I have used the services of LA Blue since about 2004 and have always been extremely satisfied. I have two apartments, each with a gas wall heater. I want to provide my tenants with a safe and efficient heating solution, this is a top priority and I have called on LA Blue many times over the years to service and do safety checks. I totally rely on them and have the utmost confidence in the quality and excellence of their work. I highly recommend them.

I usually don't write any reviews good or bad. However, this time I felt obnoxious for the lack of service from this company. I used Ricky's service back in December 2017 when my water heater broke just 2 days before new year. I called Ricky who was very nice to come out immediately to help as it was really cold. He came and replaced the thermo couple which took about less than an hour and charged me $350. He justified the higher price for the tiny copper wire being expensive. I also needed his help with a heating/cooling unit at my condo which really had an old heating element inside the air handler. My HOA told me that only this company and another one knows this and nobody else can do this as this is old and way back from 1974. He looked at it for a long time and finally figured out it was the relay which was causing the issue. He originally quoted me $750 for replacing the heating element but still charged me the same price for replacing the relay. I justified it to myself that he came immediately during holidays, so, didn't want to complain. Recently, when the A/C unit didn't cool the condo, I called, texted and put in a request via their website for help. I did this because the receipt says the work had a 1 year warranty. Me not knowing the difference between the heating and cooling, waiting for a response from Ricky but nobody called or responded. Then, I figured it out on my own that A/C (cooling) is different and it has nothing to do with the heating and got somebody else to help me with it. Even if they thought it has nothing to do with them, I wish they should have responded to me to convey it. I don't know if I really want to go back to this company after all this and also them being very expensive.

It didn't take Ricky long to troubleshoot our heating issue. He provided a quote (which I verified was reasonable) and then got our heater up and running that same day. The new thermostat wasn't locking in as expected -- it protruded from the wall just a bit. After working with it for a while, he replaced it with another new unit, which locked in just fine. I appreciate that Ricky took the time to ensure that everything was just right.

LA Blue came out, used my Filter, and charged me $89 for a service call. The Owner (Rick) was at my house maybe 15 minutes tops, and most of the time he was staring down at his cell phone. After he had left, I went out for the evening, came back and my heater was still blowing cold air. So I went to google and youtube to troubleshoot the problem and found out: 1) $89 was standard for a heating service; 2) a standard service includes cleaning the heat sensor and a filter if needed.
The repairman used my backup filter, and I didn't see him clean anything. So I went to youtube and inquired on how to clean a heating sensor and found it was relatively simple and accessible. I removed the heat sensor (one screw), used a brillo pad and an old piece of sand paper (as instructed), and cleaned the sensor. My heater now works correctly. You would think this would be the end of the experience. Nope - my wife gets home, and I bragged to her about what I did, and she replies, ""I used them about a year ago, "" and the repairman said he had to clean the sensor and charged me almost $200 (she is the one who recommended I use LA Blue).
It pains me to have to negatively Yelp a black owned business because I love spending my money with my folks, but in this case, a negative 1 Star is warranted. LA Blue billed me for service and materials they did not perform or supply. It's not like I was asking for a discount or special treatment, so I expect if I pay your fee the work is performed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

I recently had my kitchen remodeled. I needed a plumber to install my dishwasher. The first plumbing company that I used started the installation but left the job unfinished. My HOA recommended LA Blue. I spoke with Ricky several times, as I was cautious about hiring the right people after my nightmare experience with the first plumbing company. Ricky was patient and responsive. He sent his guy over as scheduled, and his guy finished the job at a reasonable time. Total bill was less than what the first company had quoted me. I would recommend.

Multiple issues in my old 1924 bungalow. I was very happy with the service provided by Milton and Tony. They listened to me and did not try to make me pay more than I needed to. They also allowed me to see the pipes that needed replacement. Rickey was also on hand for questions and reassurance. Very professional. Call them!

Back in January, we didn't know who to call for a heater/thermostat issue, so we resorted to Yelp. We came across LA Blue, and Ricky was our guy. He went right out when we called on a Saturday and fixed the issue. Our tenant commented on how professional and nice Ricky is. Last week, another issue came up with another tenant's air conditioning. I called Ricky, again on a Saturday, and he offered to go right over. But our tenant was on her way out. So she and Ricky coordinated an appointment. When I followed up with our tenant, she said Ricky fixed the problem, and that he was really a nice guy.
Ricky is 2 for 2 in our book! He hasn't asked me for a review. But Ricky...we have your number and will continue giving you our business! Everyone is so happy with your prompt responses, professionalism, and kindness. We will recommend you and your company to everyone! Thank you!!

Unreliable...needed heater repaired for appraisal. Missed appointment first day said needed part. Said would be out next day. Next day no call until I called at 5pm. Said couldn't find part and would have to try next day....complete waste of time.
