Tama J.So I own a house in Tacoma - I actually work for a plumbing company in Seattle but none of my guys were available to go to Tac when I had a plumbing emergency. I called Knockout and Zach came down on a Saturday - I was really impressed by how clean he made everything. I got a little scared when he had to actually pull my toilet off but he kept everything on the blanket tarp and put everything back and the price was extremely reasonable since I wasn't getting an employee discount.
Everyone thinks I should know what happens out in the field but I work in the office and don't often see what the guys do during the day so I was impressed with the whole process. If I couldn't use my own guys from work I would 100% call Knockout and ask for Zach.
Matt W.Be aware that they charge a $250 (plus tax) minimum. Had an air lock, couldn't get it sorted, so called them and closed water main while opening all the taps. Two hours later, when they got here, it worked as soon as we turned back on the water main.
Zach told me in advance if it was quick, he'd charge the minimum, so nothing shady...just not great customer service either (hence 3 stars and not 1). He quipped ""tax writeoff"" as he handed me the bill - I won't be a repeat customer.
Friendly, affordable, fast.
Within 24 hours of calling, a plumber fixed a leak in my toilet. While Zach was at my house, he also fixed a different toilet by making a few adjustments, preventing me from pursuing a costlier replacement option I was exploring with a different plumber.
Knockout plumbing was great! We had a flooded basement and weren't sure of the cause. Turned out to not be a plumbing issue. They helped us figure out, got us in touch with a water restoration company and didn't charge us for the visit. I will definitely refer them and call them again for any plumbing issues.
Talia N.This company was very accommodating when our old contractor abandoned our remodel project. Knockout plumbing assured us that they would be able to take care of us, and that's what they did. We are very pleased with their work and professionalism and would use them in the future.
Drocket B.Our main water line, a 100+ year old galvanized pipe got cracked when we had some guys out doing a retaining wall repair. It was really not in good shape. Zach came out within a couple of hours at the end of the day and gave us a fair estimate. Because we didn't have running water (and it's not like we can go stay with friends for the night amid a pandemic, especially since one of us is a healthcare provider), he made sure to do a temporary repair so we could have water running that night. We were super grateful. He then came back a couple of days later and did the permanent repair and so far, so good! We only lost water for a couple of hours that time and hey, now we're not drinking water from a gross old pipe.
Vivian T.I needed a plumber to help me install a new faucet and garbage disposal for my new sink. I dropped a few bids via Yelp and Knockout Plumbing was the first to respond and stop by.
A few things that made this review a 3 star.
Zach rattled off some really high numbers and then dropped it down to something that sounded a little more reasonable. This felt like a sales trap in a way where they'd say it's normally this but I'll give it to you for this. Since I was in need of getting it done anyway, we agreed on a price and he began work. He had to pick up his tools from downstairs and since I live in an apartment, I went down with him so I could let him back up easier. As soon as he walked out the front door, he yelled across to his helper in a truck, ""We got it, baby!"" This felt rather unprofessional especially since I was right there. His helper had to leave to grab a few tools he was missing.
After getting all of his tools, we went back upstairs and he drops a large office mat on my floor that was super dirty and made a dust cloud all around the kitchen area. Everything was smooth sailing at this point with the pipework until he had to install my faucet. He took my faucet out of the box and began untying it and as it finally loosens, the cords all fall into my sink. The new sink that was just installed is stainless steel so scratches a little easily. When he did this the first time, I let it slide, but he again does it a second time and I had to tell him to be more careful since it is basically metal scratching on metal. I was already nervous at this point of the sink already being scratched but let it go.
When his helper finally came back, they were being really unprofessional and chatting it up about things that probably shouldn't be mentioned around a customer. While applying some sort of black glue around my pipes, he accidentally dripped some on my cabinets but instead of taking my offer of using a wet napkin to clean it up, he uses his fingers and jokingly says, ""It's fine, the black will match with all the other marks already here."" Just because there's already marks there doesn't mean we need to add more unnecessary ones.
After they left, I inspected my sink and there were indeed scratches from when he dropped the faucet cords twice. Though he got the job done relatively quickly, the combination of the unprofessionalism and how rough he was with my things sort of seals the deal for me on not wanting to recommend them to anyone.
Mel B.I had the pleasure of working with Knockout Plumbing this morning. I had a referral to call the company and when I called, I immediately got Randi on the phone.
I work in the phone industry and its such a pleasure to speak to someone right away who has such a friendly voice and is extremely knowledgeable.
Based on my initial experience with Knockout and Randi, I highly recommend Knockout! Keep up the great customer service!
Peter G.So here's why Zach get's 5 stars. I call some other ""reputable company."" Heck, they had a fancy web site, an Angies' List best-of-year in 2017 or something, and they had a snazzy book with all prices laid out nice and neat (a book which of course wasn't provided on their web site and could be one of many different ""tiers"" of books that have prices for various situations). They need $65 + tax for a truck roll. No problem, that's typical. Well they come out and quote a price for extending a gas pipe less than 10 feet. According to the book, they get $129/foot. Plus some random number crunching and I'm looking at $2,000. 10 feet = $2,000. They get their $72.50 and I send them home. I call Zach. He happens to be in the neighborhood. He quotes me a rough estimate via text at 1/2 the price. He doesn't charge a truck roll. He looks at the project in person and says no problem. I'll have it done tomorrow (Saturday) morning. So guess what? Zach comes out early, does the job, does incredible tight and clean work, and heads out. He leaves some extra parts that he knew I needed along with some pipe dope so I can make the connection to my new grill's quick-connect. Zach gets paid, I get the job done, and plumber number one can suck it and keep his $70.50 or whatever. Don't waste your damn time hiring anyone else. You'll pay a truck roll fee and get quoted such a high price that there's no way to accept it and they know it, so they keep the dough. But if you're sucker enough to take their massive bid then they are damn happy to take your money. Screw that. Hire Zach.
I needed to replace old water heater with the new one that I already provided. I placed request on homeadvisor.com and I got the calls from different companies. Knockout Plumbing was the first one to call and offer a good service at reasonable price. They provided an estimate cost over the phone without coming to my place. On Monday morning my old water heater was replaced with the new one by Grant. He came on time and did a wonderful job with the installation. I'm very happy with results and would recommend him to anyone having water heater problems. I had a very positive experience working with Knockout Plumbing. Awesome customer service and quality job.
