They came out once through AHS. Said repairs need to be made. Never returned a single call or followed up. I spent hours trying to figure out what to do, but since they were the company I was referred to, I was stuck with them. Completely worthless and not reliable... just terrible.

We are just thrilled with Jason at Lewis Plumbing. Just days before our family drove in for our crawfish boil, our garbage disposal broke. (We had also been dealing with two leaky faucets.) After filing a claim with AHS, Lewis Plumbing called promptly and stated they could be out by the next morning.

In addition to being extremely polite and friendly, Jason was efficient. He had a new garbage disposal installed in a matter of minutes, and informed us that we needed a new faucet in one bathroom (did not use standard parts and was leaking like crazy) and a new cartridge in the other faucet. Because we had family coming in over the weekend, I was panicked. Jason took it upon himself to squeeze us in and both replaced the the first faucet and fixed the second before the weekend.

Admittedly, we sometimes worry about who AHS sends out, but we were very pleased with Jason from Lewis Plumbing!

AHS vendor when my garbage disposal went out. They came out the day after I called and set me up with a new disposal in only about 15 minutes. Very professional, on time, and in and out fast.

I'd give no stars given the option. First off, this guy is impossible to contact, as outlined in just about every review on his page. I had a water heater replaced through American Home Shield, which initially seemed fine. One month later my utility bill had essentially doubled, but my actual usage had actually been lower. Second month, same thing. So I decided to reach out Lewis Plumbing to see if they could take a look at their install to make sure everything was "ok". Called everyday for a week, no response. I had to go back through American Home Shield to get in touch with him, but by then I had to pay another $100 service fee.. There are a lot of good plumbers in Austin. This isn't one of them, and it's sad that American Home Shield chooses to work with these type of contractors.

When my wife and I received a larger than usual water bill, more than twice what we normally pay we knew we had a leak somewhere in our plumbing system. After doing the standard DIY checks and turning up nothing we knew we would need to call in a professional to identify and repair the leak. Since we purchased our house less than a year ago the seller had provided a home warranty service through American Home Shield that we decided to give a try.

The process to report the issue was simple and straightforward, and B B Lewis Plumbing called to schedule an appointment promptly. This is where things turned south. The next day I had an important family engagement come up that was going to force me to reschedule my plumbing appointment. I tried contacting the contractor several times throughout the day and left multiple voice mails to no avail. The following day I called American Home Shield and reported that I could not reach the contractor, the representative was very helpful and said that they would reach out to the contractor for me. They were also unable to reach the contractor and said that they had left him a voice mail and he would contact me soon. The weekend came and went and I was forced to return home early from visiting with family to be at my house to meet this contractor at the original appointment time.

It was at this time that I finally received a call from B B Lewis claiming he received my message and would like to reschedule. I explained that at this point there was no point in rescheduling and that I was available to meet him now. He then told me that he had already filled the time slot and would need to schedule the appointment for the next day. I reluctantly agreed.

The next day he arrived and within 5 minutes explained that he could not perform any kind of leak testing, the exact service I had requested from the home warranty company. This was very infuriating that the contractor assigned couldn't even perform the work that I had requested. I had also included the fact that my water heater wasn't igniting the pilot light and B B Lewis took a look and declared that I needed a new ignition switch. He explained that he didn't have any currently, but he would talk to his suppliers and track one down by the end of the day.

5 pm rolled around and I began to get worried, I gave him a call and got the usual voice mail. I left two messages and called the home warranty company who were finally able to get a hold of him only to find out he had not secured the part that he said would be easy to get the same day. It wasn't until two days later (and several phone calls) that he finally returned with the part and repaired the water heater.

B B Lewis is unreliable, and nearly impossible to contact. If you ever are assigned this company from your home warranty company call and cancel until you get a different contractor.

AHS finally lit a fire under their worthless asses and they called to schedule an appointment on a Friday. I took the day off work to be there... they didn't show up, didn't answer my calls, nothing. Remarkably it was the best service we have received from them thus far.

They finally did show up the following week and 'fixed' their crappy install. They initially denied that they were the ones that installed it but we quickly proved them wrong. The plumber they sent in couldn't make any decisions on his own and kept on having to go out to the the worthless POS owner who sat in his truck and refused. When I demanded he get his ass into the house to inspect his employees work, he threatened to sue us because he is incapable of walking up stairs.

On the plus side they did finally take the old water heater out of the house after 5 months.

Lewis plumbing came to our house and poured drano down our pipes which I've heard is horrible for pipes then collected and cashed a service fee check of $75 but reported not receiving payment to AHS who in turn recharged us another $75 fee to cover what they paid the company. luckily it was a check so we were easily able to prove payment, but it was unnecessarily wasted time from my life. AHS and I both tried contacting the company several times but they never answered or replied to messages.

Too good to be true?

Our garbage disposal needed replacing so I went ahead and placed a service call to AHS at 4:10pm. I immediately received an email confirmation stating that they assigned Lewis Plumbing to get the job done. I went straight to Yelp to check out the reviews and was so worried we were in for a headache. But to my surprise, I received a call from Jason at Lewis Plumbing only 10 minutes after my initial request through the home warranty company and he said he was in the area and could come by now. He arrived shortly after, confirmed the diagnosis and already had a brand new disposal in his truck ready to go. He replaced the unit, cleaned up the mess, was super polite and just like that he was gone before 5:00 pm!

Now, I know this isn't the norm of how promptly service providers are but I'm still impressed amd thought I would share my positive experience.

Our water softener went out and it was covered by home warranty. American Home Shield sent this vendor. Replacement of the water softener took about 3 weeks, and they didn't haul away the old one. Jody (an employee, not the owner) did a five-star job on the replacement, but I have to deduct a lot of stars for slow response and poor communication from Lewis Plumbing. Two full weeks went by and Lewis had not even told AHS that the water softener needed to be replaced. It was another week or more after that before the work was done. I was told owner would pick up the old water softener on the following Monday after work. No show / no call. Days later, still no call or pickup of the old water softener.

Sadly I must give them a 1. I was assigned them by American Home Shield to fix my bathtub leak. It was a minor leak- nothing major. They rescheduled 3 times and then never would return my phone calls. I had to call AHS who then got a hold of them. They finally came and fixed the issue but we soon discovered it wasn't fixed. I called them again and again no one returned my voice mail. I then had to contact AHS again who was able to get in contact with them and we set up a time.

I was patient and let them know I needed this fixed by the end of the week(this is going on the third week now) They said they would be out that Friday. Friday came and no one showed. Instead of calling AHS I waited. (maybe something happened) They did return my call this time and I let them know I needed them to come out ASAP. We planned for that Monday at 1. They would call before they arrived.

Monday came and ..no one. I called and left 4 voice mails and not a return call back. Even to this day I have not received a return callback.

I called AHS the next day and let them know, nicely, I needed a new plumber.

Lewis Plumbing NEVER contacted me from that point on. Terribly Customer Service.
