The most unprofessional, lazy company you could come across for anything you are needing with your AC or Heat. Their first visit they were extremely rude and actually mocked my brother for being a home owner at 24 (apparently that's something to mock someone about? - maybe because they're still living with their parents/family at their old age). However, they stated they would order the parts needed and keep us posted about when they would come in and when they would be back.
My brother follows up with them a few days later - finds out that the parts have come in but apparently they just had not picked them up yet? (Interesting). Meanwhile its climbing to 90 degrees outside and we're melting in our house with no AC but the LK employee was extremely dismissive complaining of a hurt back (like that's our problem - don't you have other employees?) and that it was going to be cooler the following day so we would be fine...seriously? He gave my brother no time estimate of when he would be picking up the parts or when he would be to our house. DO NOT waste your time with these absolute jokes. I don't know how they call themselves a business.
Very similar experience to Chris N. Younger repairman was professional and answered my questions, while the older repairman was incredibly rude, making sarcastic comments and repeatedly referring to me as ""Mr. Homeowner"" to his coworker. He also ordered me around my own home, acting incredibly unprofessional. The younger repairman diagnosed the issue and said he would submit a follow-up to my warranty company for the next steps for fixing the issue, but I will be asking my home warranty company to send another company for future work. Please avoid LK Mechanical and take your business elsewhere.
Chris N.After not fixing the issue the issue they were sent out to repair the first trip two repairmen arrived at my home a second time. The older repairman reeked of alcohol and was extremely rude... In fairness the younger repairman was competent and professional.
After determining the cause of the issue to be the drain hose which was preventing the AC unit from draining water the repair person proceeded to drill a 1/2"" hole in the bottom of the unit where the water was collecting rather than fix the issue. Water could now drain but was draining straight across the cement of the basement floor to the drain rather than being channeled there by a hose.
I wonder which HVAC school in the USA teaches repair people to bypass the drain hose by punching a hole in the HVAC unit???
In any case I've asked my Home Warranty company to send out another company to repair the damages done and will not allow LK Mechanical in my home again based on this experience. If I could select zero stars I would.
Five home visits to fix the problems. Left loose screws on floor in two locations inside the house and dropped screws in the driveway.
So, my A/C went out on a Tuesday night and it was the first time for the year that I needed to turn my A/C on. My thermostat had been turned off for weeks. Tried turning it on and nothing. The fan wouldn't turn on, the A/C wouldn't turn on, and not even the heat would turn on. I had no clue what was wrong. I called my home warranty company and they recommended an HVAC guy. I looked online and that company had horrible reviews so I called back and asked for alternatives. LK Mechanical was one of them, so after doing some research and looking at their website, I called my home warranty company and asked them to assign my claim to them. I called at around 8:00 PM on a Monday night.
Larry at LK Mechanical called me at 7AM the next morning, Tuesday morning, and offered to come over right away that same day, in the morning or in the afternoon. Due to my schedule, and since it had cooled off a bit, I asked if he could please come over Wednesday morning and he said yeah.
Larry got here at 8am, per my request, we chatted with me for a little, he took a look around and diagnosed the problem right away. There was a short in some wiring that caused a fuse on the A/C unit to blow. He changed some of the wiring leading to and from the unit, and to the mother board, and replaced the fuse, and within about 15 minutes my A/C was working. I was impressed.
I was fearful that my transformer or mother board had gone bad, but luckily that wasn't the case. Should that happen, I'm thankful that I have a home warranty. And, should I have A/C or electrical issues in the future, I'll happily give Larry a call.
