We hired Lanthorn to install a gas line at our residence. Dawn, the scheduler, was very friendly and prompt in her responses!

The gas line was installed very soon after we requested the service. The only drawback was that they had to go through our back steps outside. Not sure why. My husband knows construction and said they probably could have done this another way.

Overall, we are happy with the gas stove and things were done well other than that.

Our delta faucet was having a issue. Plumbers came out. First of all they must have went to Happy Hour liquid lunch prior to coming. Wreaked profusely. In the process of changing a free part, it was stripped. One supposed seasoned technician explained to be careful to the trainee to not strip the part. Now the part is stripped. Week later, part is installed. Story from the technician it's $249.00. That's ludicrous. The technician that's what Delta charges for install of the free part. Awful experience. Go somewhere else. Mind you this was not an emergency. Unsatisfactory.

I am writing this review to keep someone else from being scammed by Lanthorn company ""LPC"". master plumbers license ******3573. This ordeal took place back in 10/1/2015 when my water heater started to leak, and coverage was provided by a home warranty company who directed Lanthorn Plumbing to call me for a replacement. The original water heater was from the Bradford white brand family and during my conversation with Paul Lanthorn the owner of the company, I let him know that I wanted the same brand water heater installed. I was not home when Mr. Lanthorn came out to the house to replace the unit in the attic because I travel for work on a monthly basis. Upon arriving from my trip, I went ahead to inspect their work since I was a plumber for many years before getting into the line of work I do now and noticed a State Water heater installed instead of the brand I requested. The reason for my brand loyalty stands from many years of installing them and their longevity not to mention the warranty company should replace the unit with the same installed. Mr. Lanthorn initially acted cordial but when I wouldn't budge on the brand and my argument about its longevity, he reassured me he would pay for an extended warranty of 4 years on top of the original manufactures warranty of 6 years and I agree with his idea as much as upset as I was. Fast forward to April 2022 just over 6 years of the initial install I called ""LPC"" because the water heater sprung a leak and would not stay lit. Mr. Lanthorn showed up and diagnosed the lighting problem to a roofing replacement when debris fell down the flue pipe but was puzzled at the leak as minor as it was still filled the drain pan about halfway. He reassured that he would file a claim with the extended warranty and would return the next day with a replacement. The next day he called and told me the warranty was never filed with State the water heater company and that he would pay for a water heater himself but would have to charge me $1000 for the labor. An appointment was set but on the day of the install, he called me saying he was sick and he would call me to setup another appointment at a later time. He never bothered to call again. I lived with the water heater leaking and draining outside of my home for almost 4 months before the leak got so bad that it started to go over the drain pan. I called the company again and reminded Mr. Lanthorn of issue at hand but he did not want to bring a new water heater to replace the leaking one and he wanted to come by to diagnose the problem again. I decided to follow his direction until I came to my senses after hanging up the phone with him. This is a guy who installed the wrong appliance in the first place, who although promised to purchase a warranty for a customer and failed to do so proving that State Water heaters are an inferior product than the original (Bradford White), and who failed to call a customer after canceling an appointment because he was sick. Mr. Lanthorn is not the only plumber working at his company. He is an irresponsible tradesman who make promises he doesn't keep. AVOID working with this company at all cost.

Water Heater Installation

1. Valve is not even on the drip pan,
2. Didn't use primer when connecting pipe,
3. Pipe too short, so just vent it,
4. Recycle old pipe cpvc (flexible metal pipe would have been more stable and nice,, but hmm)
5. Drain pan doesn't even fit the water heater,
6. Water heater blocking the drain from drain pan,
7. Asked 100 more for 20 drip pan (oh phone, we agreed that drip pan would be included)
8. Called 300 more than what was agreed on the phone (on phone, agreed that pipe work near would be included but he decided to charge more. And he said ""I don't like hassling with price"")

We bought a condo in Carrollton & when we pulled the old cabinets out, the kitchen hot water shut off valve leaked. This was around 3:00 pm on a Tuesday. I called several plumbers and Lanthorn was the only one who could send someone quickly. Joseph arrived at 9:10 Wednesday morning and had the problem fixed in no time. Joseph was professional and friendly. I highly recommend these people!

The guy that came to my house for preliminary diagnosis for home warranty was nice. The lady at the office was rude and very disrespectful. Very unprofessional. They also told my home warranty that all my plumbing needed to be updated to code and a drain system under the water heater installed. All in which was yo to code and they were trying to take advantage of me. They aren't allowed back in my home.

We were out of town when our hot water heater, which also produces the heating, went on the fritz at our rental property. Our Home Warranty Company wasn't able to get a plumber dispatched in a timely manner, and with a tenant without hot water AND heat, we just couldn't wait. We called Lanthorn and they were out the very same day, identified the issues, were able to find the rare parts and complete the installation the very next day.

Their communication throughout the process was timely, top-notch service, even texting to let us know when they were on the way. Their rates were more than reasonable, and their staff, from the Office Manager to the Technician on-site, were super professional.

All around great experience; will definitely use again and refer with confidence!
