Kinzie Generators

I would strongly recommend that Kinzie NOT be used for either generator installation or service. I have an Onan Cummins generator and called Kinzie for a routine service call (oil and oil filter change and checking the valve lash).

The service technician arrived and seemed pleasant and performed the oil change and seemed to know what he was doing when checking the valve lash. However, he was unable to give me an estimate for the service call.

When the next generator exercise cycle began the generator ran only two minutes and stopped. I informed Kinzie of this problem and they referred me to the factory for service. The factory technician arrived, quickly diagnosed the problem and discovered that it was caused by improper work by the Kinzie technician who had used the wrong tools. The factory technician also refused to charge me for the repair (which took several hours) and instead billed Kinzie since it was determined to be caused by their technician. Kinzie paid the bill and the following week sent me, not a letter of apology as I had hoped, but a letter stating that they no longer wished to continue our ""service relationship"" since I wanted to ""service the generator myself."" This was clearly incorrect. In fact, Kinzie was embarrassed that they caused the problem so they no longer wanted to be reminded of that fact.

Bottom line, do not use Kinzie.
