Doug's the guy! Had a late night main that busted and he came over in less than 15mins and fixed it fast and I was thinking it would've cost me an arm and a leg to fix it since it was very late at night...but Doug hooked it up with a very reasonable price.

Went to George's Plumbing this morning in my alpha male role to fix two valve stems for a bathtub that is older than John Kerry's hair. The nice guy at the counter explained that "" it's pretty straight forward but these stems are ""old as John Kerry's hair"" which I thought was odd since that is my line. Anyway, he told me that with some spacers you ""should"" be able to get it done.

My alpha male role immediately went to alpha beta role and I went shopping. How many of you remember Alpha Beta? Anyway, the guy at the counter gave me Doug Kuttruff's number. Knowing this was a scam I immediately called Doug. Now, Doug is not exactly a ball of fire on the phone. To say he is laid back is to call Steven Wright a ball of fire. Anyway, I explained my wussy situation and like a fireman saying ""yea, I'll get the cat out of the tree"" he said he'd be there about noon.

Noon 0 1 comes and he arrives. What a great guy! ""Got everything on the truck (does that include my dignity) and he gets to work. About 5 minutes later (I think he worked about 2 minutes longer than he need to just to save some shred of pride. A little ""boy this is tricky"" wouldn't have hurt, Doug).

All done, clean, perfect, spent less than what I thought I was going to. And we learn our boys are the same grade at the same high school. With that handy piece of info, we'll be making friends.

Doug is awesome! He is fair, quick and responsible. He saved my home and he is reasonable with his prices. What more can you ask?

My sink was stopped up, my faucets were not working and my shower barely had water dripping out of it. He fixed it all in one day, then he ordered parts for my shower and was back within 24 hours to fix it. I was worried because I have a high end German brand shower system, but he was familiar with it and knew exactly how to fix it! And it is working great.

Oh and last month he installed my new water heater I ordered online after my old one blew up. I had three plumbers turn down installing a water heater that they did not sell me, and Doug came over and had it in the wall and working within an hour. Sears tried to rip me off and charge me over $700.00 in labor and parts (NEVER order installation from SEARS if you live in Pasadena) and Doug fixed it.!

Had these guys do a service in Arcadia / Monrovia area. Arrived on time and was able to fix two pipes (kitchen sink and outdoor hose) in a short amount of time (less than 30 minutes).

Called him because my kitchen sink was draining outside the house instead of in the main drain/pipe.
It was Sunday of a 3 day weekend. He quoted me a fair price, offered to come by right away, which he did, was friendly and professional, did the job quickly. All that in less than 30 mins. I paid the amount quoted over the phone.

To summarize my experience: honest, competent, professional, efficient, fair price.

Doug Kuttruff is my uncle. I have been trying to find my Aunt Kathy (his sister) since my mother's passing. But he has stopped writing me back. I'm desperately trying to get info so i can get back in contact with my siblings who lived with my mother and aunt at the time of my mothers passing. If anyone see's this and actually talks to Doug please tell him that his Niece needs his help.

I called him to my house to install a new toilet and to haul away the old one. He quoted me $125. He came over, on time. After he was done he was leaving the old toilet in my backyard. I reminded him that my understanding was that he would take it. He hesitantly took the old toilet away, but charged me $150. Gave him a benefit of the doubt. So I tried him the 2nd time in less than a week b/c my second toilet had a leak. He just tightened the bolts inside the water tank and charged me $125. Maybe I am wrong, but this seems too much for a 15-minute job. I thought I found a reasonable plumber, but maybe not. I will continue looking for a more reasonable plumber.

I had high hopes based on the Yelp reviews, but I'm starting to wonder if the reviews on Yelp are made by friends of businesses. I had some pipes rattling under my house. When the owner, Doug, offered to come out on Saturday, I was happy he was willing to work on the weekend. I told him about this rattling of pipes under my house and offered for him to go under, so he could more thoroughly investigate. He gave me this look, like he really did not want to, and asked to hear the noise from inside my house. I let him in, and he started rattling the toilet handle, which also made my pipes rattle. So, at the time, I was happy that this appeared to be a simple fix. However, I was not thrilled that he charged me $110 for 10 minutes of work to replace the inner toilet fixture, but I was not going to complain because I felt relieved it was not a larger problem....WRONG...within 1-2 weeks later the rattling started again. So, I'm feeling like my initial gut feeling of wanting this plumber to investigate the real cause was correct, and it bothers me that this guy took the easy way out to make a quick and overpriced buck.
