We are remodeling two of our bathrooms and last weekend we thought the water heater was going out. Guest bathroom shower was lukewarm at best before being all cold. Checked the water heater pilot light and release valve, nothing there and nothing changed.

We left a message for Mark with the service on Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday). Mark called Monday morning and, OVER THE PHONE, walked my wife through the solution with the contractor's workers. NO Charge!

Mark could have come out and charged us for coming out and solving the problem in five minutes. But he didn't. That is pure customer service and the right thing to do. Mark will get ALL of our plumbing repair business because we know he is fair and knows what he's doing.

This next review is long overdue. A couple of years ago we had some landscaping work done. For some reason, I was ""fixing"" one of the outdoor spigots just outside the master bedroom. In my efforts, the pipe broke INSIDE the wall! I quickly turned off the master water supply and called Lamorinda Plumbing. Mark was there within the hour and had the pipe fixed and the spigot working in another hour. For a very reasonable price. His responsiveness and professionalism are so appreciated.

Mark is professional, personable and he corrected a problem a crooked plumbing service couldn't fix. All at a very reasonable cost. He even wrote us a letter stating what he did so we could dispute the $280 bill with the fraudulent plumbing service, (Rescue Rooter). He will be our go to guy.

Nice guy but can't seem to complete the job in one visit. Water under the sink? He fixed one leak but left two others. Had to pay for a second visit. Shut off water to a pipe? Nope. Had to pay for a second visit. And he can only fix one item per visit rather than fixing them all at once. I don't have time to wait at home for multiple visits (or money to pay for them all).

I have never felt that he overcharges and he has even come and checked things out and told me things to do without charging me for his time... He is also such a nice guy. Over the last 15 years we have had three separate sump pumps installed underneath our home to evacuate water that builds up during the rainy season. The first two of these sump pumps were installed by handymen that retired. The last one was installed in February of 2011 by Marc from lamorinda plumbing company. Marc bought and installed a new pump but used the previous post that evacuated the water. In November of 2011 I noticed water under the house. I scheduled a house inspection to check for any water damage. The inspector discovered that the pump installation was faulty. The pump did not seal properly with the hose and as a result about a third of the water sprayed underneath the house and simply fell back to the ground. I advised Marc of the problem. He came to the house to check on the work and agreed that we needed to connect the pump to PVC pipe rather than the hose. This change would cost me more money. In other words the original job that he did was not done properly. He was a great deal more expensive than the handymen I had used previously. He had charged me two hours of labor at $150 per hour. So for $300 I got a pump that was not installed properly. Then he was going to charge me again to install it properly. I will never use him again.

This is an owner-operated business and Mark, the owner, strikes me as being incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and dedicated. He's helped us out of many a pinch and is always quick to follow up on the work. He is also very easy going and pleasant to work with. It's great to have someone we can trust to call upon.
