TOTAL RIPOFF!!!
Over $800 for 15 MINUTES regular daytime work replacing a leaking valve to the toilet tank and the flapper. This was not an emergency! ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS!!!

I'm not one to air grievances on a public forum, but I need to make an exception. Len the Plumber, who I have used in the past with excellent service, even if prices are a tad high, dropped the ball big time today with: misunderstanding my needs, not communication promptly when there was a delay, a phone system that repeated dropped my calls, miscommunication between the dispatchers and technician, and finally a customer service representative who cut me off as I described my frustration with a curt: ""Why are you wasting my time."" I guess it didn't register with the CR that I had wasted an entire day waiting for Len the Plumber to tell me that they could not fix my issue.

Therefore, I'm warning my fellow neighbors not to do business with Len the Plumber. I know I will not!

Wish I could give a whole of a '0' as far as rating goes for these guys. I scheduled a visit because one of my flush tanks was leaking and the other had a part to be replaced. The technician visited and without even looking at the problem said we have to replace the whole toilet, not just the one with the leak but even the one that had a problem with a simple part. And then he goes on to quote me some exorbitant amount for every work he has to get done. I really thank my stars for not giving in into his diagnosis of the problem and I hired another company for a second opinion and guess what - they fixed both my issues without having to replace the entire toilet. It costed us a whole of $200 including the technicians visit fee with this other company.

For the 2 minute diagnosis that Len Plumber technician did, they charged $49 for the visit. It's the money I will never be getting back but in the process I at least found a better one who is not a rip off and is sincere.

NEVER HIRE THESE GUYS FOR ANYTHING.

I purchased a dishwasher that was delivered, but when the plumber came out to install, they found the dual valve under my sink was coroded. They gave me a quote to fix, which I felt was too high ($400). Called Len the plumber, explained the situation, and the lady seemed to know off the bat what the issue was. Scheduled someone to come the next day, Sunday. Next day, they called to say they couldn't come, but scheduled for Monday instead.

So far, so good. Communication was on point. Even said they would give me $25 discount for the inconvenience.

Plumber comes out at scheduled time, but right from the start, seemed to have an attitude. He took a look at everything then tells me he's going to have to drain my hot water heater to half before he can change out the valve and would have to check for sediment after he changed it out. Then he starts telling me I need to have the sediment checked in my hot water heater twice a year, and I could tell he was going to strongly suggest I needed to have it flushed as part of the service. It's not even a year old.

While he did explain things, he was going very fast and when I tried to ask questions, I felt he was a condescending and didn't really take the time to truly explain the why behind the extensive work he was proposing.

Then he gave three quotes. They ranged from more than $765 to about $1200. I had also asked him about possibly installing the dishwasher because the office told me he could. He seemed annoyed that I asked him for the extra service and was going to charge over $500 to install the dishwasher.

I told him that was a lot of money on all of the services, told him I'd think about it and went into another room to get my card to pay him. He starts yeling at me from the other room that if I want it done cheaper, I'll need to find a handyman. Which i really didnt appreciate. And I knew that wasn't true because the first quote I received was way lower than what he quoted and didn't include even half of what he suggested. I gladly paid the $50 to get him out of my place.

Another plumber came in to do job the next day. Cheaper than both companies'quotes, very professional, explained everything respectfully and didn't have to do all the stuff Len's tech said he'd have to do to fix it.

Bottom line on Len the Plumber: While initial communication was good, the actual experience was uncomfortable, I felt condescended to, and the prices are way, way, way too high for services I don't believe I actually needed.

It's pretty simple, if you need anything outside of a complicated, large job done, do not use this company. I'll give them credit for being responsive and accurately diagnosing an issue, but you'll get completely ripped off if hire them to fix the issue. The short of my issue is, I had a drain pipe leak behind drywall. They charged me $220 to cut one piece of drywall open which took literally two minutes and then the rest of time writing me an outrageous quote for $1500 just to cut a small part of galvanized pipe and replace with PVC. I ended up getting a smaller company to do it for $500 and am disappointed to have wasted $220 for them to basically do nothing besides come out for an hour, cut a piece of drywall, and write a quote. Go with the small guy and don't overpay to cover a big company's 'overhead'.

The control panel on my water heater blew a fuse and my family of 5 was without hot water. Called Len the plumber to take advantage of their emergency services. First, there was no emergency service because I had to wait until the next morning. Second, when I called ahead of time to cancel my appointment because another company came out earlier, I was told to ""enjoy being under water and playing with the fish."" WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! The idiocy of it all. I see why their rating was so low. Let's not even address the pure unprofessionalism of saying such things to someone but when you attempt to be a condescending prick I would at least expect you to pinpoint your jab. We in fact we're not under water, our water heater stopped working. I'm more upset at the I'll advised ""diss"" than anything else. LOLOLOL

The only reason I'm ok with 1 star is because most of their techs are awesome. They repeatedly didn't show up for scheduled service without so much as a phone call which sucks when you have to take off of work every time for it. The management staff is completely unprofessional and pray they make no error bc getting them to call you back to deal with their negligence takes an act of God. When they finally call back they try to blame you or try to make you put their issue through your own insurance (except that turning off the water is the company's job during work and a pretty fundamental ""step 1 for plumbing). Prepare to push back HARD on them because they'll try every way to avoid dealing with anything. On top of that they cost 3 to 4 times as much as other plumbers. I've never had a company act so unprofessionally. Ultimately, I pushed back to get resolution with all the issues I encountered and took weeks, but if you aren't prepared to go into battle, don't risk working with this company. I wish I read the many complaints through the BBB prior to working with them.

I'm not a frequent review writer - the only reason I'm writing this is so other people can save themselves the trouble of contacting this poorly run service.

I contacted Len the Plumber because my water bill went up and I was concerned there might be a leak. They sent a plumber who determined it was an upstairs commode and that he would get the parts and come back. It has been two weeks and there have been two no-shows and two cancellations. I left work early twice, only to be ""stood up"" by my plumber! I asked for a manager to call me and was told it would take 24 - 48 hours for someone to call me back. I never received a call. I am extremely disappointed with this service - I can't remember ever being treated so disrespectfully; like my time doesn't matter. At one point I called to see why no one showed up and was told the plumber had cancelled the call because the problem had been resolved! What?

I will not be using this service again. Len the Plumber is unreliable, disrespectful, and does not appear to give a damn about how they treat their customers. What a shame.

Darryl Williams was our plumber from Len the Plumber, and he did an absolutely outstanding job! He was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, timely. When an diagnostic could not be found from snaking our sewer pipes, he called he colleague, Hank who completed a video diagnostic to figure out our issue. He made a very stressful situation much less stressful for us. Len the Plumber was very responsive and the only plumbing company that was able to get us an appointment the same day.

They repaired a very expensive leak. While replacing the shower fixtures they broke tiles and patched the tiles leaving us with another expensive repair. The new fixtures were put on extremely crocked. When we questioned the work, we were told that was the best they could do with old plumbing.
