I called about a backed up shower drain and the dispatcher told me that Main lines cost $200 and any floor drain costs $80 (Instead of the correct verbiage of main line is $200 and each additional floor drain is $80, if you only want a floor drain cleared it is $165). The technician that they sent out said that they cannot clear the drain in the shower because of the age of the house and not having exposed piping, fair enough, but maybe this should have been discussed over the phone by the dispatcher before they waste everyone's time.
Next, the technician says he cannot clear the main line because of the same issue, no exposed piping. Except the main line is readily apparent in the basement and anyone with any sense would be able to find it immediately. So they say that they can only clear the kitchen sink drain as a preventative measure. I think to myself, well he is already at the house might as well give the company some business and not waste the entire experience, as well as the fact that they said it would be only $80. No mention of a price tag of $165 was ever mentioned. Poor business practices.
So i bite the bullet and call another person to fix my actual problem of the backed up shower drain. The new plumber, Pablo with Right Away Sewer and Drain was a rock star and came out super fast and fixed my issue. Pablo was confused however why Ken's Sewer Drain and Plumbing was unable or unwilling to clear my main line because it should not be an issue at all. So I call Ken's and talk to the owner Dan to make sure I wasn't going to be charged more than the $80 i was quoted and he told me, well it is $165 to clear a floor drain if you don't couple it with clearing the main line. So they tell me that they cannot clear my main line and then try to charge me more than they quoted because they were unable or unwilling to clear the main line, which I wanted them to do.
With all of the incapable employees working there no wonder Dan told me that they have been sued before for breaking people's pipes.
I have yet to receive a reason for why the initial technician was not able or willing to clear my main line, something that should be a very straightforward fix. I will be taking my business back to Pablo from now on and I would suggest that you should do the same.
The final dispatcher I talked to called me a p.r.i.c.k. too.
Had them come out to clear our floor drain in the basement (sure, okay, that got fixed as far as I know), but next thing we know the faucet over the wash basin is running/dripping while the handles are all the way off. I didn't manage to catch that before the repair person left and they won't take responsibility for the error and want to charge me $200 or more for the repair even though it definitely wasn't an issue before the person they sent out messed with the faucet! Certainly won't be calling for their services again.
I called Ken's Sewer to do my annual main drain cleaning. This was done as a preventative measure. And I assumed the drain was clean since they didn't pull out any roots, but about 1 week later the sewer started to back up. I called them and they came and got it cleared up and draining again. They wouldn't guarantee their work unless I paid for extra camera footage.
I then called the people I usually have my drain cleaning done. They told me there's nothing wrong with my sewer line and to just do annual maintenance as usual.
They also pulled out a bunch of roots. This means that Ken's Sewer did NOT clean out my line like I hired them to do.
Cory B.We had an emergency kitchen faucet fix, Neal came within 1 hour of my call, wearing a mask, and was done quickly, charging less than I would have thought for such quick service.
We'll be calling them for all of our plumbing needs.
Overpriced for a simple kitchen sink replacement that took minimal labor & time: $340! Had I known it was so simple I would have done it myself. Lesson learned! Make sure you get the full price before letting them proceed so you are not similarly taken advantage of like I was. There was also few others that could make it in a day or two and though I said it was not an emergency of a same-day nature, they charged me as if it was. The repairman was pleasant enough, but being evasive with the overall cost until after the work is underway earns them a 1 star rating. Still, probably less predatory than Hero - f/k/a Uptown Pluming Heating & Cooling, who are the gold standard for predatory practices and high-pressure selling and astronomical mark ups.
I needed a quick question answered and without hesitation, they efficiently answered exactly what I needed to know. They were very kind and helpful!!! THANK YOU!!!
Called Ken's when we found a spraying leak on our main water line where it meets the city's water meter. He got someone out quickly and also contacted the city about getting the special replacement part that was needed. From beginning-to-end, it was a very enjoyable experience and I really got the feeling that they went the extra mile. Also, the final repair cost was less than some of the bigger plumbing companies wanted just to come out and look at the problem. Highly recommended!
Adam B.Called yesterday at 6:00pm due to a clogged kitchen drain that I couldn't unclog. They were able to get a tech over by 8:00pm. 30 minutes later and everything is working perfectly! Such a quick response and perfect work. Ken's was a lifesaver!
Called them to look at my leaking toilet. Guy comes and gives me 3 estimates; $300ish, $400ish, $1000ish. I wasn't home and was talking to him on the phone. He tells me he won't know until he takes the toilet bowl off. I tried to tell him I like a more definite estimate before I agreed to the work. He hanged up on me before I completed my sentence. I got home and my nephew tells me, the guy was there for about 5-10 minutes. I had to paid $75 for the ""estimate"". I eventually got the job done for $210 from a handy man service, Let's fix it.
Amazing company and service! My kitchen sink clogged last night, and I used their online appointment scheduler, which was extremely easy to use. After submitting a request around 10 last night, I had an appointment for this morning at 9:30. They were extremely professional (during this difficult time) and very efficient. Within 20 minutes, water was draining again! I highly recommend!!
