Outrageous prices and combative management. On New Year's day we had a drain back up from over zealous toilet paper use. Because we knew what the problem was and we had other working plumbing we waited until the next business day to call for a plumber so that we would not incur an extra fee. We called Lake Cook Plumbing and at that point had to wait two days for a plumber. The plumber gave us an estimate for $900. My husband unfortunately approved this and within 45 minutes the drain was clear. The plumber did have to remove the toilet to snake the drain but I thought that $900, for less than an hour of work must have been a mistake. I called the company to make sure this price was correct and the manager proceeded to give me a lecture on how legitimate companies have overhead, insurance, salaries, etc. and that he felt I was bullying him by questioning his fees. If you have a plumbing issue Lake Cook Plumbing will be able to remedy it but only after you wait days for a technician and then over pay.

Based on the reviews from Yelp, I was a little concerned about Lake Cook Plumbing, I expressed my concern to the dispatcher, later on the owner called me and ensured me that my concerns were unfounded and promised to send me one of their best technicians to resolve my plumbing issue which they did in a very quick and efficient way. I plan on using them again

They are crooks. I called to repair a small drip on a pipe in my barn. I am selling the house and had a home inspection set for that day. They fixed the drip in 5 minutes but opened the drain on the water heater soaking the floor. They claimed there was another drip that caused all the water. I had another company come out and they fixed the drip in another 5 minutes. They also showed me what they did. They did this because the tech said it would cost $800 and another $1600 for a water heater. The other company fixed this tiny drip for $100. I have since filed complaints with the BBB and the IL DPR. I also had to explain to inspectors why the floor was soaked

Very disappointed in this company. I clearly explained what I wanted done to the owner. The requested job was to hang and hook up a small 10 by 19 wall hung space saving sink. The plumber then arrived and told my husband that he would not be able to distinguish where the studs were to hang the already purchased sink even though we clearly knew where the studs are because we had already removed the medicine cabinet above and been able to visualize them. He directed my husband to go purchase a vanity instead and he would come back next week to install... And that to hookup would run 1200 dollars and that he needed to pay a 600 dollar deposit. 1200 dollars for what will be a more than 2 hour job....and also the additional cost of another sink to make the installers job easier. What I am most angry about is that he flat out lied to my husband in regards to the sink I already purchased...saying it was unsafe and thus a health risk. Absolutely ridiculous! We already have a wall hung sink in a bath upstairs and is mounted into studs and bracketed and have never had issues is sturdy and safe when correctly installed. What a rip off!! Taking advantage of my husband's lack of knowledge and gullibility and also using the fact that we thought this was a trustworthy company to turn a small job into a much bigger more expensive one...i immediately called and asked for owner but he was unavailable and has not returned my calls...i am awaiting a refund of deposit as we will absolutely not be allowing this company to do any work... Totally NOT trustworthy.

Professional con artists. We had a baked up kitchen sink - paid the $50 fee to show up - then to be told it would cost just under $700 to unclog the drain.

Of course I declined, called another group who charged just under $200 for about 45mins of work!

I've since called back and demanded our $50 dollars back - but beer beware these people are crooks! There's no need to put people through something like this!

They need to re-evaluate their pricing model - If I only read these reviews before hand - but as I'm sure some can relate, when in need you just call..

#bebetter Lake Cook Plumbing - aka crooks

I had a horrible experience with them and I cannot believe that anybody would recommend them to do anything. At one point I was out like $1,000 to them and they didn't fix my problem 1iota. In the end we settled for me paying them $500 but I believe they had no intention of fixing my problem. Only hustling me. They were the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Luckily I found a reputable plumber who fix the problem entirely for around $200. It's nice to know that there are honest people out there but Lake Cook Plumbing is not one of them

My kitchen disposal backed up on a Friday. I called Lake Cook and was willing to wait for service on Monday because I didn't want to pay extra for for weekend/emergency service. The technician came promptly on Monday and removed the clog. No problem.

The problem was the price he quoted. I accepted the charge because I felt over a barrel. I had already waited and couldn't wait longer to get additional quotes. The work took about 20 minutes. The charge was $403!!! I think this was about two times the standard charge. In January the same company came out to unclog a toilet. They charged $150. What happened? Although Lake Cook's service has been fine, I feel ripped off and will look for another plumber next time.

We bought a new kitchen sink & faucet to have installed. Called these guys to come out & do it for us. They said it would be $1,500 because of a ""notch job"" done previously. Called some other reputable plumber in Lake Zurich, came out and did it for $500!
Oh and these guys make you pay $50 just to come out for 30 minutes and give you a quote. NEVER USE THESE SCAMMERS.

Problem: Cracked closet flange below toilet.
Their solution: Rather than remove/replace the closet flange, they want to tear up the ceiling in the room below, cut the main drain pipe and replace it. In other words, instead of suggesting the low cost, simple solution they want you to pay $$$$$ for repairs.
Warning: they charge you $49 just for showing up and giving you a quote. What a great business model! They drive around all day giving absurdly high cost quotes and then charge their victims $49 per visit!

Had water back up in the basement, called this company and they responded within an hour. Plumber tried to snake the drain from the spot that the water was coming in from. After about 45 minutes, he walked me across the street and lifted the sewer cover and blamed the town I live in, and to call them.

I called the Town and they lifted the sewer cover in front of my home, NOT across the street, and showed me that everything was in working order.

Essentially, I got rolled for over $500 for a guy to do nothing at all.
