Company Overview

Kona Labs provides reliable electronic leak detection throughout Hawai`i. Our technicians locate leaks in irrigation, and trace water damage. Other services line location, usage audits, and infrastructure repairs for large pool and spa systems. We work with homeowners, office, and hospitality clients.

Kona Labs originated in 2008 when Dr. Richard A DeVerse aimed to serve the community by saving water. Our experience in leak detection taught us how water systems break, leading to our own products now available online.

Aloha, my name is Andrew DeVerse. I serve as COO and lead leak technician at Kona Labs Leak Detection. I have helped in my father's business since 2006, earned my B.S. in Physics, Math, and Chemistry in 2017, and came back to the Big Island in 2018 to manage Kona Labs. I am a partner and lead our leak detection team.

I hired Andrew from Kona Labs at a property i take care of. Andrew found the leak and also gave very good recommendations. Soon after his report i re hired him to do 3 more of my accounts. Andrew is very responsive and very knowledgeable in his field. I highly recommend Kona Labs for any leak detection in Hawaii island!

Really easy to install. It took me 2ish hours from start to finish (including installing the solenoid valve and the sensor), but most of that time was spent replacing cracked pipes from the existing pool equipment. I have had it running since June and haven't had to make any adjustments. I would highly recommend this product!

Purchased a Kona Labs LevelSmart Autofill for our pool as we travel and in our climate, water evaporates quickly. We received it within a few days. Installation was a breeze, after we had questions concerning the antenna in conduit, then going through our alum pool enclosure to mount the antenna tip inside the enclosure. Once that was set, the LevelSmart Sensor was installed then it paired and doing what it was supposed to do. I was surprised at the ease of pairing after we had another autolevel system several years ago that was a nightmare (don't think they are in business anymore).

I called several other companies before I called Kona Labs. Andrew was the only company to answer the phone. I described my problem and we settled on a day/time that he would come and access our issue. He arrived on time and got right to work. We're on 2 acres so we were worried about how long it would take to find the issue. He found the leak so fast that we could hardly believe it. I don't like being ripped off so when I find a company worth it's weight in gold, like Kona Labs, I become a loyal customer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew and his company. Plus they offer so many other services and products. Thank you Kona Labs, for saving me time and money!

Andrew was very responsive and thorough - I called two companies that do water leak detection on the same day and did get responses from both. The other company said he was off island and would call back Monday - still waiting and Andrew has solved our problem! Found the leak and now it's repaired - not an easy task on a six acre property! Thanks Andrew - hope we never need your services again, but if we do we know we can count on you!

have had pool level system installed for a month. working great so far. phone customer support is not immediate, but they will get back to you in 24 hours. Technical support is very good. I got a bad cable with my system (connector was slightly loose so signal was very weak). Once I ID'd problem, they promptly sent me a replacement.

So pleased with their service. Had a mystery leak which I assumed was the pool as it was loosing water. Turns out it was an irrigation leak and the pool water was draining to the irrigation system. Without Kona Labs, I might be replacing my pool instead of some leaky irrigation valves. Excellent service and honest, I highly recommend Kona Labs.

Service was fast and friendly. Found my leak right away. A little pricey but Worth the price. Would have took a lot of digging to find it on my own.

You will save a lot on water with this item, as it doesn't work! Junk junk junk! I find it hard to believe any of these reviews online are real. Against my pool builders recommendation, I installed this item. We've tried 100x to pair it, it's just not pairable. I moved the antenna less than 1 foot away, then 6"", etc. still won't pair. The main device goes into pairing mode (put magnet on for 45 seconds) and when it flashes I hold the magnet to the sensor for 35 seconds. Just won't pair. Just a paperweight! I'll post negative reviews all over the net to save others from purchasing this. You can go online and see a lot of variations of this device from the seller. Every video is worthless. One video will say put the magnet on for 15 seconds, another 45 seconds, etc. Just junk.

We had water coming out of our driveway and knew there was at least one leak somewhere in the 150' run from the service to the house... panic! Andrew was incredibly responsive and helpful. I spoke to him the evening we found the leak, and he said he would confirm if he was able to make it up to our home in Waikoloa in the morning. He was able to come out the next morning, identified and marked the leak and the perimeter of where the leak could be, and texted me pictures as soon as he was done. His bullseye was within 2-3"" of where the water had burst through the pipe - Incredibly accurate and well within the perimeter marked... under 6"" of concrete and 3' of dirt. Before you dig up your deck or driveway, or pay a plumber 1000's to hopefully figure it out - hire Andrew, find out where the leak is, and then deal with it.
