READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU USE THIS PLACE!!! Emergency service called due to a guest stating toilet and shower were not draining. Our NEST and RING recorded the technician stating it was from a tampon but don't worry, he's not going to list that because that's BS and the owner should pay for it. He them went on to state to our guests that a place like ours probably brought in $10,000 a month and he has no sympathy for us. Then our RING caught him saying that the owners usually pay for things like this (even thought our contractor had just finished plumbing work the week before and there's a reason the VHR certificates go for so much money. I contacted Steve, the owner, and he said it was a main line clog. Not one word about the technician stating the above to our guests. So unprofessional. We just paid the bill for $240 which we will be disputing with our credit card company. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rarely leave any reviews online, but need to do this today! Just cannot believe what has happened! In early Feb, my property manger informed me that the furnace of my vacation house seemed to be not running (turned out to be a misjudgement later). I called Lake Tahoe Plumbing and Heating, and was told the service charge will be $70. I called a couple times that day and never got an update. The second day, the owner called me and said the furnace was running when the technician got there, but it was old, and suggested me to replace the whole furnace. I asked again, since they did not do anything at all, what the charge would be. He said he still needed to charge $70 service fee, and he would send me the invoice along with the quote of replacing the furnace. That is fine. However, since then, I have never heard from this company again. Over two months later, my credit card shows $140 charged by this company. I called, and now the owner says he never said $70 and someone spent one hour in my house that day so $140. I cannot believe a person can just deny what he said like that! He did agree that the furnace was running and they did nothing. Then, why one hour? Just watch it running? What about the invoice and the quote? Now I was told they had my email address wrong. But you do have my phone number and mailing address, right? In addition to that, since their ""service"" day till the day we arrived at the house, I had no tenant in between, a new ladder and a fairly new steam iron in the garage were gone. They were actually the only portable worthy items that someone can access from garage entry. What a coincidence! I know, after all, this is just a couple of hundred dollars wasted for nothing, but the whole experience makes me so sad and disappointed! I love Lake Tahoe, and have met many nice people here. For years, I have worked with quite some contractors in the area, while we were present or not during the service, never had an experience like this. My lesson learned is: NEVER NEVER NEVER do business with this company again! This was my 1st time working with Lake Tahoe Plumbing and Heating, definitely the last time!

This place really helped us out and did a great job repairing our heater at our cabin in South Lake Tahoe.
We arrived in the evening and came into our cabin without a working heater. Froze our buns off that night -
Next morning my husband called around to get someone out to help us as soon as possible.
Other places said can't help today or not taking on more clients right now, but this place came out within an hour and fixed our heater on the spot.
We experienced great service and appreciate their quick response to our heating issues.

Once again Steve the owner would not communicate and there service man Todd wasted an hour and Steve would not talk to me to compromise. STAY AWAY. The company is rotten to the core. Steve the owner took a minute to discover that they invoice us for the wrong hours @ $140.00 per hour.....he said he would look into it deeper, but why not just send an honest invoice in the first place. Our maintenance manager (Jeff) clocked them in at 10 am and out at 12:30 pm 2.5 hours.....and that included the usual dilly dallying by the technician but still some how there is an hour error....This job main line snake is maximum $200.00 in the State of CA. Even if you add another $40.00 for equipment it should never be $530.00 I got taken, I have been doing this since 1984.....watch out !

When a contractor come out bids a job and as soon as they start the job more than doubles their estimated price and comes up with a story that turns out to be false this is a problem. We had a sewer main break under one of our rentals. All that was necessary was to raise the sewer main and tie it back in. The plumber from Lake Tahoe plumbing told the owner it was going to require double the estimated cost of job. I called another contractor who completed the job which included backfilling a huge unnecessary hole out in front of the unit in four hours. Lake Tahoe Plumbing told the homeowner that if the job was done correctly (which is was) they would not charge him anything. Lake Tahoe plumbing charged the homeowner $400.00. They did not keep their word. I would never recommend this contractor to anybody !!

Lake Tahoe Plumbing & Heating came to the rescue again!
They always take good care of our plumbing needs!

I wanted to like them so bad, but honestly I felt like Lake Tahoe Plumbing & Heating is a very incompetence & inefficient company.
We have a rental in South Lake Tahoe and had an emergency with our central heating. Furnace went out and our guests were left without any heat in the middle of winter. Called this company out that day and they were able to come out same day (awesome, but....), got charged 1.5 hour worth of work ($120/hour), and they still wasn't able to get the furnace back on. They recommended a new motor in the short term, and a new furnace in the long term. Okay.... we ordered the new motor and waited for a furnace quote for FIVE DAYS! Let me remind you.... I STILL HAVE NO HEAT in the house during a snow storm!!
On day 2, I called back to see if the new motor arrived, lady who was on the phone was super impatience and hung up on me. So instead of waiting for their furnace quote & new motor to arrive, I called Rudy's. Keith came out same day, took 10mins to get my furnace back on, and was able to give me a complete quote for a new furnace few hours later.
I just don't understand how can the quality of people between two companies varies THAT much. If you are looking to pay more ($120 vs $105/ hour), get nothing in return, & get bad customer service.... call them.

Wow! This business is an absolute zero!!! Just had an emergency situation with my central heat in South Lake. Called this company trying to schedule an tech's visit. The lady who answered the phone treated me like a common criminal. Refused to answer any of my questions and concerns and kept yelling at me. Any thing I asked - she just replied with the word ""negative"". Examples:
""Can I get the name of the person I'm speaking with"" - her reply - ""negative"".
""Once a technician gets to the house and looks at the problem, can he/she call me from there before doing the work"" - ""negative"".
""Why not, I'am sure they have a cell phone and I wouldn't be comfortable approving work right now without being given an estimate first by the tech"" - ""negative, if you want the estimate first, he'll have to come back to the office and only we can tell you what you need, but then the work will not be done until after New Years"" .
""That doesn't work, as we need the heat in the house ASAP, can't you be a bit more understanding and flexible"" - ""negative"" (with a very clear indication of annoyance in the voice)
Finally, I couldn't take her saying the word ""negative"" anymore and said, why are you talking to me like an answering service instead of trying to understand my concerns like a real person.
Guess what she did! She yelled at me, "" how dear you talk to me like that"", and hung up the phone on me!!!
I have never experienced a behavior more rude and ridiculous from a place I am trying to give my business to. I never called back, of course. But I am glad I did not try to use them after reading all the awful reviews for this business form others!

I have lived in the South Lake Tahoe area for the better part of the last 2 years. I own a condo near Heavenly's Nevada side. On the occasions when I've needed to call a local business for service of one kind or another -- HVAC, plumbing, etc. -- I've had consistently negative experiences. Businesses fail to answer their phones when I call (during business hours), fail to call me back when I've left messages, and fail to make proper repairs when they actually show up to do the work! It's the stereotypical ""Tahoe Repair"" that's made where a leaky faucet begins leaking again weeks after the repair was made!
FINALLY, I've found a business that acts like a business in South Lake Tahoe! I called Lake Tahoe Plumbing today when I awoke to a backed up sewer main that had 2' of sewage in my downstairs bathtub and THEY ANSWERED ON THE FIRST RING! AMAZING!
I was told that the plumber was on a call and that I was next. This was exactly what I needed, as I had a brief 5-hour window to do turn down on my vacation rental between guests checking out this morning and more coming in this afternoon.
Pete arrived within an hour and because of the steps to my unit, he had to call an assistant to the job to help carry the 300lb. snake up the steps to clear the blockage in my building's sewer main. They worked for 3.5 hours in the snow and in 15 degree temperatures to clear the blockage. All 4 units are occupied this weekend because it's New Year's Eve!
None of us could flush or shower or do dishes and this was a disaster in the making on the busiest weekend of the year for all of us owners in the building. Lake Tahoe Plumbing saved the day for all of us.
I sincerely appreciate Steve and his team for doing an amazing job. He took the time to speak with me on the phone when I called in with additional questions. This is a true businessman who understands servicing clients, being prompt and being professional.
It wasn't cheap for the repairs, but given my experience with Lake Tahoe Plumbing, it was worth every dollar and I will use them again should I ever need their services.
I ran a 5-star Yelp construction business in SF for 10 years and I wasn't the cheapest, either. But, my customers always got exceptional service, workmanship, and dependability. I worked hard to earn my 5-star reputation but my customers were always happy they chose me because there's nothing better than a contractor who shows up on time and does the job right. There's no price you can put on that.
Thanks guys!

HI all. just to let everyone know this company is a rip off. The tec. was nice enough but the cost was way too much.
I had them come up to fix my heater which was making noise. Granted it is an older model. There are a total of 5 nuts to remove the fan and fan motor. They replaced the fan and the fan motor to the tune of over $700.00. They were in the house for no more than 2 hours( that is being generous) total ..They had to come back 3times...the parts were about $200.00 so the labor for that little work was over $500.00.
Stay away from these guys or at the very least get them to tell U up front what their cost are going to be, or U will be shocked and disappointed in their work.
I was never told any pricing or how drive time is at the same rate even though they knew what was required of the job after the first 5 minutes in the house.
I would give them 0 stars if I could.
Do yourself a favor and go to someone with a little more interest in helping out.
I've lived in tahoe for over 25 years and have never had such an expensive service that still isn't right, but I will call someone else....Not to mention I will be telling everyone I know to go someplace else.
