Our toilet was leaking a bit and we had water in our basement. They charged $950 to reset the toilet with parts that cost less than $10 and didn't even fix the leak in the basement. It took 2 hours, that's $475/hour for labor. I do not recommend them for any project.

I have been a customer for a few years and cannot be happier with the service. I never ever feel like I have been ripped off or talked down to as mentioned in another comment. Technicians are fast, efficient and extremely polite.
Highly recommend this company, honesty is key and there are way too many dishonest rip off artists out there!

David's service was good, and he was done quickly. He wore a mask without my having to ask him to. the reason I gave a 4/5 stars was because of the price. They aren't cheap, but the workmanship looks pretty good.

I can't comment on their work because they cancelled my appointment for an estimate 4 hours before the scheduled time. I understand things happen and was ok with that. The owner asked me to text pictures of the job and additional information, which I took the time to do, and he'd get back to me with an estimate. After not hearing back from him for 3 days, I texted him for an update, which was ignored. There are a million plumbers; service is everything. Do not recommend.

I had a toilet flood a bathroom. So I called Kennihan Plumbing & Heating. This was worse company I ever dealt with. They showed up the next morning, after evaluation determined that the leak was because the parts in the tank were bad. I said I'd that is the case let's do all 3 bathrooms so I will not have another issue. The tech said he had to check to see if he had enough parts. He comes back from the truck and said his manager said it would be 275$ per toilet. This shocked me since the part is only 14$ and takes all of 15 minutes to install. This company is gouging people. So basically the part cost 14$ and they are charging 231$ for 15 minutes of work. Stay away from this company.

I see plenty of bad reviews; many of them being pretty old. I can honestly say my experience, about a week ago, was great. Our water heater broke, was leaking, and the shutoff valve didn't work. So we were looking for quick service, and Kennihan's delivered.
I called before the start of normal business hours (probably 7am or so). Whomever fields calls off-hours took my information and promised someone would call me back to discuss service in 15-20 minutes. Sure enough in less than 15 minutes I received a call (I believe from the owner) and was informed service would be scheduled as soon as their service desk folks arrived at 8am to see what techs were available and when.
Again, I received a call promptly around 8am, discussed my situation, provided the necessary details to get an over-the-phone estimate, and scheduled a service call for that same day.
When the tech arrived around 3.5 hours later, he had the old water heater removed, and the new water heater installed in about 4 hours.
With all the complaints I saw others post about being ""ripped off,"" I didn't find that to be true. They installed a quality Rheem gas water heater (not one you can buy at Home Depot), a new shutoff valve for the water and gas, and disposed of the old water heater, and some other bulky parts from an old air filter unit (that had nothing to do with the service call).
Conversely, my parents used a different HVAC company, and paid a comparable price for a new water heater installation but didn't have same day service, didn't have one that needed replaced/disposed of, and purchased a different brand of water heater. The total difference in price was $300. All-in-all I felt it what we paid was reasonable.
By all means, comparison shop, but I'll be calling these guys the next time I have an HVAC problem.

The guys were great that came out to service my furnace.

However, not more than an hour after they left, the furnace stopped working.

I called, the owner called back. He spoke in a belittling manner to me. He said, ""Are you sure it was Kenninhan's? What were the guys names, what did they say was wrong with it? How do YOU know that the furnace isn't working?""

He was more than rude, he has ZERO INTEGRITY!!!

The temperatures were dropping in to the low 30's .

He said to me repeatedly, ""What do you want me to do?""
I said, ""What I want you to do is honor the $324 I just paid you to repair my furnace, and send someone to fix it.""
He said, ""There will be additional charges.""

He went on to diagnose the problem and why the furnace isn't working, without any intention of speaking to the guys that serviced it, and were actually here.

If that were the case, why didn't the servicemen tell me that before working on it?

This is only my 2nd Yelp review. I don't complain much, but this guy should not be a small business owner!
I have never been more disgusted with service by a locally owned business!!

I reccomend anyone BUT KENNIHAN'S!!!

I'll be seeing him in court!

Last year; (2018) I had brand new a coil installed by Kennihans. I had never used this company before as our house was a new build in 2011. Sauer brothers installed our AC and from the get go it continued to freeze up....not just before we moved into the house...but each year consecutively it would tank mid to late summer. I didn't want to call them again as I had had enough of the same old same! (hindsight 20/20 I should have insisted the builder get it out of our house but he always offered excuses for them too)
Kennihan came out and seemed to know what they were doing. The young guy tested the A coil for leaks and showed me several of them in a neon color. I ok'd a new A coil install. This summer was plenty HOT and I was very happy that our AC could keep up. That is until this week. I cant get the house cooler than 72. My preference is 68-69. Our house is heavily insulated and we have Hardy Plank siding. I called Kennihan and a very rude woman took the call. I asked for a service call and she said for what? I said...AC. She replied....what? You cant schedule AC until late spring. I said...why? My house is hot and my unit isn't blowing?? She replied BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY TELL ME! So I said...well I just spent $1500 for an Acoil and I would like to have it serviced! To that she looked up my account and said....you had that work 1 year ago!
?????????????????????????? WTH?????????????
So a $1500 A coil has no warranty? I said....so what? I want it looked at! She said she would pass the message to Mr Kennihan.,...but she cant promise he would take the call!!!!!! So I said....tell Mr Kennihan he is losing a customer then! And she hung up?!
We have an auto repair shop in Ross township. If my husband or my father inlaw would have treated our customers like this B did....we would not be in business!
I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE!!!!!
Tonight - another heating cooling guy came out- the unit is froze solid. He suggested letting it thaw until Sunday and he will bring out equipment to test the A coil.

""Mr Kennihan; if you aren't too good to respond to a new customer who was treated like crap- how about standing behind your product???""

STEAR CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!
My air conditioning failed during the Aug. heat wave and I called Kennihan because they promised weekend service calls for which they charge $189. I knew that up front. The technician came out and replaced a capacitor for which he charged $287, bringing the cost of the service call to $456! I was aghast! He told me I needed a new AC system and he wasn't sure how long the fix might last, but . I was aghast at the price but he said if I purchased a new system through them, they would deduct the price of this service call. Kennihan's estimate was $5134 for a new system. The system stopped working 20 minutes later and got 2 other estimates, both for comparable units and both $1500 less than Kennihan had quoted. I had a new system installed by Restano For $3640. Later I called Kennihan and asked if I could return the essentially unused capacitor and get at least a partial refund of the $267 since it had been used for less than 1/2 hour. They refused. Then I looked online for the price of the capacitor thinking I could sell it and recoup some of my money and learned it cost only $6.95! Kennihan had charged me 38 times the cost of the part! Greedy and unscrupulous!

Terrible service! Said they did a ""fix"" but did NOTHING. Had to call another plumber who saw Kennihan's $189 invoice and said NO way that is ridiculous. Erie Insurance adjuster said do NOT EVER use them!! They took advantage of my 76 year old 1/2 blind Aunt!! They owe her $$$ back!!! Just unreal how they treated her!
