Mike is the bomb!!!! I called on a Saturday at 5:30pm and he picked up the phone. That right there was pretty impressive, because a lot of people in the trades don't want to deal with after hours calls, especially on a weekend.

He not only picked up, he offered to come out the next day, Sunday, to look at our leaky hot water heater! There was no schpiel about a minimum charge, it's a weekend rate yadda, yadda, yadda. He just offered to come out, take a look and help if he could.

When he showed up exactly on time, I was pretty damned impressed, but wait! It gets even better! It turns out that the leak was not coming from the hot water heater, but from the sink fixture. The sink fixture had a slow leak that was dripping into the base cabinet, leaking out the bottom of the cabinet and the water was spreading out from there. He fixed it in about 30 seconds by just tightening the spigot. Sure, he could have said it was the hot water heater and charge a lot of $$$$, but this is an honest guy and he did not. AND HE DIDN'T CHARGE FOR A SERVICE CALL AT ALL. Dudes and dudettes - if you have a plumbing problem, call this guy. He is honest, prompt, pleasant and not out to screw you over. Thank you, Mike!!!

I was referred to Mike Levey, Owner, and he was so willing to arrange his schedule to come to my house hours after I called. I realize that that can't always happen but my concern became his concern, AND that's what matters.
I'm very grateful to find someone that cares.

I found Mike through the glowing Yelp reviews and can't emphasize enough how amazing he is. I have never had a plumber be so generous with his time and expertise. My tankless water heater suddenly stopped working. He talked with me and diagnosed the problem correctly over the phone, then helped me figure out where to order the part since the manufacturer wasn't answering their phones due to the huge East Coast storm. If it wasn't for Mike I would have spent much more money and time. Mike is hands down the nicest and most helpful plumber ever!!

We have had banging in our walls whenever the water has been in use for about two years . The knocking was getting worse so we went straight to our trusty yelp to help us find a new plumber . After 9 years of loyalty our old plumber told us he had no idea what it could be other than an water hammer and they would charge $120 for a quote. . Micheal arrived on time with a huge truck full of all the parts our regular plumber has to run and get. Micheal found that the banging had come from a pipe that in the wall that had not been secured . He recommended I call the contractor that did the work . There are so many plumbers out there that would have sold me a bunch of stuff and charged me a fortune and nothing would have been achieved . He refused payment for the best part of an hour that he spent at our house . I cant recommend him highly enough .

Michael is the best plumber hands down. He has been our plumber for over 10 years. He just came out to fix something and was so fast and helpful. Here are the pluses about him.
1. Very responsive. Returns calls right away. Also called me to let me know he was nearby.
2. Very knowledgeable. Knows his stuff. Fixed a major problem today quickly. Also recommend some maintenance I wasn't aware we needed to preserve our tankless water heater.
3. Friendly and communicates clearly. He answers all of your questions and makes sure you understand.
4. Reasonably priced.
If you need a great plumber, Michael is the guy.

Michael is amazing. When our gas was abruptly shut off I called him immediately, as he had done other work in our house and I knew how terrific he was. He worked me into his busy day and quickly and effectively identified and fixed the problem. A day later, I had a separate problem with my water heater and again he slotted me into his busy schedule--I felt so fortunate. He's excellent at his job and a pleasure to work with. Truly the best there is. I highly recommend him!

I'm certainly not surprised to see 28 5-star reviews here. Michael Levey installed a tankless gas water heater for us back in 2007 (by the way, tankless is the way to go, if you can). He was extremely professional and knowledgeable - he had helped us decide which tankless to go with (Noritz), so I kept his card for the next time we needed a plumber. That day was today...the water heater wasn't getting hot so I called Michael to set up an appointment. He told me what he thought the problem was (he was right), came over promptly at the scheduled time. He doesn't carry the part, which he had told me over the phone, so I need to order it from the manufacturer. He did show me how to install it myself although I know he would be happy to come back and do it if I need it. Since he was here for all of 10 minutes, he didn't even charge me for his time, which I totally appreciate. Sometimes I hesitate to write a good review because I worry that person will become too busy, but the heck with that! Do not hesitate to call Michael at LA Sustainable Plumping with any plumbing problems you will have.
