proficient plumbing - but pay a premium.
Tub drain replacement should have been 200-300$, bill was $650. good grief.
Found NAZ plumbing at the hardware store, local family owned in Bridgeview (872) 800-7943 for balance of work, at an affordable price.

I had called Szabo Plumbing to repair a leaky toilet wax ring on a tenants apartment and was quoted $275, which I considered fair, considering a licensed plumber and fully stocked truck would have to drive there and do the repair. What I didn't consider fair was when the shut off valve didn't work, they charged me an additional $200 to put a new one on. Now I understand if I called them out for just that repair, $200 may be reasonable, but they were already on site for the other repair.
Not to mention they never contacted for any additional approval prior to replacing it, just a text message from the plumber onsite stating the new total would be $475.
I contacted Wade, to discuss the upcharge and was told I actually recieved a discount as they normally charge $250.00 per valve, but he would talk to Kevin himself and see if anything could be done.
As I was away on vacation, I told him I would contact him in A week when we returned.....well, called him twice since returning, NO CALL BACKS.
I decided to check my Credit card, and now see, they not only charged me the $475, plus an additional $14.75, not sure for what reason, as I never received an itemized invoice e-mailed as promised.
I've always considered them fair in past work they had done for me, but as of now, have lost confidence in Szabo Plumbing and will no longer use them, nor recemmend them to friends and family

UPDATE: Upon Kevin being made aware of this situation , he personnally reached out to me, apologized for the error, and made things right. I will continue to recemmend them and use them as a first choice for my future plumbing needs.
It just shows he is truely compassionate about customer satisfaction, THANK YOU AGAIN KEVIN FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS

I called Szabo plumbing for a clog in my master bath. 2 plumbers came out and in fixing the clog released water into my foyer. They cut a hole in my ceiling and left me with it. I spoke with many people at Szabo plumbing including Kevin, who promised a repair. A drywaller called twice and didn't show up both times. Calling Szabo again didn't get any results, so I was left to hire someone to repair my ceiling.

Six stars are not available, so I need settle for 5. Simply superlative service! My technician Ed was on time, friendly and more on point, knew exactly what the problems were. He diagnosed things in a matter of a few minutes, proposed an effective course of action and then implemented it seemingly effortlessly. A Job very well-done...and very much appreciated. i have used Szabo a couple times in the past. i think they are a first class outfit. having said that, around the first of December i called to have a humidifier replaced on my furnace this was a direct replacement. same as what was on there. i sent tech pix of unit as requested. i was quoted $800.00 to do job i declined. i decided to do it myself how hard could it be? direct replacement. well it took me about one hour .i got a new in the box on EBAY for $175 with shipping $225.00.i think this is way out of line. close to $400.00 an hour. any way you look at it.i post this not out of meanes but to warn cust.

Kennedy Plumbing was even worse. Danny replaced two toilets. He assumed that because I am elderly and disabled, I would not notice that he switched the fifty dollar seats that came with the toilets with $15 seats that don't even fit. What is it about plumbers that they want to rip off the disabled and why did Szabo and Kennedy both think I was so stupid? Not that it matters, but I'm a college professor with a PhD from Notre Dame. I am appalled thinking how often these rip-off artists must succeed.

Flawless work!
I needed a kitchen sink, dishwasher, and fridge all hooked up as well as some old waterlines replaced. Joe and Lucas came out and did a great job. Everything was left clean, no leaking, no mess, and a fair price for a perfect job. These guys are professional, on time, communicative, and handled everything above and beyond expectations. Most importantly: The wife was happy to see everything finished up. Great job on the whole install. Five stars all around. Having dealt with garbage plumbers in the past who only care about the money and getting out, definitely call SZABO when you need any plumbing handled. Honesty, knowledge, and professionalism go a long way and it shows in the level of work from start to finish.
