Our first experience with LB Handyman was terrific. Jorge and team showed up on time and had our bathroom completely repainted and new fixtures installed in just one day. The price was great, too. We were so happy with the work that we recommended them to neighbors and brought them back for a bigger job months later. That's when we saw the nightmare side of working with someone who (apparently) may not be a licensed contractor.

The second job seemed like it should be easy enough - taking out an old oven and replacing it with a new one, plus a fresh coat of paint in the kitchen - but mistakes were made that caused complications. Specifically, the team cut into a cupboard and a sink top using the wrong tool (which we found out when we brought the pics to someone who actually DOES have a contractor's license) and they didn't show up the next day. Or the next. When my husband finally got in touch with Jorge, he was reluctant to come back, saying he needed more money if the job was going to be finished and that he wasn't sure when he could return. NOT COOL, JORGE! We finally got him to agree to return to the job, but he was a no-show. That's when we started questioning the contractor's license. He eventually made it back, but the repairs to the damage done by his team were laughable. A slab of wood had been used to hold up one side of the cupboard they had cut into, which was still clearly leaning at an angle, thin strips of painted wood had been adhered to the countertop to cover the jagged cuts through it, and half the drawers had been painted closed, so when we opened them the paint just peeled right off. Now it's going to cost us about three times as much just to repair the damage done by Jorge and his team.

Lesson learned: These guys can handle simple paint jobs and unclogging drains, but if your project has even the slightest need for real tools, find someone else. We never did get a straight answer about the contractor's license, which says a lot.

We are so happy with Jorge's work! He came to replace a door that was falling apart in the garage. He replaced the entire door frame. It took him longer than expected because the previous door was a Mickey Mouse job. However he was very patient, courteous and took his time. He also has great customer service! He returned my call right away after I came up on his services through Yelp. He's very nice and does great work. I'd recommend him!

Jorge came out to do some repairs at my house, on drywall and a couple other things.

When I called him, he got back to me within a couple of hours, and was able to set something up within two days. His prices were totally reasonable, and he was professional (on time), courteous, and did good work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone, and will be using him in the future.

I've done many construction projects from my previous restaurants, and know what's needed for the job, which is a reliable person to complete a project, and....Jorge is The Man!!!
I had to replace my picket fence in front yard, my wood had rotted and I couldn't even open the gate. I met with Jorge at my home, we discussed different options for the fencing. We decided together on one type of fencing (paver's with stucco coating) - The next day-
Jorge met me at HD Supply, and we picked out supplies together, while he kept suggesting minimal amounts needed to complete the project and SAVE $$$. Nobody does that!!!
Then, on top of it, I changed my mind, and went with white vinyl fencing, and Jorge was nothing but patient with me, no attitude, judgements, etc.
He arrived on time, his helper Issac was also great, and they got the job done in ONE DAY!!!
And again, Jorge said to take back the gate kit that cost $90.00, and just buy a couple of hinges & gate bracket,( I ran to Ace Hardware on 2nd )- to Save Me Money!!!!!
I almost regret writing this, because he's getting busier, and I need a few more projects to complete...
However, Jorge said, ""He won't take too many jobs on at one time, because otherwise he can't provide the care & quality he's use to"" and I find that is so worthy of someone your trusting to help you accomplish your goal.
Again, Nothing Short of Amazing, not a Greedy person that's only about the $$. Rather, Someone that actually cares about their work, a person who is honest, reliable, looks out for your budget, detail oriented, and very friendly and pleasant to work with!!!!
Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I would leave zero stars if possible.
Called Jorge on a Tuesday after reading his yelp reviews. He tells me he's ""put me on the calendar for 9AM on Saturday"" and asks me to text him my address. I did, and even texted the night before to confirm. No show, no call...and Jorge has the nerve to be rude to me when I call him asking where he is 45 minutes after the time he agreed on. LAME and completely unprofessional.

I am so happy of the all the repairs that Grorge did in our bathroom. It was a clean a he gave me a reasonble price! He also did extra little work for some repairs in my house. George also did an excellent job puting new tiles in one of the rooms in my house! He is very detailed and doesn't rush it to make it perfect! I will definitely recommend him! He is also a licensed contractor so you wont go wrong with George! Thanks george for an excellent job done! Looking forward to work with you!

Jorge did a terrific job replacing the light fixtures in our kitchen today. This is a busy time of year for everyone. I called 2 other handymen in the last 2 weeks who didn't call me back (one actually called back when Jorge arrived) soon enough. I was surprised Jorge answered his phone Monday and said he could do the job Wednesday! I would strongly recommend him if you'd like to have a job done professionally, neatly and in the near future.
