Had a half-inch copper pipe problem which I had not been able to solder due to water in the line...in a crawl space...my repair blew out and I had to shut the supply down. Called Ken at both numbers, he got back to me within the hour. I explained, he said he couldn't help me right away since it was an emergency and he was committed elsewhere. I said the water was off to part of the house and we could live with that for a while, what was his earliest...he said I'll get back to you in 15 minutes. When he called back he said my associate Tom will be there today between 4 and 4:30, and he gave me a quote. Tom actually showed up early, fixed the issue in a few minutes, and did it on estimate. The best.

What a great gentlemen. He came and did the right investigation and quickly found that it is just the water condensation due to the temperature difference. He will be our plumber moving forward. I highly recommend him.

After 14 years, our gas water heater failed leaking water all over our basement floor.

After shutting off the water I set out to find a plumber whom I could trust, mindful of a recent bad experience I had had with a local plumber who gouged me on a simple repair to my gas boiler. I checked with several big box stores, one of which had supplied my last water heater.
One had a very quick response, and I was tempted to take the offer. But the price was uncertain because they said that they couldn't be sure if I might need more parts. Searching for customer ratings I found several of their customers who had been presented with large up charges for things like increasing the size of their vent pipe, or adding an expansion tank. Checking Yelp, I came upon Ken Holey plumbing. His ratings were great but there weren't many, so I thought I'd call and speak to him and decide based on our discussion.
When I called, as with several others, I reached a recording that said he wasn't in, but it offered another number, which I was delighted to find Ken answered himself. This was a departure from the calls I made to several other local plumbers who I called but didn't hear from until the evening. I discussed the issue with Ken and he, on the spot, offered a very reasonable price and an explanation about what else I might need and what wasn't necessary. For example... (an expansion tank which other plumbers told me they routinely add).
Having had a recent bad experience with another plumber, I checked with our town's plumbing inspector. He confirmed every point Ken made.
So I hired Ken. He arrived exactly at the time he said he would. He worked quickly, carefully and left the work area clean. Hot water was back on in a couple of hours, and his bill was to the penny what he quoted and more reasonable than any of the other plumbers I spoke with.
Ken will definitely be my go-to-guy for any future plumbing jobs. A very trustworthy guy.
