting through to my very old pipes. With Lloyd's, I also did a hydrojet and he used the camera again to confirm my issue. However, he told me bottom line that unless I start backing up again, I should just save up and soldier on until my hand is forced. He was honest and forthright and I am completely grateful. As long as I live in TO, I won't use another plumber. Thank you Lloyd's for looking at me as a person and not just as a flashing dollar sign!!
