This is the second time calling Larry and Sons. The first time we needed our well pump, a pressure tank and pitless adapter replaced. After agreeing to all the quoted work the job commenced. When they finished later that day, we were told that they did not replace the pitless after they told us it needed to be replaced the LAST time this well was serviced. Almost two months go by and water has been bubbling up around our well ever since. We were told it would cost over $300 just to dig the hole and tell us what was wrong and wanted to quote us for $3-7k more work after they didn't do the whole job the first time. Another company came out and did the job today for under $500. The employees at reception have no concern for your complaints and will give you canned responses until you hang up. Haven't spoken to the service manager by phone yet, but received a voicemail that condescendingly surmises that everything they've done so far is as expected.

Scare tactics, predatory pricing, lazy efforts, arrogant attitudes and disregard for customer satisfaction are the bones of this company.

Had a sewer line replaced. Larry & Sons caused damage to the HOA lawn that could have been avoided by laying down plywood and they left several large boulders on the surface after backfilling. I realize that they do not finish grade but they could have burred the boulders. Cost me extra with the landscaper to haul them out and repair the HOA lawn. When I paid my bill I complained and the person taking the call said would pass my information on to the supervisor. Never received a call from Larry & Sons. They got my money so I guess they figure they did not need to respond to my complaint. Be careful about paying if you have an issue.

I hope everyone reads this BEFORE deciding to do business with them. They are scam artists.

First, I had them service my AC in June. My AC continued to not work properly the whole summer. I didn't call them back because I was afraid I'd get charged ANOTHER service fee.

I wanted my furnace serviced at the same time, but they refused to do that. Had to let my furnace sit unused for 4-5 months.

When summer was over, I called to set up my appointment. They couldn't get me in til November. But they set up an appointment to actually fix my AC.

The tech came and replaced one of the main parts. The first tech charged me to clean coils, that didn't fix the problem. When the tech finished, he miraculously offered to service my furnace. I agreed because November is too late, I'd already have it running.

When finished, he came up and gave an elaborate speech about how my oxygen vs carbon monoxide levels weren't right. And told me I'd need a new furnace. Red tagged it so it couldn't be used.

Next day, I got a 2nd opinion. I contacted the company from which I've been purchasing fuel oil the last couple years. I heard they serviced furnaces but didn't see it on their website and never would've guessed they do AC as well. Otherwise, they'd have been the first I called.

That tech told me I did NOT need a new furnace. He explained how fuel oil gives off an exhaust like diesel. That I'd smell the problem. It's not like natural gas, a silent killer.

I feel like Larry & Sons THOUGHT they'd take advantage of me. First, getting me to get their service agreement, then manipulate me with the 15% off equipment, they also ASSUMED I never had my furnace serviced, I had no carbon monoxide detectors and I had no idea how old my furnace was.

I believe they made my furnace set for months before servicing, so when the dust burned off and as the chimney expanded and gave off a little more exhaust than normal, they could use a scare tactic to convince me to purchase something I did NOT need. The 2nd opinion company services as soon as I stop using it for the season so it's ready for the next.

Only 5 days later, my daughter had them service her 10 year old furnace. They told her she'd need to replace it in the near future. If you don't see scam artists after reading this, then you must have money to throw away.

Also, I was told their techs aren't paid well, so they push selling equipment because they get a commission.

I'll be reporting these scam artists to the BBB and AG. Maybe then they'll start running an HONEST business. Because they sure as HELL aren't right now. I'll never use them again and will be canceling my service agreement.

And of course, I waited ALL morning for the service appointment but when they plan to make a sale, they're their BEFORE they're supposed to be. ?

INCOMPETENT AND A RIP OFF
I had a technician come out six times to fix a leaking shower. The first time he tried to save us money and recommended us to get a new cartridge for shower so happy to spend $30 vs. $1,450. After I tried and the technician tried to install the new cartridge he said that he would have to install a new shower system. He installed the new shower and it worked for a day or two and then there was a crack in the pipe going into the shower head. So another $90 to fix that. The shower started leaking again so had to get the technician out he told me that it was the water pressure and had to spend another $750 to fix that but still wasn't fixed. Told me to buy another cartridge for the new shower. I bought that and had him install it. It was still leaking.

After some time I had another plumber out to fix our sink. He took a look at it and told me that the technician installed the cartridge upside down and was fine.

Spent over $2,000 for incompetence. This was a waste of money.

I scheduled an appointment due to a leaking shower. The technician came out and proceeded to spend the next hour fumbling around until he ultimately said he couldn't get the handle off because of a stripped screw and quoted me $1950 to replace the valve and said he would have to cut a hole in the wall. I stopped the service that day to get another opinion. In the meantime my sister in law who works in IT has fixed some plumbing issues at her house after watching YouTube videos proceeded to come over and completely fix it including the trip to Lowe's for $50 and 2.5 hours. The screw wasn't stripped at all and she had the handle off in five minutes. These people should be embarrassed that this is who they sent to represent their company. I talked to Amy the plumbing manager who apologized but there is no excuse for ripping people off like this. Definitely would not recommend.

I called and told them I needed my AC unit recharged. They came out and determined that it indeed did need 410a added. They than proceeded to tell me it would be $1600.00 dollars. I told him that was crazy and told him I charged AC units while serving in Iraq, I'm not stupid to the situation. He said he would give me a discount, but ended up charging me $1386.00. If it wasn't for it being so hot in my house with a baby. I would of bought the $149.00 28oz can of pro charge/(they charged me $1075.00 for it. smh) and did it myself. Never again with Larry and Sons.

I can't say enough about Larry & Sons! I had a catastrophic breakdown with my boiler. My usual servicer told me I would have to wait 4-6 weeks for a part when we had arctic weather. I called Larry & Sons & Justin was out the next day. While this wasn't a quick job, Justin worked tirelessly to solve the problem & get my boiler up and running again. This was a challenge and he rose to the occasion. They whole team (thank you Chris in scheduling) was supportive & prioritized my situation. I canceled my agreement with the other servicer & I am now with Larry & Sons. I trust their professionalism & dedication to their customers. They are amazing!

Needed toilet replaced. Called them because we had a service contract. Apparently, they canceled that after the first month because they couldn't reach us. I have no record of calls.
So we asked for an estimate, ballpark price before they come. They said they couldn't. They tried to send someone here before we even got the toilet. We said no, no point. Then, when the guy gets here, he gives us a price of $549.00 to replace the toilet. Realize that doesn't include anything but labor. We have everything else. Plus the consultation fee. That's when we argued about my coverage. They took the one month fee and ran.
I feel like they think because we're old, they can take advantage of us.
I had to pay the $49.00, and they tried to force me to sign a paper saying I am authorizing service. I refused.
My God, how evil to take advantage of the elderly living on fixed income.
