As a child, Lu accompanied his father, who owned a landscaping and custom water feature business. Lu learned early about the importance of customer satisfaction for repeat business. He also learned to listen to clients and deliver a product that meets their needs. In his early adulthood, he gained experience at a water filtration company. He specialized in installing tailored water filtration systems for homes and businesses. In his early twenties, Lu started his official plumbing apprenticeship. Due to health challenges in his wife's family, they moved to Georgia, where he founded LAV Plumbing.
