I’m Jason Krooswyk, and I took over Tom Krooswyk Plumbing and Heating from my father in August 2014. Founded in 1988, Tom Krooswyk Plumbing and Heating has been a family business, and I worked alongside my dad from 1997 to 2014. I live in Demotte, Indiana, with my wife Jennifer, married for 15 years, and our two kids, Breanna and Austin. I have spent most of my life living and working in Jasper, Newton, and Porter counties, and I plan to expand my business in the same manner I learned throughout the years.

This business bills people without disclosing ---and refusing to disclose the breakdown of costs. When a simple faucet installation costs over $400 and they won't tell you how much the faucet itself costs, there is a problem. I would not recommend them if you want open and honest business dealings.

Our air conditioner stopped emitting ""cold"" air late last night/early this morning. Contacted Krooswyk Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, Jason, the owner, emailed us back right away, even though it was before business hours. Faith, one of his technicians, came to our house at 8:30 am. We were sure we'd have to purchase a new A/C unit, and were cringing, thinking about a 4-figure price tag. Faith thoroughly checked out the unit, and found that the capacitor needed to be replaced. She told us we didn't need a new A/C unit! She cleaned the unit, checked everything else, and installed the replacement part. We're cool cats again! Faith is AMAZING!

Place is a overpriced joke that doesn't go 20 minutes away from their shop. Also had friends that had their units messed up from workers here! Stay away!

Dishonest estimates. Will not be calling again.

I had Krooswyk come out to my house to check out an issue with my furnace not starting this winter. They sent out a younger guy first that found a problem with the wires and he was able to get the furnace going again. So in terms of what I originally called for, the service call was fine and prompt. However, after the furnace started the technician noticed that one of my heat exchanges was burning orange and not blue. I was told this could possibly be a bad heat exchange and could lead to CO2 poisoning (all which is true). He suggested I schedule a follow up estimate on what it would take to fix that problem. On the follow up, the owner Jason showed up and after looking at the burner the first thing he said was ""I can possibly take the orange out of the flame, but the exchange may be getting old and separating. Let me e-mail you some options"". He left within 5-10 minutes without even attempting to adjust anything and e-mailed me only 1 option of installing a brand new $3000 furnace! Needless to say I wanted a second opinion and after talking to another HVAC tech I found that all that needed to be done was to adjust the airflow going into the exchange, which on my furnace was a little lever. Within literally 1 minute of knowing this I was able to find the adjustment myself and fix the airflow and now both exchanges are burning nice and blue. I can not believe that instead of taking 1 minute to fix my problem he left only to try to take advantage and up-sell a $3000 furnace. I will not be calling them again. An easy 1 minute honest adjustment could have earned him a customer for life, but his dishonesty caught up to him this time.
