I haven't needed LBB for a few years (have not needed plumbing services) but I have used them probably 10 times over the last 20 years. I was a little surprised by the reviews of them. I've always found them to be polite and the quality of their work very good. Sure I could have taken the time to research on YouTube how to fix this or that, gone to hope depot or ? to get the parts, put down a drop cloth and fixed many of the things they've done for substantially less BUT I really don't have time for that. I just want someone to come in and fix it and go (and that's what they've always done). Furthermore, I'm pretty sure this is a father and sons small business...not a big fleet operation. You get the sense (at least from the sons...not much interaction with JC), that they are good folks. Certainly I never got that icky feeling you can get from suspicious looking 'service professionals' entering your home. You know, the 'Oh I better go hide the valuables.' feeling? That alone is worth a few extra bucks. One final comment on the DIY people out there. I look at it this way: When I call a service person to my house, I'm not asking them to come and give me a tutorial on how to fix things (again I have Professor YouTube for that). If they show up with a van full of tools, a good inventory of parts, experience and know-how from years of work in my community, are professional enough in look and communication, then I absolutely expect to pay some kind of minimum charge and let's face it: EVERYTHING comes at a premium in McLean, Virginia. It stopped being that cute little country-ish town outside of DC over 2 decades ago. Remember that great feeling you got driving up 123 or Chain Bridge Road and those stunningly beautiful horses would go bounding across the expansive pastures at Evan's Mill? You know...where the 3M+ gated neighborhood with nearby metro stop now stand... HELLO! :)

They are incompetent and dishonest ! I called them yesterday for a leaky kitchen faucet and they got there within a few hours. That's where my good experience ended...

2 guys were here for 10 minutes, charged me $85 and told me the snap on coupler was cracked and had to be replaced. OK, not so bad I think...probably a $50 part.

Ahh....the problem however sir is that the manufacturer no longer makes that part and we're just going to have to replace the WHOLE SYSTEM FOR $450 !! Yup, that's right, had a lady down the street with the SAME problem just last week and those parts still haven't come in yet !! Can you believe that...what a coincidence !!
They also gave me the good cop, bad cop routine which was really insulting.

The good news they told me though is that we'll knock off the $85 we just scammed you out of if we do the work....gee thanks I thought.

So I called a competitor and told them of my dilemma...he said check with the manufacturer, they may warranty that part. So I called Grohe who makes the thing and boom....new coupler UPS the next day for no charge to my house with instructions. No tools needed and it took me 15 minutes. I also called a plumbing parts distributor in the area and they had the exact part as well for $38. But according to JC Blue, the owner, he was ""told"" they don't make them anymore and that's why I MUST replace the whole system.Gee, thanks for being thorough JC.

When I called the company back to complain, I got ""oh we never said that"" we said such and such was out of date....complete BS and they know it. They are used to taking advantage of older, rich people in McLean and getting away with it. Their BS was sooo transparent, it wasn't even funny.

Their prices are ridiculous. They billed my company $550 for 20 minutes of work. Fixed a faucet leak and a toilet leak. They probably spent less than $15 in material (you can buy repair kits at Home Depot for $10).

I have hired this company on two occasions, and both times, I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and expertise. I've seen many plumbing companies, and Little Boy is by far the best. Highly, highly recommended!

I needed someone to install a gas line from my basement to the kitchen (we were installing a new gas range to replace an older electric one). Also, I needed someone to install two toilets that I had purchased and had delivered from Lowe's in Chantilly.

Bray and Scarf (from whom we are purchasing the stove) gave an estimate for the gas line of $390. LBB's estimate was over $1000!

Lowe's price for installing the toilets was $155 each, and LBB's was over $300 each.

I can't comment on the quality of the work, but the prices speak for themselves. In addition, the plumber almost forgot to keep his appointment with me (until he was reminded by his wife). He also promised to have an estimate to me the next day (Wed) but by Friday I had heard nothing. I called again and was promised that the plumber would call me. My wife also called saying we needed to get his done quickly. It was about 2 hours later that we got the estimate. Maybe the plumber didn't like getting called twice and gave a high bid so he wouldn't get the work. Even then , I would have to rate the business as unreliable.
