Ken did a job for us repairing our dock on Lake Hickory. He gave us an accurate quote and finished the job as committed (on time). His work was of excellent quality and the price was very fair as well.

Weather delayed us a bit but he kept in touch re/scheduling and completed the job in a timely manner.

We have already engaged him for another job at another of our houses and will use him for any jobs we have going forward!

i lost 5 weeks as he said he would do the job but then delayed for 2 weeks. ok things happen. Set a new date to start that came and went with no notice or communication. 3 days after i finally contacted him and he said he was sorry but would not be able do my job. Should not be working in this industry if you ask me. BEware!

Ken was asked to install a 12x16 shed on my property. He introduced himself as fully bonded, insured and having years experience with assembling storage sheds, and also he indicated he has full staff of employees to get the job done in a timely manner. He estimated my building would be assembled in 3-4 business days.He arrived the first day and asked for one half payment upfront. He had not struck the first nail AND showed up with no employees, only his wife, two dogs and small grandson (maybe age 10). I refused to pay half up front. Thank the lord. He erected the building in 7 days with most days not arriving until nearly 12 noon, with only a few family members and worked at most 4-5 hours a day. Finally, at the point of putting the roof on the building, he only placed part of the roof and left the other side open stating""he was leaving it open for ventilation"". He promised he would return to put on the metal roof to finish the job and install dormer trim pieces and other finish pieces that couldn't be installed until after he put the roof on. This was on July 6th. It is now August 14th. He will text you and make excuses including its raining, or someone is not able to help him, or a family emergency and back to its raining. Eventually, after 5 weeks, I began to call and did not receive a call back. He would only reply with a text saying, ""I guarantee your roof will be on by a particular date"" to learn yet again another week with no roof. Yesterday, I called and left a message. I texted, too. He did call me back and offered another guarantee the roof would be installed by August 17th or 18th. Last night, we received a text that he had another emergency and we would need to find someone else to finish the job. Unfortunately, we had already paid him three installments for a building he has not finished and buttoned down. No roof, no anchors and no trim finishing, caulking or final installation of our building. Please do not fall for his introduction of being fully staffed, bonded and insured. He is not going to finish what he starts, although he will ask for money each and every time he shows up to work for you. NO matter how small or large your project, it is not worth the pain of working with this mans scamming operation. He is not honest and only will give you empty promises to get the job and then disappear.

Wait, read most of these reviews an questions yourself if you really want to deal with such a lying cheat. He sells himself as a licensed, bonded and insured company. Don't waste your time or money. The guy is nothing more than a scam artist, an unprofessional, lazy con artists, who does pretty lousy work not detailed in any way. Always has an excuse for not showing up for work even with an appointment Doesn't even have the courtesy to phone and explain or notify. basically your just blown off as you have no importance to him. He will eventually show up to provide an estimate and it seemed pretty honest, but boy was I wrong. The cut a hole in the door to install a doggy door, and the result was it was all uneven, not even a caulking was applied to covered the holes, He asked for a $500 down as half of the total for all the work including materials. The 3 steps he built in the back look horrible another disappointing job, began with excuses for not being able to show up. Always a lie, until he disrespected me in a manner it will not get into and therefore letting me know on a text he would not be returning. in short this dirt bag stole my money. My most honest recommendation I can give you is do not hire this man for anything. in a home or in a business!

Ive used Ken several times and he always does a great job! I'm in the process of remodeling four of my apartments and Ken will be my guy doing all of the remodeling work. He is reliable, and reasonable with his prices. I would highly recommend Ken for your next job.

Ken was asked to take a look at my leaky toilet. Which I knew by looking at it, that it was the wax ring was just old and had gone bad. Ken talked me into replacing it. Ok...no problem. He replaced it and now the new toilet is constantly running and will not shut off on it's own....the day after he replaced it, I contacted him and asked him to please come back and fix it for me...he did not show up when he was supposed to and finally stopped responding to any of my phone calls or texts. 2nd thing is...I had paid him to replace the outlets and electrical switches in the living room and the master bedroom.. he switched out a couple in each room and said that he wasn't able to do the other ones because of a problem with a switch being wired wrong...??? So I had a nice variety of white and black outlets and switches in both rooms...not acceptable. Luckily my brother came in town and is an electrical engineer and was able to help me fix all of the electrical stuff that he has messed up...or I would have been in a mess as it is my rental property...and I can't have it looking like that...my brother fixed each outlet and the light switches in a total of about 2 hours for both rooms and that was because he was teaching me how to wire them up and I seen for my own eyes that Ken was so lazy that he didn't want to inconvenience himself with having to move some small pieces of paneling to remove the old outlets and light switches....so sad. I was so embarrassed that my bother seen what a sloppy job that I had paid someone to do... If a handyman that does electrical work doesn't know how to do a 3 way switch...that is truly sad...this one was so simple. After I seen how easy it was...i was so disappointed that he had acted like that about it. If I could give this guy a zero star...I would have. Please do not waste ur money with this company....

Ken scammed me. He did substandard work. He agreed to come back and correct it and then did not show up on the agreed upon day. He then did not answer calls, texts and emails.

I found him through Thumbtack and he deactivated his account on that site rather than correcting the issue. Thumbtack tried to reach him and he did not respond to them either.

I used Ken's Home Improvement to get my chest of drawers fixed. I thought it was beyond repair, but Ken fixed it right up fast, and now it looks brand new. I can highly recommend this company. Wonderful and friendly service. You won't go wrong with Ken.
