Mark D.Had problem with bathroom sink draining into the tub. Toilet flushed fine. The tech informed me there was a $500 charge to use the big snake for main drain and would have to remove the toilet to use the big snake. Toilet removal / replacement was $250. He snaked the main drain, it was open. Then used a smaller snake and it clearedto the blockage between the sink and tub. He should have started there and there was no reason to snake the main drain but he did so they could get maximum billing. Even I knew the problem was not in the main. Had he snaked the obvious drain first it would have saved me hundreds of dollars and he would have been out the door in 30 mins. I am writing to the company and asking for a partial refund. An experienced plumber would have know to snake the small drain first. Cost me $650.
I called Len The Plumber because we lost water to our house. We run on a well system. They came out and the technicians were very nice but they installed a new well pump for me and charged me $3,900 dollars for the job. After they were finished I STILL do not have water. They charged me full price and left without my problem being fixed. I found out from a well expert in my area that the cost of the job should have really only been around $2,000. So not only did Len The Plumber over charge me for the job done by about $2,000 but they left me here without actually fixing my issue. This is extremely unethical and just flat out wrong to do to people. Terrible experience, I'm out 4K and still have no water. I've tried calling them back to speaker with a manager about a refund and they have yet to get back to me. Would not recommend this company, they will over charge you for the job and do not care about the customer.
Update to above review: I spoke with a service manager at Len The Plumber named Tom Romanowski who helped to rectify the situation. He was able to help me get a refund for some of the job and is trying to work on getting me a full refund because our water levels in the well are too low for the newly installed pump to reach. I am hopeful that the original offer for a full refund under the context of the company coming out and taking back the installed equipment still stands but nonetheless Tom was helpful to my wife and I during this stressful situation. Will update again once I get a final answer from the company.
Beware!!! This company charges $45. for a service call even if no work was performed! The service person wrote up a $800 estimate for a leaking outside faucet!
Instead of finding a less expense way to fix the problem, he went straight to the worst case scenario to replace the entire pipe and faucet! I know something wasn't right when he asked me how much I was expecting to pay after I refused to get the work done.
Today, another company came out and charged me only $20. bucks, because all that was needed was a little tighten. In less that a min, the job was completed.
Obviously, Len The Plumber is out to charge up people unnecessarily. This company is a ripoff!
When I called to speak to a supervisor about this horrible service, I was placed on hold so I'm complaining here.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!
**Update: The client service repcontact me and issued a refund.
If I could give Len the Plumber 0 stars, I would. We live about 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia, PA - still within the Len the Plumber limits. Recently, we purchased a home and need a plumber to repair a few things prior to our borough allowing us to move in. On Thursday, August 13, 2020, we scheduled someone from Len the Plumber to come to our house the following day, Friday, August 14, 2020, between the hours of 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Around 1:45pm, we received a phone call explaining to us the plumber had gotten held up and was no longer able to make it to our home that day; they'd be there the next day. The following day, Saturday, we received yet another phone call telling us the plumber was once again unable to service our home; they guaranteed service Sunday, August 16, 2020, as they would be in the area. It is now Sunday, August 16th, and once again, we received a phone call stating the plumber is unable to make it to our home.
This is the most unorganized company I have ever dealt with. Customers make appointments for these services, so they are able to get things repaired in a timely manner. Len the Plumber advertises ""Same Day Service,"" yet, we were unable to have a scheduled, next day service done. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Lindsay P.I had to call twice to even get the first appointment. They then bumped us to the next day due to emergencies. Fair enough, I understand things happen and we simply needed our gas stove uninstalled to get our floors done. We get rescheduled for first thing the next day, supposed to be for sometime around 9am. Well come noon the next day I had to call them to find out where the plumber was. They apologized, and said they were immediately sending someone. That person arrived at 2pm. Our plumber couldn't have been more unfriendly if he tried.
Now we only needed our stove unhooked from the gas line. It took this plumber ten minutes. We were charged $232 for this. Being in a jam of needing the stove unhooked so the work could continue we paid. The only thing good I can say is as soon as we called they said the technician will come back out at no extra charge to us to reinstall the stove.
Once again we had an appointment for a plumber to show up between noon and 4pm. Once again I had to call and ask what happened to find out we were bumped again. So now we have to wait yet another day without a stove. I will not be using their services ever again after this is completed. Very poor to reschedule someone without them knowing, and then to charge an outrageous amount. I normally always only write positive reviews but I'd like to save at least one person the same financial and physical headaches.
My issue is not with the technician or the service he performed. He did the work as promised. My issue is that they are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and customer service on the back end sucks!! My sump pump stopped working on the day of hurricane Isaias. My basement had about 2 inches of water and they were the only plumbers available since my usual plumber was swamped. Their price was much higher than anyone else, but I had no choice. After the work was done, I was told there was a warranty and that I would get a receipt via email. Well, it has been 4 days and still no receipt. I have called several times to inquire about it and the 3 year warranty sump pump info. Although I was promised a return call to resolve the matter, still nothing.
I am sure that during these unusual times most are working remotely, however I would have thought that I would have at least gotten a call back to rectify the issue and to make sure I am a satisfied customer. Well, needless to say, I am not! I must continue to call since I need my receipt and my warranty info. In this case I didn't get everything I paid for and due to this experience, I will NOT be using them again, nor will I recommend them.
We had to have a plumber and were recommended LEN. No issues with their work or cost of the job. We called and they came out in the time frame given. However, we asked if they wear appropriate PPE during pandemic and were told yes. When the tech arrived he was wearing only the least effective method of a bandana. This should not be allowed especially going into elderly people's homes and possibly spreading the virus unknowingly. Need to vamp up precautionary measures moving forward and requiring appropriate PPE of your employees in during this pandemic. Not fair to customers.
Maddie C.These guys are great!!! I've just moved into a new house and I've been discovering various plumbing issues, they've come out and fixed every single one! The prices are incredibly reasonable in comparison to others I've used and they have been teaching me things so I can check things out on my own. All four technicians were fantastic, on time, and professional. Also, I love that the company has so many veterans!
Susan S.This is not the plumber to call. Called last night was told they would come between 8 and12 the next day. No one showed we called at one and was told someone would be here before 5 then 15minutes later got a call they couldn't come till Tuesday. That is bad service. Called roto Reuter and they where in within an hour....
Called to get an expansion tank placed on hot water heater. Cost $850. Outrageous price but I paid it. After tech left realized I had no hot water. Arranged for them to come look at it and and hour before my 12-4 window for them to arrive was to expire , they cancelled and said said unable to get a technician out there. Wasted my whole day waiting for them. Ok fine..I rescheduled for another day but that AM decided to search you tube for cause of no hot water. YOU TUBE said to check the circuit breaker. Lo and behold it wasn't tuned back on! Ok honest mistake but they made no REAL effort to compensate me for my dissatisfaction. I asked for a discount on services received and they flat out told me no and would give Me a credit towards future services. That's not what Im asking for.I heated up water in the microwave to ""shower"" for 5 days! No need for a future credit as I will not be returning. A $40 expansion tank turned into a $850 bill and they couldn't return $100 iit to satisfy their customer? Not good customer service.
*update to review. I was contacted by management and pleased to announce they are honoring my request for a discount on services received. Glad to see they are willing to circle back to a customer to make them happy and provide good customer service.
