My whole house water heater went out on Saturday. I looked up a certified Rinnai service tech and Lightfoot came up so I called and asked if they could send someone out but only if they had normal failure parts on hand. I was told they do have parts on the trucks. Emergency Saturday,Sunday after hours calls are $249 trip charge. This does not get applied to your repair. Regular hours trip charge is $89. I told them to send someone Monday. The tech was great but, the diagnosis was going to be $300, and parts and repair would be a flat $749. It turned out to be a $16 water flow sensor that fits several models. He didn't have it on hand and had to order it. So, to order it and come back it would cost me $89 for trip charge, $300 to diagnose (which consists of calling the help line of the manufacturer and going through a flow chart) and then $749 to come back and fix it. They should never have told me they had parts to fix it on the truck, and then say "well we have some parts" it's the call centers fault. I paid the $300 diagnostic fee, and the $89 trip charge (good thing I didn't have them come on the weekend for $249 trip charge) and said thanks. I learned a lot from this, and lost a days work, and several hundred dollars. I ordered the sensor online for $16 and had it shipped next day air for $30. Seems very excessive to charge those rates, there was no way around the $749 for a sixteen dollar part. By the way a new unit is $1,300 not including install. I understand business have to charge and be competitive but as a business owner myself I'm having a hard time understanding how they justify this.
I must say the tech was very nice.

I called them at 10:40 am for a plumber, they said someone would be here between 12-5. My tech arrived at 4 and said I needed a AC tech. He said he would call and another tech would be dispatched to my home today. I called them back at 8:20 to confirm they were still coming out. They saw it in the system but no one was ever dispatched. They told me someone would be out between 9-10. They called me back at 8:50 to let me know I would be charged $250.00 after hours fee for their mistake.

We were looking at record-breaking heat not long polite, ago and my air conditioner decided it was a good time to go out! Lightfoot was so fast and their people were so nice, any waypolite and a joy actually to be around. They were very respectful and went out of their way to help in . Youanyway they could. The job was done ASAP and I am very happy with the work and the new friends I made :) Thank you all so very much you are #1 in my books.
If you are looking for a company that is all about customers then you have found it here, I 100% would recommend them.

Since when do "GOOD guys" have to announce to and try to convince the world that they are good guys?
These guys are F#%!ing crooks.
Where do I start? $380 for a rubber flapper toilet seal thing. It took me 30 minutes, $19.99 at home depot, and a YouTube video.
They told me my entire HVAC system needed to be replaced ($4,000) when I called them out to blow out my secondary drain line and that it was frozen due to pet hair... WRONG. HOUK HVAC company came out advised me to remove the water that was standing under the unit and that it would unfreeze since the air was pulling moisture onto the cold coils and that was causing it to then freeze. I used my wet/dry vac, removed the water and the system has been running fine ever since. HOUK DIDN'T CHARGE ME A PENNY FOR THAT WHILE LIGHTFOOT CHARGED ME $300 to turn the system off, clean it, and just to have it freeze back up.
THEN we have the $850 garbage disposal... for a $88.10 Badger 5 from Home Depot. THEN he said he would do it for $450. 20 minutes later after sitting in his truck he knocks on my door again and says he'll do it for $250... really? A $600 swing on a $88 garbage disposal? So feel free to say "NO!" to their extreme prices and they'll come back with a price that is lower than their initial 300% mark-up.
"We're the good guys"? YEAH RIGHT! SINCE WHEN DOES A GOOD GUY HAVE TO SAY HE'S A GOOD GUY? When I called the office to talk to someone about my experience all the lady wanted to do was argue and then tell me about their different level of services and warranties on the $88 garbage disposal. NOTHING CAN EXPLAIN HOW YOU TELL A CUSTOMER $850 FOR A GARBAGE DISPOSAL JUST TO FINALLY COME DOWN TO $250... WHAT IF I HAD PAID THE $850? YOU "GOOD" GUYS WOULDN'T HAVE SENT ME A CHECK FOR $600!!! CROOKS AND DONT BE SCARED TO GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE PAYING FOR THEIR SERVICES.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOUK HVAC FOR YOUR HVAC NEEDS. They have never once screwed me over and give me upfront and honest advice even if that means they make no money.

I have to question whether some of these reviews are real, because I've utilized Lightfoot Mechanical at every level and every experience has been wonderful. We all get mad when we are told we have to shell out $2000+ for a new water heater, $4000 for a new HVAC or even $500 for plumbing, but you get what you pay for. If your goal is to get the job done cheaply, then call Igor over in the trailer park to make the repairs. If you want quality repair or installation, then pay to have it done properly with a company that stands behind their work.

Lightfoot Mechanical is terrible company all the way up to the top. They'll block your number if you call and complain. Overpriced and under delivered. Charged annual service agreement and just take your money and will not service if they've blocked your number or refund.

It's been a year.. . Here am I again.... it was 80 in my house after a very long day at work. Jason came right out, was very patient, found the issue and is fixing it as I am typing this.
Jason, you've restored my faith in this company and even convinced me to get another membership. I can see why you're a supervisor!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I used Lightfoot for a new AC unit a few years ago and have continued to use them for maintenance. I recently got some plumbing estimates from them and the cost is outrageous! They have also started to recommend upgrades to my AC that is only a few years old, upgrades that I believe are unnecessary and believe they are now just upselling to make money every time they come do maintenance. I'll be looking for a new company to use for AC maintenance to avoid all their sales pitches. I don't recommend them anymore.

I called regarding their $99 cleaning special, (which I am no longer seeing on their website btw)...the young lady spilled a LOOONG list of things they were gonna do, etc, and she was very nice and courteous. So, Sunday I received a text confirming my appointment for yesterday. Finally, about 3:30pm I received a phone call from Bobby K.- again, very nice and courteous. So, he arrived about 4pm, looked at our unit and proclaimed that it was TOO DIRTY w/ cottonwood and that it would "take too much time" to do!!! Well, I called them because my unit was DIRTY!!! He even told me he would have to take the top off the unit, but mine was just too clogged...for $99, that is!No, it woukd cost $585 to clean our unit! LOL. Wow... He even said "I'm surprised its still running!" Well, if he had showed up at maybe 2 or 3, he could have had time to clean...or is the so-called cleaning only for clean units??? I never understood the requirements of the level of cleanliness that was needed for them to actually CLEAN it!!! After seeing these other negative reviews, it just proves to me, like so many other companies today: they offer a great-sounding deal that has inherent loopholes and conditions that are meant to get you into paying a lot of money in a time when everyone is struggling. Could Bobby have just done me a solid and cleaned the unit out of the kindness of his heart? No... It was 4pm and they close at 5. I get it. But from the reviews I'm seeing and the service they are NOT providing, the owners of this companey better reasess their priorities and take a look at more than the bottom line. This type of anti-business is becoming more and more common. Greed is a bad thing...dishonesty and lack of integrity are even worse.

After David from Lightfoot left, we discovered that our thermostat was no longer working to control our HVAC system. This was not the repair we called them to repair. I called the next morning and Lightfoot sent out another technician who showed up hours earlier than our appointment. He looked at the problem, but left our house without fixing the mess that the first technician left. He could not figure out what caused the problem. We have requested a refund of our money in order to pay another company to repair the mess they made. The technicians were seriously lacking in knowledge, Jack was disrespectful and argumentative, and both technicians pushed for us to buy high-dollar repairs, one in the $5,000-$10,000 range.
