I've forgiven Lange Plumbing for poor & shoddy work along with shitty customer service over the years & for no good reason stupidly remained faithful to them. Called them Monday for an urgent plumbing matter, it is now Thursday afternoon & they couldn't be bothered to return my call. I've spent 10,000.00 with them in the past year. Something is really off there...I've moved on as they clearly aren't interested in my business.
Lange plumbing is proud to overcharge for materials used and well not used The amount of pex stated on the bill vs what was actually used aren't the same as what's in place. I measured just under 50' of 3/4 pex used and 80' is on the bill. They charge by the 20' increments, so if 21 feet is used, 40' will be charged and they keep the extra material even though you pay for it. I only measured about 43' of 1.5"" PVC pipe and 70' is on the bill and was charged $49.50 for every 10'. That's almost 400% more than say buying it at Home Depot. One stick of 2"" pvc pipe was charged $55. The 3"" pvc pipe was billed for 25' used and was charged $247. That's nearly $10 a foot. I get upcharging to make money but at what point is it extortion. The labor cost is reasonable. We call in others for their knowledge and make sure code is followed not to be overcharged on supplies because that is the industry standard.
I hate speaking poorly of local businesses especially because I know how detrimental it can be in a small town but if my experience can help one person, it will have been worth it.
In October, I hired a local plumber to come out and fix a slow drain in my kitchen. They came on a Tuesday, charged me $200 saying it was fixed and left. It was not fixed so I called the next day. They came again and said it was fixed and left. It was not fixed. I called the next day and they sent two more people out. They were down in my basement for a bit and then just left. Next thing I know, Millers septic is here. They come in and tell me there's going to be a ""slight odor"" for a little bit but other than that I get no other information. They're downstairs for awhile then leave. I didn't hear anything else so I finally called Lange and asked what was going on. The guy that answered the phone said I have a blockage believed to be tree roots and that just for the ""work"" they did, I owe them about $1300. He asked if I wanted Lange to come back and clear the blockage. So I'm already in debt $1500 and they haven't even cleared the blockage?! Ok fine. I need my kitchen sink so I agree. They will be back out on Monday. They come, they reroute my pipe. They leave. Drain works. Hallelujah. $2000 later but at least my issue is resolved. Except I keep smelling something awful. Just having had knee surgery 2 weeks prior, I wasn't able to go downstairs to see what was going on. A good friend came by and took some pictures for me. It seems Lange/Millers left a HUGE mess. So I call Lange the next business day and beg them to please make this right. Again I explain I just had knee surgery so I am not able to get downstairs let alone clean something like this up. They advise me to hire a cleaning company at my expense. I asked him if he would hire the cleaner and make this right but he responded with ""No, I didn't make the mess"". I then responded with ""Neither did I!"". After some time and some back and forth he finally agrees to hire K & L cleaning services (I highly recommend K & L)when I tell him I am going to post photos on Facebook showing everyone how they leave their job site. I also told him that I was very concerned about my sump pump as a lot of the sludge and debris fell into the well and is covering the sump pump. He states if the pump does break to call him back and he will fix it free of charge. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I go down into my basement and notice water on the basement floor and the sump pump completely submerged in water. I call Lange and expect him to honor his word. He agrees to come out and I think he's keeping his word. I was so relieved. That is until I get a bill in the mail for $377.50. When I look at the bill, I see I am being charged for a replacement pump, trip charge, connections and labor FOR A PUMP THEY BROKE. I usually do not write bad reviews but for this, I will make an exception. Horrible service. Horrible communication. Extremely high priced. And to add insult to injury, they expect you to clean up after them. Never again.
Bill R.Had a bad experience with Lange. Plumber showed up late. Installed a faucet and after an hour told me the new faucet didn't work. Returned to the shop and came back and replaced the new faucet. Took another hour to complete that task. Billed me for both installations. Called the scheduler and complained. Called the owner and complained. Was charged for travel time, a mileage fuel fee, two hours of plumber time and $140 for a simple faucet. Ridiculous!
Les B.Do not use this company- I cannot go into how many problems I have had with them. On an install they blocked a door in my basement, pinched off a line that made my basement flood, and as of today I've been 2 weeks without hot water. Take your chances.
I made an appointment to have a trailer winterized for an older couple that lives in Illinois and was told that someone would be there between 8 and 8:15. I got here at 7:45 and sat and waited until almost 9am and I finally called them. He did apologize and said the guys did another job before mine in another town and were on there way. I was told they should be there within a half hour. It is now 9:50am and there is still no one here. Not impressed at all and just for the record I know it's not the plumbers fault, it is the man that scheduled the appointment to begin with. If I wanted the appointment later I wouldnt have scheduled it for 8am. Business's need to remember that people make appointments for a reason. Most people do not have the time to sit around and wait. They have other obligations to attend to. Absolutley uncalled for. I have now called and cancelled the appointment and will be calling another company. Thanks for wasting my time.
try and get an appointment, try again. if you get one then you better pray they show up. call them and then they say they are on the way and then never show up, call or anything. I don't know what happen to this business because I have used them in the past and they were awesome. not at all anymore. so sad and frustrating

This company charged me for service that was not pre-authorized by myself. The last time I had them out they put a ""used"" part in my furnace. Called and left message. They never returned my call. I'd call anyone else.
I have used this company only twice and years apart. Each time the same service man was eager to have me replace my entire HVAC system. In fact on the last visit, the system was not fixable. Sad to say I had a competitor look at the system and it still functions just fine. In fact I asked the technician about the very issues my system supposedly had, and he did not see an issue or problem at all. My HVAC continues to work just fine, remarkable given that I was told it was ready for the junk pile. Now I will say that my system is older, HOWEVER it still works just fine. Some day I will be ready to replace the system and the company I will not call is Lange. It is shameful to try and take advantage of people.
I'm having a problem with a plumbing contractor who did work on my home in Juneau County. The business is Lange Plumbing and Heating in New Lisbon WI.
In June of this year Lange Plumbing replaced water line between my well and my home.
During this repair they crushed my septic pipe which later became blocked with sand and backed up raw sewage into my home. Lange Plumbing has not taken responsibly for the damaged septic pipe and has billed me an additional $ 3,800 for its repair.
