Two years ago we had Kennedy come and replace our furnace. They were friendly, and knowledgeable, they put plastic down on the floor to keep it clean.

However, the men doing the install, had moved a large antique piece of glass off of an equally antique hope chest onto the concrete floor with no protection whatsoever underneath it or above, resulting in scratches on the glass.

Instead of going through where the flue originally went, or cutting a new hole in the wall, either of which would have been totally reasonable, they decided to go through the only window in the basement.

When going through the window, they stood on the antique hope chest in their boots covered in dirt from outside. This produced huge scratches and a gouge. All because they didn't use any kind of protection on this item either.

When we called to inform them about the scratches on the antiques, they told us we were lying to them. When we told them that it was unacceptable for the pipes to go through the only window and that they needed to come and move it, they were indignant and rude.

They did indeed come to fix the pipe situation, but their friendly demeanor and good customer service was gone.

A year later my mother called to have them come and adjust the temperature as the hot water got much too hot, and yet again they were rude to her.

Now, another year later we are having a problem with one of our zones, its not working at all, and my mother still wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, called them to see if they could come fix it.

She called and left a message about the problem. When she was called back by their secretary/dispatch person, whoever it is, she was told that ""He thinks it sounds like a frozen pipe. Find it and defrost it.""

Isn't that your job Kennedy? To come and find the problem that your customer is having?

We called another company and were told that someone would be able to be here the next day.

Kennedy called us back later in the afternoon, to say that they wouldn't be able to get to us for 3 weeks. That seems like a vindictive act by a business against a customer who has had complaints, yet still wants to give you their business. Like a manager said, ""We're not going to go to them because they've complained about us before.""

Way to run a business guys.

After sitting down with the owner, Tim, we went over options, prices and the whole 9 yards. We had just spent a winter with no heat and although we were able to deal with it, using space heaters, my wife was pregnant and we would definitely need heat this winter. After telling Tim this, I told him we needed to make sure we would be set. We had steam radiators, powered by gas. He recommended a mini-split system. So fast forward a month after completion, we are freezing! It is just under 50 degrees in our house. (We just had all our windows replaced, doors and the previous owner blew insulation into the walls) I proceeded to call up Tim to ask what we should do. About 20 minutes later one of his employees calls and stated, Tim didn't want to speak with us. Then followed up by saying he was expecting us to be calling on a day like today (it was 22f outside). After, he then told us that the unit Tim sold us only heated up to 30,000 btu. Our house needed over 80,000 btu.

Update: Tim came back and reconciled the problems. He installed a gas furnace that now heats our whole house (1900sqft). Although we did pay a little out of pocket, most of the cost was covered by Tim. Although I wish we had used the gas furnace in the first place, as it was a fraction of the cost and 3 times as powerful, Tim did come back to work with us to fix the issues.

Despite the negative reviews. I called Kennedy to replace my furnace and found them to be very honest, respectful and more importantly affordable. Did a great job and was very responsive when I called with questions.
Would use them over & over again.

Where to begin. Called to have our furnace fixed. Was not firing. James was a pleasant guy who was the tech that came to fix the problem. He was here for about an hour and could not resolve the problem so he called Lennox for some help. After a half hour on the phone on hold with Lennox, James was told by his Boss to leave. I could not believe it. I asked why and he said his boss had other jobs to do. James was a bit embarrassed but stated he worked for him and had to obey his boss. So now we have no tech here, going down to 27 degrees and no heat. So I call up the office and spoke to the owner. He advised me never to buy a Lennox, hard to get parts, expensive and there was nothing he could do for us. He has other jobs to do, so basically told me good luck(Your Screwed). I thought I was the customer???
Paying for a service, getting no results. Please advise all friends to stay away from this company!!!!

So far, they're great!

I scheduled my appointment, and then read the reviews here. I'm glad I didn't read them first! Three years ago my air compressor (half the central air machinery for my home) died. I called Kennedy and they sent out a technician who diagnosed the problem and told me the compressor needed to be replaced. I couldn't afford it, unfortunately, and had to deal without it.

At the beginning of the summer, James from Kennedy called me and asked if I still needed it done and said the quote from three years ago was still good. I told him I wouldn't be able to afford the repair until maybe August, because I sunk all my savings into a class for work and I wouldn't get paid back by my employer until then. They told me they'd be willing to take half up front and half when I got paid back. I had to write a letter stating that I would pay them back ""when I got my tuition check."" Not even a fixed date. When I get the tuition check.

Seriously, real people run this place. My house gets so unbearably hot and humid in the summer months, and this made me so relieved to not have to deal with that until August. As soon as I was ready to give them half the payment (yesterday) they scheduled the appointment (for today). I shut my cats in the bedroom for the day, gave them access to my house while I was at work, and when I came home I found a note from James on my counter. And my house feels so good. Nice and cool, not humid. Just nice.

Everyone at the company I interacted with (James, Tim Kennedy, and Maria in the office) was professional and great. I'm sorry others had such bad experiences. I will happily use them again!

Awful company. Customer Service is extremely poor- office staff is rude, GM is probably the rudest of them all. Not to mention over priced. I even got charged for work that wasnt done!!
Without a doubt the WORST experience I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and do business elsewhere...you'll thank me later!

Recently contacted this company and set up an appointment. They were supposed to show up at between 7:30 and 8 AM . Call them up after an hour and 15 minutes due to no show. Was told by the receptionist that they were busy unloading parts and have been unable to come out yet. They didn't have the courtesy of calling me up and letting me know that they were either late or coming at all. I canceled the appointment for whatever it was worth. Great way to run a business guys!!!

This company hs the lousiest work ethic and do not take pride in their work. The owner, Tim K. argues with his customers - once even had his receptionist tell me that Tim requests me to stop calling the company when the furnace they installed was not working efficiently, gas company had to be called multiple times, Kennedy called even more times and came out and still unable to diagnose the problem but kept trying to make money by cleaning the system. Lousy, finally called them again to tell them the gas company was threatening to shut the furnace down and could hear the owner yelling in the background. Just hung up, lousy person, lousy attitude, lousy service... thank goodness, they didn't make the product.

I agree with the other post. After being in my house for 5 minutes I was told my AC was fine and I owed them $79. The technician then called his boss because I was unhappy with the 5 minute job. ""Tim"", who I believe to be Tim Kennedy the Vice President, was rude and completely unprofessional on the phone with me. I actually had to ask him to stop yelling at me as he he didn't want the technician spending any more time at my house. Bottom line...extremely disapoointed. We wanted to support a local business but will not be calling them again.
