I called them to come look at a problem with my gas log. The guy was here maybe 20 minutes to tell me he would not work on the problem and that I needed to buy a whole new set up. Then I was charged 88 dollars for repairing nothing.

Called to have a broken drain replaced in the bath tub the plumber (not really) spent less than 5 min. on it and said he could get it out. He said he could cut a hole in the wall and re work to entire drain for $1500.00 or more. I declined and was charged almost $150.00 for nothing, I went to home depot and bought a removal tool for $19.99 and had it out and replaced in 10 Min. I would think if the person that came to my home telling me he has been doing this for over 10 years he would have the tools needed. Of course I'm not sure if he was talking about being a plumber or ripping off the customer. Either way this is the first and last time I call them.

Update: Our A/C has been working like a charm since King's was last here. I believe they're reputable and trustworthy.

I called at 9 am in the morning because my heat was blowing cold air. I was told by a man who answered the phone I would be put on the list as a priority since I had no heat. At 3:30pm I called to see if the service tech was still coming and the man then said ""I never told you we were coming today!"" He then went on to tell me if I wanted someone to come today I would have to pay the after hours fees of $117.00/hour. I then said well since it's going to get down to the 30's tonight I really need someone to look at my furnace today if possible. He said ""okay"" ... nothing else and just hung up. You would think if they are being paid $117.00 an hour, they could afford to pay someone to be nicer! That's the second time I have had to deal with their VERY RUDE man on the phone. The service man came at about 4:15 pm, was very nice and got the job done in less than an hour...but of course charged me for the full hour.

I simply can't recommend them. My father employed them occasionally for his contracting business (when no one else was available). There was not a single time when they didn't create unnecessary problems. They have a reputation in Kokomo for not being on time, overcharging, and being generally rude. The one and only time I used them was no different. The ""gentleman"" who came to diagnose a problem could be heard swearing all through the house. He made it very clear he didn't want to be on the job that day. This made my elderly mother very uncomfortable, to the point where she asked me to use another service for actual repairs. We did so, and were surprised that repair costs were nearly half what they were at King's. In addition, King's took four days to respond to an emergency call. There are far better, cheaper, more professional HVAC repair companies in town.

My mother-in-law called to schedule an appointment to get her a/c looked at. I went to Ivy Tech for refrigeration but I don't have the proper equipment to do the job. I gave her a few ideas as to what might be wrong. My mother-in-law tried to pass my ideas on to the person scheduling the appointment. She was told that if I knew so much about it she should have me bring my pump to fix it. Just to let you know King's there are several heating/cooling service places in Kokomo. Candlelight, Summers, Brandt's, etc. My mother-in-law WILL be cancelling her appointment today. I am sure that one of the other places would be more than happy to have my business

Purchased a new furnace from Kings Heating and Plumbing and in less than six months the heat pump would only run on Auxiliary heat and it was a bad circuit board. They replaced the board at no charge.

Less than two years later, the same problem is happening again. I called and left a ,message with the owner with no results. Our electric bill is higher now than when we had a 20 year old furnace and we will have to call someone that will bother to call us back. If a business does not even call you back, there is no reason to use them period.
