I was in serious trouble and in need of an emergency clean out installation due to some aging clay sewer line and backup issues, and these guys came out on the day before Christmas Eve, gave me no nonsense or up-selling, and completed the job on time and well under the original (worst case) estimate. Also, I've never dealt with a more candid and clear contact person on the phone, who thoroughly explained availability, process and pricing. Everyone should have this level of courtesy and professionalism. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to use them again.
After much difficulty getting companies to return calls, come out for an estimate, then give me an estimate I returned to Yelp looking for someone to repair/replace our catch basin and found Lncoln.
We had two companies come out. The first estimate was $12,000 from a ""chain type"" company. (14,000 if I used their financing.) They insisted on replacing the PVC pipes found in the drains and replacing them as well as taking care of the catch basin. They also gave a hard sell and warned that my foundation could be damaged from rain water. The second company gave a verbal estimate of about $6,000 but never got back to me with an official estimate even after I called back. They were going to replace the basin.
Left a message for Lincoln. They returned my call the same day and set up a morning appointment for the following day. The dispatcher was friendly. Phil and his co-worker arrived a bit early, which I love. Said since only rain water went in the catch basin it could be repaired. He was able to start work then and there. There was no mention of the PVC pipe as the drains and the basin were two different issues and he didn't try to convince me to get new drains. In addition to cleaning out mud in the bottom of the basin, they repaired it, rodded the main pipe and replaced a piece of that, and replaced the lip. The total charge was $800.
They were efficient and no-nonsense which I appreciate. I would go to them anytime I needing plumbing/sewer work.
Christine T.After working for 30 minutes on our clogged catch basin they said we needed a specialized service instead. When I asked how much we owed them he said Nothing! When was the last time you got a free service call? These guys are the bomb.
Paula H.Perhaps, for some basic maintenance or smaller jobs, Lincoln is fine, but I had a problem they did not know how to fix except to recommend that I pay an additional $2K for a solution that I came to find out isn't even permitted in Chicago. I tried a different plumber who fixed the matter in the same amount of time for just a little more than these guys charged me.
About a month ago, I had sewer repair work done by Lincoln. They broke through cement to remove an old clay exterior rain drain P-trap that had deteriorated, replaced a couple of sections of pipe, and then relaid the cement. They also rodded out to the street.
Whenever there was a heavy rain, flood water would come through the cracks in the ""cove"" where the basement wall meets the floor near the basement door leading to the exterior stair walkout. Lincoln correctly diagnosed the problem as a broken p-trap. Douglas came with one other person on time, efficiently broke through the cement landing and put in a new clay piece with a 2 foot extension. He showed me the old clay rain drain that they had removed - it was collapsed and completely plugged up with rocky clay, so it was no longer draining out to the catch basin. The house is 100 years old, and the pipe was no doubt original. They smoothly re-laid the cement at a pitch so that the water flowed toward the drain, and cleaned up afterward. No muss, no fuss; they were done in no time. They even rodded out to the street at no extra charge. The problem was fixed, and there has been no more basement flooding near the back door! Yeah!
Lincoln had been recommended to me by a neighbor. I got quotes from three sewer contractors, and Lincoln's was actually the lowest ($850.00). One of the companies I spoke to was not even interested in investigating the rain drain, but only wanted to sell me an interior drain system with a sump pump for $6,000. Problem was that the interior drains are no longer allowed in Oak Park. Well, we are happy that we got the problem fixed by honest, competent people. It was a pleasure doing business with them and I would recommend their sewer service in a heartbeat.
i thought i had written them a review before, but i guess i forgot. a couple years ago, they gave me a reasonable price to tie in a floor drain to a downspout at a low corner of my house and also tie in a basement drain to the sewer. they did a great job, even handling the permits. i needed them again yesterday because i had a persistent clog at one of my rental properties, and even though my contractor found someone to come out sooner (and ultimately figured it out), lincoln sewer was ready to come out same day for me (actually within 2 hours!!). these guys are a life-saver!
ME M.I have these guys come over to my house every few years to rod my main and kitchen sink lines. They're really great. They're always on time, very polite and efficient. When I called them this morning I told the lady that it wasn't an emergency and that I could wait a couple of days. Without hesitation, they scheduled me for a 1pm slot, came over and took care of business! I highly recommend them!
I called Lincoln Plumbing and Sewers on Sunday afternoon for a non-emergency and they scheduled me for first thing Monday morning. My doorbell rang at 8am and the guys worked for 45 minutes, rodding my main line of tree roots. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. I would recommend Lincoln for any sewer or drain issues.
I had a backup in the front line and got a quote from another company to clean out the roots. This other company said it would cost $285 for the first hour, plus an additional $75 for the camera if I wanted to see the line. Lincoln gave me a quote over the phone of between $175 and $225. I decided to go with Lincoln based on the reviews and that their upper limit was still less than the other company's minimum charge. Lincoln was here for awhile removing lots of roots; they called ahead, came on time, and were very professional. In the end, their final charge was the lower of their range estimate----exactly $175. The line is completely clear. I'm definitely using them again.
I can't say enough good things about Lincoln. My home flooded when the city sewers backed up from a huge storm just before 4th of July 2014. I live in an old house on one of the sunken lots in Bucktown. I had 4 different plumbers/sewerage guys out to given their opinions on a potential fix. Everyone said something different. Robert, from Lincoln, was the only one who seemed to know what he was talking about. I don't have any practical plumbing experience, but I have an engineering degree and have some understanding of fluid dynamics. These other guys were going to make my house flood even worse! Robert was the only one who identified a backyard drain as a potential problem and suggested rerouting it. Lincoln rerouted that drain, fixed a broken sewer tile (that required digging through my basement floor), and installed a flood control system (backflow valve and pump) for the same price that another company quoted for just the flood control system. Also, there were a bunch of problems that cropped up along the way (e.g. leaks in our main water line). Lincoln fixed them all and didn't charge us another dime. They even moved the project up ahead of schedule because they thought we were at risk for flooding again.
Really just a top notch company. They know their stuff, they are professional, and they have really reasonable prices.
