My son attempted to repair a leaky faucet in my tub. After taking it apart the cartridge was broken. Called L&J to finish the job. They came the next day, spent 5 minutes and said they needed a part. They asked for and received a $50 deposit. I called after a few days but was told they would get back to me. Almost a week later they called to tell me that they had to order the part. It would take another 3 to 5 days and would cost $129. I agreed but I had the cartridge in my hand and it was this little piece of plastic. He assured me this is what they pay for it. I brought it down to a plumbing supply and they didn't have it but he told me where to go. When I told him what I was quoted for the part he asked the name of the plumber. I said L&J. He rolled his eyes and said he always hears how they rip people off. I went and got the part at another distributor for $9. That's right! Nine dollars!!! As L& J had my deposit, (my first mistake) I had them come back to install the cartridge. Two guys showed up and it took 10 minutes. They then got the office on the phone and they wanted $150 when I was quoted $100. They said the extra $50 was for the first visit. So much for the advertised free estimate! I told them that I wasn't paying the extra $50. The owner is on speaker in my kitchen and in front of these two men he begins to scream and curse at me to the point where I thought he might stroke out. I'm a disabled senior citizen! I was not going to be intimidated. As a former business woman. I'm accustomed to the occasional bully and rip off artist! They left with only $100!!! Good plumbers but one of the worst experiences ever! Total scammer, rip off artist and extraordinary disrespectful and unprofessional! DO NOT use this Plummer unless you have money to burn and enjoy being treated poorly

Driver literally drove me off the road this morning in Woodbury, I had to swerve into the center turning lane on Jericho, and he kept coming into the lane despite me honking. When we arrived at the RED LIGHT seconds later, he puts his phone out the window and taps it like a. watch. Bro, LEAVE ON TIME THEN. What a horrible human.
I would never use such a disrespectful company, and I hope anyone reading this will think twice about hiring the guy who didn't care at all about endangering me by forcing me into the center lane so he could get to the red light first.
DESPICABLE. If only 0 stars were an option. Especially since your drivers have been horrible for years according to the other reviews. Disgusting.

They used to service my 711 store. Some of the work could have been better. Unfortunately the toilet installation was poorly done, and we still have problems with leakage from it. Other major plumbing like underneath the entire building went well and I haven't had any issues.

My dang dog pooped in the toilet and clogged it, so I called this place 10 times and they didn't pick up. I feel personally offended because now I think I'm ugly. My face is weird and it looks like my dogs poop. They really made me cry. No.

If you have been following my heating saga. Here is the whole story
I call L&J Plumbing & Heating, S. 1st Street, Lindenhurst the week of December 9, 2019.
My gas system was making a squealing noise, which was determined, that a transmitter was shorting out from a water drip.
They came back on 12/23 to change out the part. The part they replaced it with was supposedly compatible. HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT. It was shorting out the whole system so from the evening of Tuesday, 12/23 through Saturday, December 28, I had no heat. They came back several times with three different plumbers and nobody could figure out why. On Thursday, December 26, they searched for the exact part and had it shipped over night but it did not arrive in time on Friday, December 27 for them to install the part. They came on December 28 to install the new part. FINALLY, I HAVE HEAT. However, there is a BIG BUT.... My system now has become one zone instead of two zones. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. There are wires hanging which belong to the upstairs thermostat, but they are not connected. The downstairs is controlling everything. Therefore, it is extremely hot upstairs. My radiant heat is still working in the den.
So now, the water is still dripping from the relief valve even more than before. The expansion tank should be changed but they are not doing that. The valve needs to be replaced as well. I am now being told to hire an electrician to fix the problem they created. They feel it was wired wrong to begin with and no one is taking responsibility.
I would report them to the BBB, but they are not a member, so you cannot leave a complaint.
I have never been so disappointed in a company. They came highly recommended to me. They do not have good reviews on Yelp. Plumbers have recently advised me that they would never use them.
This has been such a disappointment from a company that is from our community. I feel they are incompetent and do not know what they are doing. I am now in the process of bringing someone else in to fix the mess they have created.
I've asked to speak with the owner and only get a dispatcher. My son has stepped in and there workers dont want to be involved. I am so done with this. Now I have to hire someone else.
I am just letting everyone out there about my experience with L & J Plumbing and Heating from Lindenhurst.

Just an updated. The release valve was bad and so was the expansion tank. they also disconnected the safety mechanism on the system.

Used L & J Plumbing because they were recommended to me. Big mistake!! Their plumber damaged my marble vanity top when replacing faucets, and then denied doing it. It wasn't there before he started, so how did it get damaged. Called L & J many times, and 4 times they set up an appointment to look at the damage, but they never showed up or gave me the courtesy of a phone call. There are good plumbers, out there, don't use them.

As a professional my company expects me to represent them in the best light when in public on duty. I think most companies would expect the same from their employees. Today I ran into the rudest employee of L & J. He was letting a car make an illegal turn where there was no light during traffic. Because no one else would let the car through the 2 lanes of traffic because traffic from the opposite way would not have allowed the car the safely and quickly make the u turn the employee got stuck in his lane. He began screaming like a lunatic that we should all go die and cursing. When we got to the light I told him him to calm down and he screamed at me and spit on my car. To the bald eye glassed middle aged employee, you are so very classy. As a homeowner in the area I will be sure to stay clear of your business if I need plumbing and heating services.

DO NOT USE!!!! They are liars and crooks! They charged me for replacing a diverter in my bathtub. Said it turns out that wasn't the problem and needed a whole new shower unit (knobs and pipes) and will cost about $800 on top of what I already paid them. Because they failed to arrive on time to finish the job, I fired them and got a new plumber. Guess what?? They never even replaced the diverter, although they had no problem charging me for it. They just said they did so they can bill me for a bigger job. New plumber changed it, with me watching, and everything is working great. He even left me the diverter he removed as proof that it was not new.
