Ken made replacing my hot water heater an easy and stress free process. I called him at 10:45 in the morning to ask about a water heater replacement (not an emergency but a proactive , and he answered immediately and said he could come later that day to give me a quote and potentially replace it the same day also. He also gave me other options and let me know that he was booked for a while after a small job today. He texted to let me know he was on his way within an hour and was very nice and considerate (""do you want this door shut?"" Should I take my shoes off on the rug?"" etc) when he arrived. He gave me a quote that was in the range of what my research told me it should be for the heater, install, removal of old one etc., and when I accepted the offer, he told me that he had to go get a dolly as he was by himself and gave me an estimate of how long it would be before he would be back to install it. He texted me again that he was on his way (right about at the time I expected per what he told me earlier) and came in and did the job well (this was today, so I can't yet speak to longevity). I also asked him to look into an issue with my toilet and he did without trying to upsell me (he checked the components, tried a quick fix and said to call if still seems to be filling occasionally after this). Lastly, I was so pleased with him that I asked if he also does AC work, and he kindly said he doesn't, but he gave me the person who does all of his AC work so I would have a reliable recommendation. All told I was very impressed with Ken's professionalism, responsiveness, thoughtfulness, eagerness to please, and of course, his work. I will absolute hire him the next time I need a plumber that I can rely on!

Hired Mr. Cyr to install/replace my new gas range. He told me to tell him when the company was there to deliver it and he would come over to do the install. I texted him when they were here but it took him several hours after to respond to me. When he came it was a very informal interaction. We chit chatted while he did the installation, including replacing the anti-tip bracket. It only took him about 15 minutes to install it all. He was also nice enough to give me a veteran's discount!

At the time of this review he just left the house so I cannot speak to the longevity of his work, but the stove works currently. If anything changes I will update this review.

Pros: Did the job for less than the major appliance store installers charge! Friendly demeanor, discount for being a veteran.

Cons: Difficult to get a hold of and didn't commit to time given.

Overall I would definitely recommend Ken for jobs where you don't have a very strict time frame for him to be on site. Luckily I work from home so it worked out for me. If I had needed him to be here when the delivery company was so I could return back to work afterward I would have been far more upset with him not being here when he said he would.

First time he installed the hot water heater but left a huge mess of brown water covering the entire ceiling of my bathroom and ruined a kitchen towel when he could have just asked me for rags.

Second time he gave me a time frame of 8am-9am but hours went by and he never showed. I text'd him and he told me he'd be here at 12:30. Shows up at 11:30, has to wait a few minutes because I went to my basement storage and began complaining like a baby about 5 minutes when I spent half my day waiting on his services. Super unprofessional and I don't know how someone like this stays in business.

I'm a landlord in Boston so I have experience working with a number of different contractors and subcontractors in the city. I use Ken at all of my buildings because he's reliable and I know I can trust him. He's done all sorts of work for me...connecting gas stoves, replacing sinks/disposals, fixing leaks, swapping out dishwashers, even much larger projects like removing two old boilers and installing high efficiency gas water heaters for a 20 unit building. He has always gone out of his way to make sure things are done the right way. Never had a problem with any of the work he's done.

Referred by Home Advisor. Mr. Cyr (formerly at 64 Sylvia St. Lynn, MA), who has a Master Plumbers License in MA, installed indirect water heater 10/14/17. His e-mail addressed to me on 10/6/17 stipulated 1 year labor warranty. Immediately after install experienced inconsistent hot water. He performed one cursory evaluation and declared system was functioning properly. Over course of the following 11 months I e-mailed many times complaining. His response was he had installed and/or repaired hundreds of water heaters and never experienced this problem; he wanted me to contact HTP manufacturer to determine cause of problem. On 9/8/18 had another company review the situation. They determined cause was improper installation. Mr. Cyr had cold water supply sourced to the top of the tank as the inlet when in fact that location is the outlet; the hot water was being returned from the bottom. In summary, he made the connections inverse to what they should have been. Cold water entering the tank at the top would drop toward the bottom as hot water was being drawn so it impacted the degree of hot water and this necessitated adjusting control valves to produce hotter water. I informed Mr. Cyr that I had the other company fix the problem because I had, at a minimum, to pay for a service call (also I wasn't sure even if I identified the problem to Mr. Cyr that he would correct it). Mr. Cyr stated he would reimburse for the cost of correcting the problem. Two months after making that statement he refused to reimburse me stating he was not responsible for repairs made 9 months after installation.
