Plumbing sucks. If you can find a good plumber like Kent dont lose track. I have been through 2-3 individuals since buying this house. Sometimes they only want to do certain things and seem to half ass or over charge for the others. I have never felt this way about Kent. I give him a list and he takes care of it. He even takes care to make things a little better than I may have asked. Prices have been great. He is a super nice guy and just comes and does the work requested. Cant ask for much better than that. Hes done 3 faucets, one was a mess and needed some serious removal, some bib work, removed and RO machine, and other misc for us so far.

I had a toilet that wouldn't stop flushing, and I knew my water bill would be astronomical if I didn't get it taken care of quickly. I checked my neighborhood Nextdoor website, and Kent Mortensen came highly recommended. I called him at about 8:20 Monday morning and he offered to come at noon, but I couldn't get off work that early so we set an appointment for a few hours later. He finished the job in a little over a half hour, and that included taking the whole toilet apart so he could do whatever he did to all the things inside there - sorry, I'm not conversant in plumbing lingo. His price was fair, and I'll definitely use him again.

Over the past 20+ years, Kent Mortensen has done everything from unclogging our drains to replacing all outbound plumbing from our basement to the city waste-water connection. He won't sell you something you don't need, and won't charge for more time than he worked!

I would not recommend or use him again. While he was prompt and got us in right away, I am not happy with his seemingly uncaring attitude.

I needed a bathroom faucet to be replaced as it was leaking. I had already purchased a new faucet and while he replaced it, the drain did not fit properly. He offered to leave the old one in. So I paid $150 for a new faucet with a mismatched drain. The fact that the drain did not fit was totally not his fault. But I was surprised how little he cared that I was paying $150 and left with an incomplete, mismatched sink. He also didn't offer to come back-- and I believe most business owners who truly take pride in their work would have done so, offered to come back for at least a reduced rate - or at the very very least expressed some form of empathy about the fact that it didn't fit and was now mismatched. He did none of the above.

When I called back to see if he could install a matching drain I had found he was going to charge me another $150 to come out! When I fussed and said, ""Really?!"" he finally he said he would come and pay ""Whatever I felt was fair"" - so I offered to pay $50. When he arrived, he put the drain in. But right before leaving, I checked his work and it wasn't draining the water properly and it was now also making a gurgling noise in the pipes. If I hadn't caught it or said anything he most definitely would have left without saying a word about that -- and I can't imagine he didn't notice. I asked him why he thought it was now doing that with the new drain and he just stared at me and shrugged. I followed up and asked what he thought I should do, or what he would do if he was in my position and he just didn't seem to have an answer. His only response was that he could put the old mismatched drain back in. Even though this new drain looked better and matched the faucet, since it was causing a backup in the basin and gurgling in the pipes I finally decided to put the old one back in. Once again, he offered no sense of empathy, seemed completely unfazed, and promptly collected his $50 to leave the sink the way it had been when he arrived.

So, 2 appointments and $200 later here I am left with a sink that no longer leaks but a drain and faucet that do not match. End of the world? No. But aesthetically, I would hope to be 100% satisfied. Again, the fact that the parts didn't fit/operate correctly was not at all his fault. But his lackadaisical attitude, unwillingness to help problem solve, and overall lack of care left me feeling yucky and unsatisfied.

I most definitely won't use him again and I would not recommend him.

I am so happy with my service by Kent. I called at 2pm on Tuesday and he was at my house within an hour. He arrived, fixed my issue, and was out the door within 20 minutes. He was very polite, kind, and honest. I had a contractor at my house at the same time, and the contractor asked for Kent's information because he was impressed. Great work!!

In each instance, I was able to schedule an appointment with Kent on short notice and he came out and performed the job very thoroughly and for a reasonable price. Kent is a terrific plumber. Whenever anyone in the Broadmor neighborhood of Tempe needs a plumber, his name is always at the top of the list. I can do simple things like hook up a faucet or sink drain, but whenever we need something complex done - like hook up a dishwasher during our kitchen remodel or replace our aging gas water heater - he is the guy we call. Always prompt, always professional, and his prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!
