Do not use this plumber! I called to have a slow moving drain snaked. They charged me $400 to go beyond 100ft and didn't even go more than 60ft resulting in my drains not draining at all. They refused to correct the issue unless I was willing to pay an additional $2800 and put in an outside access and they refused to refund any of the $400 they charged me to create a bigger problem. I had to call a second plumber to correct the issue.

Good work, timely, efficient. Cost was as to be expected for any kind of plumbing. I had a new kitchen faucet and a new disposal installed. Shannon, the co-owner, did the work.

Very messy work! Had a sewer line replaced and all my new landscaping was removed and just left tossed to the side. Because it's winter, I'm assuming they will all be dead in the spring which will be costly to replace. They should have been more careful, or at the very least warned us about what was going to happen so we could have arranged to move the plants. They also left a huge dirt mound on my yard and didn't even smooth it out. A few hours work and charged a LOT!!

I Called Larry Bell of Lawrence Plumbing on Monday, August 6th, 2018 and asked if he could install a faucet, tighten a toilet that was loose and install an Instant HOT Water system in my kitchen. He said ""Absolutely."" We arranged for him to call my cell and he would ""work me in"" on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018. Well....he never called so I called him again. He said he was sorry but could make it on Thursday, August 9th but didn't give me a time as he would ""work me in."" When he didn't call me (again), I called him late afternoon and he said, ""Sorry - but I am going out of town and won't be able to do your job."" I informed him that its people like him that give plumbers a bad name and if he was not going to be able to do the job, he should not have strung me along for days. I told him that I would be writing a review on him with YELP. He seemed not to care. WORD OF ADVICE - BY-PASS THIS PLUMBER. HIS REVIEWS OVERALL ARE NOT THAT GREAT AND HE IS NOT VERY GOOD ABOUT KEEPING COMMITMENTS. YOU CAN DO BETTER.

Terribly overpriced.
Called Lawerence this morning at the suggestion of a poster on neighborhood.com.
I needed to replace a sump and they came soon but the charge to replace it was outrageous.
The pump they installed has a list price of $165.
Installation took around 30 minutes and the bill
was a whopping $565.00. They also offered me
a back up system for an additional $875.00 telling
Me not te replace the battery on my present system
because batteries never work.
I recommend others stay way from this company.
I feel I was taken advantage of.

would like to review on this company, so I can caution you all about Larry and his service. I cannot believe he has positive google reviews in spite of such poor customer service and quality of work.

We had water leak from our shower in first floor and was dripping down the ceiling in the living room. We searched google for a plumber with best reviews in our area and got the best review rated guy (Larry) in Troy.We called him and he informed us that he will charge us $99 for diagnosis.

Since my ceiling was leaking and based on his google reviews I thought he will do a good job, though he was pricey. He agreed to come that day, but his daughter showed up for the diagnosis. She called me to inform that she had diagnosed the issue and will charge $49 to fix, but can give me a $20 discount on diagnosis fee of $99. She caulked the pipe at one spot and told us not to use the shower for 24 hours and everything will be fixed.

Next day, same leak at the same spot. Nothing was fixed. So, I called Larry again and requested him to stop by. Instead he said we will have to cut open the ceiling and will cost more than $3500 and suggested that I talk to my insurance about coverage.
In a panic mode, I called my home insurance and started a claim process. Luckily, one of my friend suggested me to get a second opinion from another plumber and gave the contact info. Now I called this good plumber guy and he diagnosed and fixed the issue with the water draining valve (replaced a new rubber valve) and charged me $25 and leak problem was fixed.

I called Larry and explained all of this. He was stammering to answer and arguing with no right reason stating that they did good job and put the caulk. But, I patiently asked him why was it still leaking and why did he recommend to cut open the ceiling. He was totally defending himself in spite of knowing he was wrong.

Larry was blaming the good plumber guy stating that the job he did will not work even for a week and he should be a layman with no clue. All I told him was that, firstly don't blame the other guy who did the job right and I also put the question back stating that if leak stops for more than a week will he refund the money. After long discussion, he agreed to pay back the $49 we paid for caulking job that his daughter did. He agreed for the deal.

After a week, I called him to inform that there are no issue. He started arguing and proudly claimed that
He has the google best reviews and no one will ever care about my comments.

I just want to share my bad experience with this person so that no one will ever go through this hard toil.

Lessons learnt from this guy:
1. Not to trust his google reviews because once they do their job he starts brainwashing by stating that we would reduce some amount if you do some good google review on their company.
2. This guy promised to pay back the money and started to back off once he has to pay ( Not a trustable guy.)
3. He would have easily tricked us to pay him $3500 for a $25 issue (literally).

Another reviewer summarized Lawrence Plumbing as a ""class act"". So true. As a Troy native, a neighbor recommended Lawrence when the plumbing in my first house was giving me problems. I was told that they were reliable, reasonable, and they stood behind their work.Since the first appointment, I have never called anyone else in Troy. I had other things done including a new water heater and a toilet installed. I relocated out of the area but my folks still reside there. Recently, they had a big problem with their sewer line. And as always my dad called LP. I agreed to pick up the tab for what I assumed would be an expensive fix. The owner Larry called me with an estimate and gave me a detailed description of what needed to be done.i was pleasantly surprised that the work would get done the next day and that I wouldn't have to mortgage the kid. Out came their backhoe and they replaced and fit the new sewer line and cleaned up everything and patched the basement. My parents were delighted with a dry, clean basement. I was delighted with the cost. Honestly, Larry and his daughter are as good as it gets. They know plumbing, are efficient and reasonable, and have been making people happy with their high quality work and reasonable prices for a long time. If you need a plumber call Larry or his daughter. They will come out quickly. I bet the folks in Houston could use Lawrence.

Until recently, I might have given LP a decent review -- always responsive but always super expensive.

Recently, however, we had a major leak emanating from our sump area. LP diagnosed it as a leak in a valve in the existing back-up sump pump. LP was sure -- so we paid to have it replaced (nearly a grand). LP did the work, inspected the area and cashed our check.

Weeks later, LP returned when the leak continued to spread -- obviously misdiagnosed and I spent a grand for nothing.

After a complete visual inspection -- his new diagnosis was that the foundation must be cracked and given the excessive rain -- water must be coming through. Incorrect again. We filed an insurance claim.

Our home insurance company sent out a leak detection provider -- and after searching the foundation high and low, found that our condensate drain tube from the a/c somehow was out of the sump pit, laying against the frame and draining onto the floor. We would never have touched that tube in a million years -- who reaches into their sump area? It took the gentleman 30 seconds and two pieces of electrical tape to solve the problem.

After 6 weeks of remediation, repair and a significant homeowners claim -- LP still refuses to take responsibility for his multiple misses. LP said he had 'no idea the condensate line drained in the sump pit' -- even though he had worked in that area installing sumps at least 5 times. His quotes -- 'Bad install by the hvac guy' 'Could have popped out by pressure' 'Did not see it'.

I asked LP to cover my home owners deductible -- and LP says they have no culpability.

This is not an upstanding business -- running and hiding instead of sharing responsibility.

LP's ineptness cost me my full deductible, the price of a high quality, yet unnecessary back-up sump pump and the inconvenience of a basement repair mess for weeks.

I had an appointment with this guy to do some work, was looking to fix some leaky faucets and toilet. We spoke the day before and confirmed times, even gave him the flexibility to show up in a few hour time range.

He was nice as can be when making the appointment.

I took off work early so I could be there to make his appointment. I called him half hour before to confirm but he didn't answer. So I just waited expecting him to show and called again and He wouldn't answer phone. I waited 3 hours for the jerk and not answering phone and stood me up. Wasted afternoon off work and now need to do it again to find another guy.

I have dealings with many tradesman and the crooked ones always start off this way. I didn't have any work done by the guy, but it always starts with them being as nice as they can be when they want something and then ripping you off, not finishing the job, not calling you or showing up to appointments etc.

If my brief interaction with this guy is any indication of the work/service you will receive I suggest you stay far far away. I've been ripped off several times but have also have had many great honest quality people do some work.. red flags all around with this one.

And if you are Lawrence plumbing reading this message which I hope you do maybe you will get your act together and not just be another hustling plumber giving the others a bad name.

I called Lawrence Plumbing to find out if I could get a free estimate on a problem that I had at my house. I explained to him over the phone what the problem was and he told me that it sounded like ""$99 service fee."" I made sure to ask him if the problem was more extensive than that if he would still charge me $99 for coming out. He said no, that he would give me an estimate on what the cost was to fix the problem. He came out almost immediately, and literally tightened a the nut around the a valve. It took him 2 seconds to fix. When I asked him how much I owed him, he retorted ""uh $99."" I don't think this was ethical or fair. I understand that he is due pay for his time but to take $100 for nothing more than driving out to my house seems like poor business manners to me. I will not be calling him again.
