If I could give a zero rating, I would. I was charged $90 just for them to come to my house regarding leaking hot water tank. They said I needed a new one and the estimate for it totaled $5844 (in addition to the $90 which they said would not be applied to that cost). I had also asked them how much it would be to add a shut off valve to my plumbing. Their estimate for that was $399!!! I am a woman, but I am not stupid. I have several rental properties; and I know what it should cost for these things. I told them their prices were obscene and called another company who is installing the same size, same brand high quality tank for $2339. The $90 was down the drain, pardon the pun. I guess I'll chalk it up to learning a lesson to never call these people again. I wish I had read the huge number of one star reviews and complaints about these rip offs. I would not have called them, wasted $90 for nothing, and wasted my time which I could have used to actually make arrangements to fix the problem for an acceptable price. How the owner stays in business, I'll never understand. No one with an ounce of sense would pay these inflated prices.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER OR SOLVING THE PROBLEM.
An obviously junior worker came to work on the chlorine treatment system for our well. A courteous young man, he worked at the problem for awhile then was on the phone with his boss to figure out what to do. (He told me his boss works on more complicated systems such as mine). He did figure it out eventually with his boss talking him through the whole process, but it took time, with a few phone calls, and resulted in a 2-hour service charge instead of what should have been less than 1 hour. The problem was a clogged flow switch which he partially disassembled and removed the blockage. The charge was $466.
The following day the flow switch stopped working again. When I called the company to speak with the boss I was told that he was out of town but would call me when he got back.
I never got a return call, so tried again the next week. Had to leave another message, but this time the call was returned a few days later by the owner. I explained the issue and he told me that the system I have is not good and there is a better system available (costing about $4,000, by the way). I told him our system was less than 5 years old and he shrugged me off, basically refusing to return to fix or replace the flow switch. And no mention of a refund for not having solved the problem.
I eventually found a plumber who knows about well water treatment systems, and he was able to fix the problem promptly by simply replacing the flow switch.
Kennihan's motto is ""We treat your home like it's our Grandma's home!"" I feel very sorry for their Grandma!

Total crooks. Came into my house and told me my carbon monoxide levels were high enough to kill me. Told me I needed 10,000 dollars worth of repair. But then they were able to ""fix"" it temporarily until they could install the new equipment. The technician got highly agitated when I called a friend of mine on the phone and he started to ask questions. That raise my suspicion so this morning I had someone that I totally trust come to my house and they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my system. I called the owner who denied the whole thing and said that they saved my life. I told him I wanted my money back and he told me not in 1 million years. That shows you the heart of the Kanahan company

Our boiler stopped working yesterday. I called around this morning to find somebody who could come out and look at my system. Kennihan's was not the first that answered, but they were the first to be able to get a tech to me. LeAnn is my new favorite customer service rep! The tech arrived at my house less than an hour after I called and it wasn't billed an emergency visit! Dave was the tech to troubleshoot my situation and he had me back up and running in no time. The communication was outstanding and their service fee was completely reasonable. I recommend this company for sure!

Our toilet was leaking a bit and we had water in our basement. They charged $950 to reset the toilet with parts that cost less than $10 and didn't even fix the leak in the basement. It took 2 hours, that's $475/hour for labor. I do not recommend them for any project.

I have been a customer for a few years and cannot be happier with the service. I never ever feel like I have been ripped off or talked down to as mentioned in another comment. Technicians are fast, efficient and extremely polite.
Highly recommend this company, honesty is key and there are way too many dishonest rip off artists out there!

David's service was good, and he was done quickly. He wore a mask without my having to ask him to. the reason I gave a 4/5 stars was because of the price. They aren't cheap, but the workmanship looks pretty good.

I can't comment on their work because they cancelled my appointment for an estimate 4 hours before the scheduled time. I understand things happen and was ok with that. The owner asked me to text pictures of the job and additional information, which I took the time to do, and he'd get back to me with an estimate. After not hearing back from him for 3 days, I texted him for an update, which was ignored. There are a million plumbers; service is everything. Do not recommend.

I had a toilet flood a bathroom. So I called Kennihan Plumbing & Heating. This was worse company I ever dealt with. They showed up the next morning, after evaluation determined that the leak was because the parts in the tank were bad. I said I'd that is the case let's do all 3 bathrooms so I will not have another issue. The tech said he had to check to see if he had enough parts. He comes back from the truck and said his manager said it would be 275$ per toilet. This shocked me since the part is only 14$ and takes all of 15 minutes to install. This company is gouging people. So basically the part cost 14$ and they are charging 231$ for 15 minutes of work. Stay away from this company.

I see plenty of bad reviews; many of them being pretty old. I can honestly say my experience, about a week ago, was great. Our water heater broke, was leaking, and the shutoff valve didn't work. So we were looking for quick service, and Kennihan's delivered.
I called before the start of normal business hours (probably 7am or so). Whomever fields calls off-hours took my information and promised someone would call me back to discuss service in 15-20 minutes. Sure enough in less than 15 minutes I received a call (I believe from the owner) and was informed service would be scheduled as soon as their service desk folks arrived at 8am to see what techs were available and when.
Again, I received a call promptly around 8am, discussed my situation, provided the necessary details to get an over-the-phone estimate, and scheduled a service call for that same day.
When the tech arrived around 3.5 hours later, he had the old water heater removed, and the new water heater installed in about 4 hours.
With all the complaints I saw others post about being ""ripped off,"" I didn't find that to be true. They installed a quality Rheem gas water heater (not one you can buy at Home Depot), a new shutoff valve for the water and gas, and disposed of the old water heater, and some other bulky parts from an old air filter unit (that had nothing to do with the service call).
Conversely, my parents used a different HVAC company, and paid a comparable price for a new water heater installation but didn't have same day service, didn't have one that needed replaced/disposed of, and purchased a different brand of water heater. The total difference in price was $300. All-in-all I felt it what we paid was reasonable.
By all means, comparison shop, but I'll be calling these guys the next time I have an HVAC problem.
