Michael is the best plumber hands down. He has been our plumber for over 10 years. He just came out to fix something and was so fast and helpful. Here are the pluses about him.
1. Very responsive. Returns calls right away. Also called me to let me know he was nearby.
2. Very knowledgeable. Knows his stuff. Fixed a major problem today quickly. Also recommend some maintenance I wasn't aware we needed to preserve our tankless water heater.
3. Friendly and communicates clearly. He answers all of your questions and makes sure you understand.
4. Reasonably priced.
If you need a great plumber, Michael is the guy.

Michael is amazing. When our gas was abruptly shut off I called him immediately, as he had done other work in our house and I knew how terrific he was. He worked me into his busy day and quickly and effectively identified and fixed the problem. A day later, I had a separate problem with my water heater and again he slotted me into his busy schedule--I felt so fortunate. He's excellent at his job and a pleasure to work with. Truly the best there is. I highly recommend him!

I'm certainly not surprised to see 28 5-star reviews here. Michael Levey installed a tankless gas water heater for us back in 2007 (by the way, tankless is the way to go, if you can). He was extremely professional and knowledgeable - he had helped us decide which tankless to go with (Noritz), so I kept his card for the next time we needed a plumber. That day was today...the water heater wasn't getting hot so I called Michael to set up an appointment. He told me what he thought the problem was (he was right), came over promptly at the scheduled time. He doesn't carry the part, which he had told me over the phone, so I need to order it from the manufacturer. He did show me how to install it myself although I know he would be happy to come back and do it if I need it. Since he was here for all of 10 minutes, he didn't even charge me for his time, which I totally appreciate. Sometimes I hesitate to write a good review because I worry that person will become too busy, but the heck with that! Do not hesitate to call Michael at LA Sustainable Plumping with any plumbing problems you will have.

I have known Michael Levey for 10 years. He does high quality work for reasonable prices. He tells you straight out what needs to be done and what doesn't need to be done. At times when he is too busy he takes the time to help me diagnose the problem so that if he cant get to me in a timely fashion and need to call someone else, I know what to ask for and what to expect. He is my go to guy for plumbing and has been a great resource for referrals for other needs.

Michael Levey is the best plumber I've ever used. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing, is unfailingly responsive, prompt, fair and efficient. The bonus is that he's a nice and funny guy, a pleasure to work with. He helped me navigate warranty issues on my tankless water heater and has kept my family in hot water, in the best and most literal way! He always answers my questions immediately, and has even advised me on plumbing issues with my father-in-law's house from out of town. If/when the next plumbing crisis arises, I know it will be ok because Michael Levey will be here to fix it.

called around 8:30a on a monday for a clogged kitchen sink, but since they weren't able to visit same day, they gave me the direct number for their drain clearing guy, ben nuckolls.

-- scheduled for 10a, came at 10a.

-- cleared the drain in 20 minutes -- organized, professional tools, cleaned up afterward.

-- even did some re-plumbing of the disposal with parts he had on hand. honestly my kitchen sink plumbing was a frankenstein monster of pipes and loose joints.

-- and charged less than the $99 drain clearing rate you might have heard on the radio from other companies

Michael is really great at his job. He is informative and knowledgable, and really takes you through the process of assessing your needs and helping to decide what is your best option.

He removed a large old water heater for us and replaced it with a tankless, complete with alarm and all accoutrements. He works very cleanly, makes himself available at your best times, and even came back to tweak and adjust things after the installation.

I would highly recommend this company for any of your plumbing needs. Plus they are Eco-friendly and reliable, and reasonably priced. Great job and thank you Michael.

Hiring a plumber is usually like going to the car mechanic for me. I dread it with every shred of my being. Michael at sustainable plumbing helped change that for me. Michael was incredibly responsive and willing to stop and give me an estimate for free. He was professional, very tidy, and extremely personable.

He was willing to take the time and explain all the issues and solutions to me, and was very honest regarding the pricing.
