I have used Ken Mays Plumbing for many years. My last two experiences have been extremely disappointing. Most recently, the plumber was a no call, no show. I rescheduled. He arrived 3 days later, charged me $168 to attempt to unclog my kitchen drain (he asked to borrow my plunger) and then stuck some tool down the drain for which he charged me an extra $30.He then told me I needed to re-pipe my house to prevent future clogs and that would run about $5000. This, I did not do of course.
The next day, the drain backed up again.
I then called another company who for $130 came out, removed the clean out valve on the outside of the house, and snaked the pipes. KenMays did not even attempt to do either of the above. Very disappointing. The good news though is I have found a really reliable and competent plumber from Ed's Plumbing who I will call again in the future.

I went to run my dishwasher the night before New Years eve and when I went to get some water, I noticed that my cabinet under my sink was gushing water and that my kitchen sink rug was completely soaked...I quickly cleaned out under my sink and cleaned up all the water. It was too late to call for a service, but I called first thing this morning (Sunday, New Years eve!) and I had Manny out here to fix it within a few hours. My pipes had years of grease and grime build up from previous owners (ew!) but he snaked it and now it is all working well. Thank you Manny for your excellent service and for coming out so quickly on a holiday!

We had 5 houseguests over Thanksgiving, and our septic line got plugged up. We called Ken Mays Plumbing, and Mario came out Saturday. He quickly and cheerfully snaked the line, and fixed our problem! We are very happy customers!

What's wrong with this company? I used them in the past and they were good, but something has changed. They gave me a quote on the phone which I gladly accepted. Once the plumber got to my house he took a look at the problem and although he found nothing unexpected he still gave me a quote way higher than the original one. The reason? None. Nada. Zero reasons.

I asked him to leave. Never calling them again.

I've 2 experiences with these guys so far and they've both been in public. The first was at 7-11 in Napa where both the technicians looked high out of their minds and sniffling bad, even another customer mentioned it.
The second was driving behind a Kevin Mays pickup truck just now, and the guy just stopped in the road, then took a turn, no blinker. Its raining and I almost smashed into him.
Just from these 2 experiences, I wouldn't even want to call these guys for service.

I manage multiple rental properties, both commercial and residential. I've used Ken Mays on multiple occasions at the different locations and have always been completely satisfied. They arrive during the time given, and call if they are running behind. Very professional too. Their rates are fair for our area, and they do excellent work.

I had water flowing from an unknown source, called Ken Mays and they were able to tell me what to do before they were able to arrive. Within an hour Brandon was on site and thoroughly explained everything. They are very professional, reasonable in price and have a very good reputation in Napa.
