I was very happy with the service provided by Jay. Our sump pump failed, and the water backed up into our basement. Our usual small-company plumber couldn't get us on his schedule for ""at least a couple of days."" I was very pleased that Len The Plumber could provide same day service at no extra charge. Jay was great about explaining everything to me, providing several options at different prices, and never pressuring me to ""upgrade"" or replace the whole system the way other plumbers do. I can't speak to prices; it seemed fair to me based on past experiences. All plumbers are expensive, and Len the Plumber seemed in the right ballpark to me.

The plumbers are all expensive nowadays, but Len......is so much more so! A quote of $395 for repairing a toilet wax seal? Come on! I call this either incompetence or dishonesty! I sent them packing and I got Shary's Plumbing do it for $200. The job was completed in less than half an hour, the conversation with the plumber included! Not cheap either, but still half the price quoted by Len.

We were very happy with the service we got from Len the Plumber in response to our water main leak (polybutylene pipe -- need I say more?). The plumber came out within a couple of hours of our call and diagnosed the problem, since we initially didn't know where the water was coming from. He replaced our sump pump immediately (it was inoperable too, and may have been for years without our noticing it), and made arrangements with Howard County (the ""miss utility"" people as well as the water inspectors), to be out here on site at the crack of dawn the next day. The same plumber saw the job all the way through., making it all very hassle free.
Our plumber initially told us that they would pull the old pipe out and probably not have to dig a trench. Unfortunately, tree roots made that impossible so the team did have to dig up the yard after all, but they didn't try to get more money out of us when the job suddenly got a lot harder for them.
We were so pleased with their work that we went ahead and had them replace our water heater (original to the house, and on borrowed time for the last 20 years or so.) We would call them again any time we need plumbing done.
I can't speak to the price, since we did not get multiple bids. Since our basement was awash, it was more important to us to get the job done quickly and well.

I learned about Len the Plumber by word of mouth. I agreed to a service window and Justin H. showed up promptly a the beginning of the window. I knew he was an employee of the company because the company sent his entire profile to me via email (his full name, picture, interests, hobbies, credentials, years of experience, etc) which was amazing - think of the personal security perspectives! Justin arrived in the marked company vehicle with his professional attire as depicted and after greeting, promptly placed shoe covers on - which he had brought with him. I cannot even get my family members to remove their shoes or even do this!! He was very professional, engaging, and courteous and was able to quickly diagnose the problem at hand and discussed detailed resolutions with me. He was very personable as well which goes along way for anxious homeowners who need to have a problem resolved facing potentially high costs. This has been one of the best customer service experiences I have had in many years and I qualify that by saying that I do engage with many service providers covering a spectrum of requirements I have. Next time consider Len the Plumber and ask for Justin H. Don't forget to ask how he and the team fared during softball season!

I just waited 4 hours for them to show up and when I called they said oops, your appointment is tomorrow!! And then wanted me to wait another 4 hours!! I don't think so!! I KNOW I scheduled the appointment for today!!

Their work was good, but WAY over priced! I had a clogged sink drain (nothing too extensive) and a toilet wax ring that needed to be replaced and was charged $374 for the services. The guy was here for less than an hour. While they did a fine job, I will NOT be calling them again for any services since they charge so much.

I called LEN and they would not give an estimate over the phone, they said they had to come out and see the job. I was also told that would not have to pay anything if I didn't like the estimate.

The estimate from LEN to use a ""snake"" to drain my bathtub was $374.00. When I told them that O'Connor plumbing had given me an estimate of $250.00 I was told I owed an estimate of $49.00 even though I had been assured that I would owe nothing if I didn't like the estimate. I was also told ""good luck"" with finding a GOOD plumber that was less than their charge.

JD Browne fixed my bathtub issue for $180.00 and it works great.

You are warned to stay away from LEN.

We had a plumbing emergency on Memorial Day. Uh oh, I thought. We're about to spend some big money. Nope. Len the Plumber sent somebody over right away. He was friendly, didn't track mud in the house and wasn't freaked out by an old house in the city. (Many contractors are.)

He diagnosed the problem and actually recommended a much less expensive fix. He could have done the work and charged hundreds, but instead he recommended a more common-sense approach and saved us a lot of money.

First class, all the way. I'll call them again.

I called Len the Plumber left a message and what seemed like a teenager called to schedule our appointment. She had no knowledge of hourly rates and said the pricing was done per job. We told her we wanted an estimate before the work. The price was $339.00 to change a valve and $189 to change a water filter cartridge. Wow Len is too expensive for us.
Len then wanted to charge $49.95 for the estimate. This charge was never mentioned to us and we did not pay it.

had call to call twice for different issues and both times the people who came out were friendly and helpful. they ARE expensive but we haven't used any other plumbers yet so i can't really compare. both times they fixed the issues we were having in a timely manner and seemed very knowledgeable in answering our less-than-intelligent plumbing-related questions.

all in all, if you need a job done quickly, they're great at coming out ASAP. it's definitely a hit to your wallet, but i'd imagine most of these types of services are. they're friendly and professional and we had no complaints.
