Liscinsky Plumbing delivers top-flight service. The father and son team is prompt, extremely efficient, consistent and fairly priced.
We were very happy with the tub they installed for us seven years ago, and we were equally happy with the installation of a new water heater this week. Lazer-focused on the job at hand, the father and son have little time for chit-chat--thank goodness.
With the retirement of Delmarva plumbing, there is no other reasonable choice for plumbing in the Montgomery County area.

As others have written, Mark is not very talkative or personable. But he is dependable and a good plumber. He arrives on time and takes care of business efficiently. He installed a brand new water heater that later failed, more than once. He came out to repair it twice and each time we thought it was fixed but it's failed again. My biggest complaint is now that it's clear that the heater is a lemon and I need a new one, he's let me know that I'm on my own to work with the manufacturer and try and get it replaced. Not happy about that.

Mark is good if you have an easy fix that he can determine the cause quickly, but if its more complicated and not easily solved, he's not your plumber.

So he was great when we needed our facet and hand held shower installed, it was just a process of removing the old one & installing the new one. He comes with an assistant and was able to do both jobs in less that an hour and then they were gone. Another time the water level in my toilet was strangely low and I had no idea why, he came and determined a pipe was in the wrong place (in the back portion) and easily adjusted it, then the water filled the bowl correctly. I paid him for his time and he left.

Unfortunately his most recent appointment in Dec 2019 there was a leak under our drain for our kitchen faucet. I thought it might be the pipe underneath the floor, he determined no, it was coming from somewhere under the sink. He said leave newspaper under the facet to determine leak location, then call him back and he'd return to repair. Well I did that and he completely ignored me like I never called. Then I sent him a photo of the leak (on the paper), no response. He wasn't interested in returning and never returned my calls or texts.

Our contractor RJL Services hired Mr. Liscinsky to work on plumbing in our kitchen, three baths and a laundry room. We have had nothing but problems with all three. We have had ceiling leaks in two rooms because of sewer and water lines that were barely attached. An improperly sized wax ring horn fell into our sewage line creating a blockage that may require the costly tearing up of our basement floor in order to fully repair. A drain pipe was installed over an electrical outlet. In addition, hot water comes out of the cold water faucet in the master bath. I could go on.
Suffice it to say that you should stay away from this company.

Called and left a message that I needed a plumber for a couple of things. Never got a call back.

Called when I had a leaking pipe and they promptly responded and were a Le to come over to my house within a day of my call. They were professional and got the job done well.

Note: if for some reason they have to cut through dry wall to get to some piping, I would have a your go-to drywall handyman on hand to follow up with their work.

Mark Liscinsky isn't chatty and doesn't even smile, but he's reliable, on time, and very smart. He fixed a problem another plumber had given us a $3,000 estimate for for about $600. I would hire him every time.

I hired Mark Liscinsky back in 2005 or 2006 based on a second-hand, un-endorsed ""recommendation"" from Plumbing Parts Plus, in Rockville. I was familiar with the guys at PPP and had purchased an unusual TOTO toilet and, despite having installed a dozen toilets, couldn't get this one in right. The guys at PPP recalled that Mark had helped someone else with a similar install. I called Mark and he was familiar with the install, so I had him tackle that and a bunch of other small plumbing tasks in a house we just purchased.

As the previous reviewer noted, Mark is a to-the-point guy, which can come off as stand-off ish, but that doesn't change the fact that Mark was knowledgeable, straight-forward, honest and fair in his pricing. Mark (and his apprentice) ended up being at our house for several hours to install the odd TOTO toilet, to move one toilet from one room to another, to install a new kitchen faucet, and to fix two leaky faucets. He was focused on his work, diligent and his charges were not only fair, but exactly what he told us they would be (or maybe slightly less).

I should have posted this review years ago, but, thanks to Mark's work, haven't needed a plumber since then. An inquiry about plumbers from a friend reminded me that I have a new project I don't want to do myself ... so Mark came to mind. I certainly will call him first about my pending project ... and you should too.

I called Mark Liscinsky to repair a handful of plumbing issues around the house. He was honest about the issues and options, committed to doing the repairs right, and fair in what he charged.

He's a man of few words, so what may seem curt is simply his style. He's the only one working, so he may ask to schedule you along with others in your area. I know he covers much of the area, though, as he's done work for me in Northwest as well as my parents and my uncle in Montgomery County.
