Requested plumbing services via Yelp and reviewed the provided plumbing services listing. Submitted requests to contractors and after several responses, Legacy Plumbing Co. replied with their text to call a phone number so I could actually speak to someone instead of via text communication. The contact phone number was for a "Lyle" gentleman. Lyle listened to my problem and said he was heading towards the leeward side of the island but would turn around and head towards Palolo Valley for me. He and I met nearby where I reside and he followed me to our house. He said he would take a look at the situation and provide his assessment of cost and time, which he did - Lyle stated that the cost estimate and trouble call travel/time are free and I had no obligation to go with his company.
Lyle was friendly and explained to me what he felt were the possible causes of the clogged drain line. He provided his quotation to do the work, which was the lowest of the other plumbing outfits that responded via text messaging back to me.
In terms of response time, I started my Yelp request around 9:30 am. and Lyle was at my house by 11:30 a.m.
In terms of Lyle's experience and knowledge of plumbing, he said he has been doing this for about thirty years now - "local boy"who attended Damien HS. He stated that he and his company believes is providing honest and excellent work at a fair market price, and that he believes that if they do good work for their customers, they will come back to them for future business or refer their friends to trust/use Legacy Plumbing Co.
So if you want to learn about plumbing and your existing home plumbing system (at a fair cost), I recommend contacting Legacy Plumbing Co. and ask for Lyle because he provided great customer service and communicated clearly to explain what happened and possible ways to prevent repeat drain clogging events.
Things to consider: No trouble call fee, no assessment fee, free cost estimate, knowledgeable and friendly plumber. After sales follow-up with service invoice via text or email. Accepts cash. Rapid response to request for services.

Lyle was friendly, courteous, confident and efficient in getting two toilets from leaking. He quickly discerned the problem with each toilet, went out to buy the necessary parts, then came back and installed them.

When requesting quotes/estimates for work I first spend time up front defining the description of the project/issues/concerns and then get to defining the requirements. However in my initial need for routine maintenance of a solar water heater system, I wasn't sure what is required so I left that part to be recommended by the contractor.

Legacy Plumbing responded to my request for a quote within 24 hours and provided in detail all the requirements to perform a routine maintenance on my system as well as a reasonable cost estimate. They showed up within the window provided and completed the work efficiently as quoted.

Our plumber was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all our questions and went above and beyond to ensure the work site was returned to the way it was when he arrived. The workmanship in servicing and testing the water heater and solar panels, and replacing relief valves and the anode rod was on par with work performed by, and expected of, a skilled and experienced plumbing engineer.

We are pleased with the work and customer service which Legacy Plumbing provided and wish them continued success. We recommend Legacy Plumbing and plan on contacting them again for our future plumbing needs.

Lyle and Hoku were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They arrived quickly on a Saturday evening and even after a few complications they were able to resolve the problem and cleared our drains successfully. They made recommendations for the future and even helped disinfect the area they were working in. The price for the service on an after hours call was so reasonable. I had a clogged kitchen sink at 7pm at night. I put a request in on yelp. Lyle was quick to give me a call. He said he was in the area and gave me a quick quote and was at my house within a few minutes as he lives in the area. His experience led him to not snake my main line. I thought this was the issue. He ten recommend snaking the kitchen sink line only. He was in and out within an hour. Super friendly and would definitely recommend him.

I was offered service thru my home warranty for Legacy Plumbing. Upon calling I was given an approximate time that Lyle would arrive to diagnose the problem. He got right to it.

Next day another incident occured with the downstairs garbage disposal. Again, Lyle arrived and submitted my claim.

Both issues were addressed in a timely and friendly matter and I was please with the service, very pleased.

Legacy has the highest quality service. My wife and I found our experience with Legacy to be excellent. Their plumbers are friendly, quick, dependable and communicative. We appreciated that they really took time to help us understand the issue, walking us through preventative measures to take with our apartment in the future. When they were done helping us with the washer + dryer, they also took a look at other items, just giving us some helpful feedback and advice in regards to maintenance. That was way beyond the call of duty and so appreciated. 10/10 100% fully recommend, will call again (hopefully don't have to!)

I called Legacy Plumbing in the late afternoon when my tub backed up and I had issues with my washer. They were able to come first thing the next day! He would've come that night but I wasn't able to be home. Overall great communication the entire time and very professional! He also taught me a lot- told me what to look out for in the future, how to maintain my drains, etc. No gatekeeping! I hope I don't have any plumbing issues soon but if I do at least I have the most reliable and knowledgable person to call.
