I have use Thu for a lot of plumbing work over the last 7 years and his work is impeccable. He always responds timely and takes pride in his work. He has done work in my condo which leaked into my Neil unit and he repaired their unit as well. Toilet and water heater in my duplex as well as dishwasher and garbage disposal at my home. This is the only plumber you'll ever need. Danny is honest, hard working and will not rip you off like Big Blue or other outfits. The cost for Danny to do the work vs. Big Blue?
Big Blue wanted to charge $12,500 and charged for the initial visit. Their bid broke down at $800 an hour for labor. $450 for a pipe stem under the kitchen sink? These cost $35.00 at Home Depot.
I get mark up, but please.

Danny from King King did it for $2,700 and did not charge for the initial visit. Great guy.
I just had him back for another visit today. We have an old house with multiple issues.
Just $100.

Big Blue or Rotorooter would have 3 times as much.
Go with the little guys.

Now this is what I mean by excellent service! I called to ask for an estimate to fix a leaking main pipe in my front yard.I received a call back within one day. Thu set up a time to come out on a SATURDAY and when he was running late due to another job running over, he called ahead and let me know exactly what time he would be here and he stuck to it! He gave me a very fair price. The pipe is fixed and I feel confident it won't leak for many many years if ever (copper vs PVC--worth every penny!) Thu was honest, friendly, kind and highly professional. He cleaned up every last speck of dirt and left my yard immaculate. You will not find a better plumber. I highly recommend him!

I called Thu as a referral because our 7-year old water heater failed specifically the thermocoupler. This model was notorious for having that failed (Rheem-brand) so I opted to upgrade and upped it from 40 to 50 gallon.

Wed:
Call him to state the situation:
- Would like to replace the water heater
- Would like to get the energy efficiency one available in-stock at Lowe's
- Will order it myself but need him to pick it up.

- He confirmed Saturday at 8:00 am would be OK but he would charge me additional $50 for delivery and I would have to be there. I live in San Leandro, Lowe's is Union City, and he is in Hayward. Fair enough. We agreed I would call him on Friday just to double-check everything is ok (e.g. item is ready to be picked-up, etc.,)


Friday:
- Called him multiple times to confirm we are good to go.
- He calls back around 7:00 pm apologizing he heard the phone but was busy in the attic the whole day? But he confirmed so I guess fair enough.

Saturday--:
Went to Lowe's at 8:00am.
Called him to asked him where he is at. After a few attempts, he called me back and said he texted me that he couldn't make it. He left his tools in San Jose. He didn't text me but my mom at 7:55 am!

- So here is the kicker, he said either I get someone else or I can wait until 5:00 pm to get it done. I guess he took me as an idiot that it takes 8 hours to the long drive to San Jose to get his tools OR he prioritize a job over me and was going to work on mines after.

- And here is another kicker just for ""kicks,"" to do permitting, he said he would charge additional $150+permit fees because he has to be there for the inspection! I was getting quotes for $200 for them to handle the permits.

Well, you know what I decided.

King Kong is like the real King Kong but instead of destroying buildings, he destroys your schedule and weekends too.

Would like recommend unless you wasting your weekend away.

I have worked with Thu before on a couple of the properties that I own to do some plumbing work. I've experienced better customer service from other plumbers that I work with on a constant basis. During the two month period that I hired him, he shows up late by a SIGNIFICANT amount of time. He's scheduled at 10:30 a.m, but shows up at 1:30 p.m. and gets angry that no one is at the work site to open the door for him. Obviously not! You're 3 hours late. His rates are also ridiculously overpriced when he thinks you're ignorant about the typical prices for a job. He threw out rates that were a good $200-$300 dollars higher than what other TRUSTED plumbers quoted me. Be careful of him, he'll try his best to take as much money as he can from you. If you're looking to be taken advantage and you want to pay thousands of dollars to a rude, lazy, unprofessional worker, please be my guest! There are better workers out there who are cheaper and vastly more professional than him BY FAR.
